Defending Ferncloud by Lilypaw

Hello! Lilypaw here. Today I wanted to discuss a problem that stood out to me. The hate of Ferncloud. I’m neutral on Ferncloud but this one reason to hate her left me confused. So I am going to try to change your mind on this specific reason. Enjoy! (Sorry if I get sidetracked.)

Okay. You are all probably wondering which problem I am talking about. Everyone is mad at her because she had too many kits! I agree that she had a big family, but I don’t see the problem with that. Let’s count which ones she has… Shrewpaw, Spiderleg, Hollykit, Larchkit, Birchfall, Foxleap, and Icecloud. Yep! That’s all! Seven!

That’s a big family. But they CHOSE to have three litters. I think… This series is sending me some really confusing signals when it comes to this subject. Anyways! They wanted to have a big family. Some of you may not like her or her family because of Dustpelt.

I’m going to save this for another day but I will talk a bit about it. People do not like FernXDust because of the age gap. There are way too many age gaps in this series! These are cats RUNNING AROUND IN THE FOREST and FIGHTING and EATING SMALL ANIMALS! They aren’t going to care about AGE GAPS when it comes to dating! Sorry about the rant. I’m going off subject. Enough of the FernXDust argument.

Back to the kits! People don’t like her because she had seven children. Right? Well, there are other she-cats who had more kits. Snowbird of ShadowClan had nine children: Cloverfoot, Berryheart, Buster (Rippletail), Beenose, Yarrowleaf, Bluebellkit, Conefoot, Gullswoop, and Frondwhisker. Milkweed of the original ThunderClan had nine children as well: Clover, Bramble, Thistle, Shivering Rose, Morning Fire, Hazel Burrow, Beech Tail, and Patch Pelt.

So, I don’t understand why people are hating on her and not them. Maybe it’s the FernXDust thing again. People don’t like them because Dust is her Uncle and inter Clan relationships. Well… have you seen ThunderClan these days! There are soo many cats mating with each other when they are related! I’m surprised they haven’t all DIED FROM DISEASES THAT ARE CAUSED BY THIS!!!

Their family tree is so JUMBLED UP! It gives me a HEADACHE to look at it! Like I said! These are cats running around the forest! They have their own government and GODS! They aren’t going to CARE about these things!

*silence* I am so sorry! I needed to yell about this and that got me totally off track. Sorry if I offended anyone with that rant. I am off track and don’t have any other points so that is why Ferncloud shouldn’t be hated on.

This turned into a defending FernXDust article. I actually like this ship and think it’s sweet! Sorry again, about everything. I have never done an article like this! Overall, Ferncloud is a good cat and shouldn’t be hated on because she had a big family. Have a good day/night! Lilypaw out! 12-21-22
