Hello everyone! It’s Daisyspirit here with her first article! Like most articles I make, it is in an article series! Today, we are going to find out the meaning of the suffixes claw, flower, and feather! What role do the characters have in the story? What personality? Is it a tom or she-cat suffix? WHY were they even given that suffix?! I will be using character examples to find out!

BEFORE WE BEGIN: IF AN APPRENTICE FITS THE DESCRIPTION, DON’T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT!!!! THEY MAY BE GIVEN AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SUFFIX!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will start with a relatively common suffix that might not even need my explanation, claw! The two cats we will use will be Brambleclaw/star and Thistleclaw.
If we start with Brambleclaw, this is what we can find out about him:

Brambleclaw was born alongside Tawnypelt to Tigerstar and Goldenflower. He was trained as Firestar’s apprentice for some time, but his first warrior appearance was in Firestar’s Quest. He appears as a prophecy cat in TNP, as well as Squirrelpaw/flight’s love interest. He can be described by Squirrelflight as bossy, a grump, a natural leader, arrogant, and loyal. Most of those claims are correct. Brambleclaw is leader-like, grumpy, sometimes aggressive, strict, a good father, ambitious, and easily angered. For a while, I suspected he would turn to the Dark Side. But he remained good, though his ambitions never stopped.

Now for Thistleclaw:
He had a relatively important role in Bluestar’s Prophecy as Snowfur’s love interest and the main villain. The infamous Tigerstar trained under him. He is ambitious, ruthless, evil, and a loyal mate. He starts out a little like Crowpaw, and he is trained under Adderfang. He hated his competitor for deputy, Bluefur/star, from the beginning .

To sum up the suffix -claw, we can say that they are normally ambitious, bossy, loyal to their mates/kits, and evil. They normally have major roles and are one of the POVs or one of the POVs enemies. It is a mostly tom suffix.

For the next suffix, the suffix flower, we will be using the cats Goldenflower and Moonflower. We will start with Moonflower. As a side note, to keep this article from being to long I won’t press enter twice anymore.
