Sparkpaw points out other events in Ashfur’s life that contributed to his decisions.

[Asjfur sitting down with an expression of contempt]
Hi! I’m Sparkpaw and this is my second article! In this article I’ll be explaining why I think Ashfur became who he was.
Now, without further ado, let’s start!
Ashfur’s mother is Brindleface and his father is Whitestorm. During A Dangerous Path, Tigerstar kills Brindleface to give the dogs a taste for cat blood. Ashfur and Ferncloud are only apprentices at this stage. This could have been the first thing that began to spark the evil inside Ashfur. It’s even mentioned in the book how much he wants revenge against Tigerstar.
In TNP, Bramblestar and Squirrelflight seem to be close to becoming mates. Ashfur also wants to be Squirrelflight’s mate, and doesn’t like Bramblestar. Bramblestar is Tigerstar’s son. And remember, Tigerstar killed Ashfur’s mother. This could have contributed to why Ashfur “became” Bramblestar instead of Firestar (which he technically could have done since he died before Bramblestar became the ThunderClan leader). Along with that, he wanted to be Squirrelflight’s mate, so for him, it was a package deal.
In PoT, Ashfur tries to kill Jayfeather, Lionblaze and Hollyleaf, suspecting they are Squirrelflight’s kits. But why would he feel all this resentment in the first place? It could be not just because he thinks they’re Squirrelflight’s kits. It also could be because he thinks they’re Bramblestar’s.
When Squirrelflight reveals that they’re not her kits, Ashfur thinks of a new way to punish her. But before he can tell all the clans at the gathering, Hollyleaf kills him.
StarClan forgives him (somehow…) and lets him into their hunting grounds, but Hollyleaf killing him probably fuelled his anger even more. Now with more power and cats trusting him, he has time to plan something new. (I’m sure he’s also angry about Hollyleaf, when she dies, also coming to StarClan…)
This leads to AVoS. Squirrelflight and Bramblestar have kits, Sparkpelt and Alderheart. Again, there’s something Ashfur doesn’t like, but can’t control.
In TBC, when Ashfur “becomes” Bramblestar, some ThunderClan cats lead dogs to Sparkpelt to see if Bramblestar is really Bramblestar. If he was, he would defend his daughter, but since he isn’t, he doesn’t. This may not be just because Bramblestar isn’t Bramblestar; it could also be because Ashfur wants Sparkpelt to die because she’s Bramblestar’s kit and Bramblestar is Tigerstar’s kit.
Therefore, Ashfur’s actions could have been the shadows of other incidents.
That’s all for this article! Bye!

Great article, Sparki!! I personally love Ashfur <3
Same!
Same!!! I actually kin him, by the way!
I love this 💕 🍪 for u
Great article! I never considered this – it’s very interesting and I can see it being an actual possibility in canon. It also adds a lot to an already personal favorite villain of mine. 😀
Gre8 article!!!! But thunderclan cats didn’t lead the dogs 2 sparkpelt 2 c if bramblestar is really himself, ashfur led the dogs 2 her. Anyways, nice points!
Great article!
Great article! I never thought of Ashfur having a personal vendetta against Bramblestar.
Great article!
AHHH cool article topic!! I totally agree 🙂
Great article!! I always liked the idea of Ashfur being evil for multiple reasons, being rejected by Squilf and his mother’s death to name a few (he also avenged both his mother’s death and his father’s, so that might’ve taught him something)
i love this
Great article. I never considered all this! I just thought Ashfur became plain evil!
Every cat (and human) becomes evil for a reason. It might be a good one, or a bad one, but still, everything happens for a reason.
Oh. I quite a agree now.
To be honest, im still wondering to this day why yellowfang let him in to Starclan…
