Justifying Hollyleaf’s actions by Palepaw

Palepaw defends Hollyleaf.

Hello friends! I’m back with another article! Today I’ll be taking a look at Hollyleaf. I sort of wanted to defend her, So here it is! Does she deserve the hate she receives, or should she be loved?

My take on Hollyleaf:
Personally, I love Hollyleaf! I LOVE HER SO MUCH I HAVE HER PLUSH. BUT. I think that she had a lot of wasted potential, and killing her off made me think; Erins. SHE COULD’VE REDEEMED HERSELF. WHY!! Apparently Hollyleaf was sacrificed so she could ‘prove’ to everyone that she was loyal, but to me It just came off wrong.

Why all the hate?
So Hollyleaf has been getting… a LOT of hate. Reasons why:
Her warrior code OBSESSION
She killed Ashfur
She tried forcing Leafpool to eat deathberries
She was dramatic about finding out her about her real parents
She ‘abandoned’ Thunderclan
I’ll be trying to explain her actions as best as I can!

HER WARRIOR CODE OBSESSION

Here’s a quote from her – “ We have to let the warrior code rule our hearts. The death of a warrior does not mean victory. “
Personally I have to agree a little. She can be a little too close with the code at times. But generally, I don’t think that it’s an entirely BAD thing. Plus. She isn’t addicted to the code, like some people claim. Didn’t she kill Ashfur? That goes against the code doesn’t it?

SHE KILLED ASHFUR

Alright. I’m going to start off by saying, Ashfur deserved it. He SET THE FOREST ON FIRE. He could’ve killed Squilf, Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf herself. Honestly after Ashfur died, who went “ Noo he was my absolute favourite character and he wasn’t bad at all! “ ( no offence to the people who did ) I think that Hollyleaf HAD the right to kill him after he permanently SCARRED Holly.

SHE TRIED FORCING LEAFPOOL TO EAT DEATHBERRIES

This one is a statement I hear often but it confuses me. I think that saying ‘ forcing ‘ is an overstatement. Remember, this scene practically only took a few pages and Hollyleaf never actually SHOVED a deathberry into Leafpool’s mouth. It was more of a threat if you ask me.

SHE WAS OVERDRAMATIC AFTER SHE FOUND OUT ABOUT HER REAL PARENTS

Yes. She might’ve been overdramatic but then again, how would you feel if you had kind parents for your entire life. Then your ‘mom’ revealed that you actually weren’t her’s, and instead some random people you aren’t close with and barely know you. Plus, their relationship literally broke the LAW. Wouldn’t that SHOCK you? That’s how Hollyleaf felt. Her entire life had been flipped over, and everything started caving in.

Last but not least, SHE ABANDONED THUNDERCLAN

Her life felt so screwed that she needed to leave all her friends and family. That just goes to show how much of a toll everything took on her. Again, this isn’t called being ‘overdramatic’ she is literally having an existential crisis. Her parents aren’t who she thought they were, and she could potentially be a dangerous cat due to Crowfeather and Leafpool’s relationship. She just needed some time to think for herself. This is almost exactly what Graystripe did and yet nobody goes after HIM.

~Some additional defending~

If I’m not mistaken, I believe that Hollyleaf saved Cherrypaw and Molepaw from a fox! So yes, she cares about her clanmates and is in fact NOT a traitor to Thunderclan.

She also sacrificed herself for Ivypool in the last hope, so that backs up the fact that she’s loyal!
