Fadedpaw discusses the age gaps in Warriors.
Hello! It’s time I write my first article! I am very excited for this! As you probably already know from the title, this is about why people need to stop complaining about age gaps between mates.
I have seen people complaining about Onestar and Whitetail a ton lately. I’ve also seen people complain about one or two year age gaps, which is understandable. I can see why people think that, but, when I really thought about it, it’s perfectly normal!
I’ll explain why this shouldn’t be complained about. But first, I’ll list some of the ships I’ve seen people complain about. Onestar and Whitetail, with an age gap of at least half a year. Ivypool and Fernsong, with an age gap of about two years. Bramblestar and Squirrelflight, with an age gap of about two years (I think).
This shouldn’t be complained about. An age gap of one or two years . . . Where does this happen? PEOPLE!! So if people are complaining about Warrior Cats having age gaps, and that’s not okay, then it shouldn’t be okay with people, either.
I have planned on getting an article about this out for a long time. And finally, I have. It just bothers me so much because it is perfectly normal for couples of people to have an age gap of anywhere from a few months, like Onestar and Whitetail, to two or three years, like Ivypool and Fernsong.
How much this complaining bothers me is something words can’t express. I keep seeing videos that are saying that kids, even older kids, teens, or pre-teens shouldn’t be reading the books because of these age gaps! If it really mattered, I wouldn’t be allowed to read these books!
And if I couldn’t read these books, as well as some of you who are somewhere among the ages I mentioned, then I would never have discovered my love for reading. I know, I keep saying this, but I just can’t stand it when people complain about age gaps! It shouldn’t matter!
Thanks for reading! Have a great morning/noon/night! Sorry you had to listen to me complaining. I just get a little annoyed with things like this, where people say that things that shouldn’t matter are a huge deal.

I agree with you on the part about people my dad is 8 years older than my mom.
oh same!
THANK YOU SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH I NEEDED THIS. I MEAN AGE GAPS ARE NATURAL FOR CATS ITS NOT WEIRD- CATS MATE YEAR AND YEARS APART AND THANK YOU FOR WRITING THIS MY MIND IS AT PEACE. (First comment with my pfp <3)
Great article!
cool article!
I agree! 2-10 year age gaps in normal, but a 15 year old and 50 year old, now thats something different that warrior cats isnt!
Once a person enters adulthood marrying someone significantly older I no longer considered inappropriate. Heck, my great-grandparents were 10 years apart!
Great article! I agree faded. Like WHY DO PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT 1 OR 2 AGE GAPS?!? IT MAKES NO SENSE! Sorry for yelling. Great article again!
Reading some of the comments has slightly triggered my anxiety.
For one thing, I didn’t exactly say ThornXBlossom was okay, and I’m not completely sure whether it is. I do understand why people complain, but I don’t get it. Idk how to explain.
I do understand why some people think of cat years in this. But how do people know what years are for cats? They could be the exact some thing. What, have scientists spoken with cats? Nope.
Also, thank you to everyone who read this <3

I don’t really agree, because one year is like 15 cat years…do you see thirty year age gaps in people? No? Then how is it appropriate in Warriors? Age gaps in cats aren’t the same in humans! But cool article anyway, even though I don’t agree
While I do kinda agree with you about the age gaps 2 years is a lot longer for cats than it is for humans. Wild cats often only live for around 3 years (But that’s real life statistics so idk). While I don’t really care about the age gaps I do disagree that ” if people are complaining about Warrior Cats having age gaps, and that’s not okay, then it shouldn’t be okay with people, either.”
