Why Squirrelflight is Amazing by Dapplewish

Hey blogclanners! It’s Dapplewish/(star) here today and I wanted to talk about………. Squirrelflight!

I am going to dive right in with her family! Her parents are Firestar and Sandstorm and she has a sister, Leafpool. She grows up to be a warrior and her sister a med. cat. But her sister, Leafpool has been sneaking out to see a WindClan warrior, Crowfeather. Now Leafpool is breaking 2 of the codes. So Leafpool has KITS with Crowfeather and asks Squirrelflight to pretend they are hers! At this point Squirrelflight is mating Brambleclaw after turning down Ashfur. She tells Brambleclaw that Leafpool’s kits, Lionkit(blaze), Jaykit(feather), and Hollykit(leaf) are their kits. Now this is a big step that she does for her sister.

A little bit later a fire breaks out in ThunderClan territory and as ‘her’ kits and her are trying to escape, Ashfur comes in and he won’t let them escape. It forces Squirrelfilght to tell Ashfur that they aren’t her kits (they are warrior now by the way.) That is what leads up to ALL this drama…

Now Squirrelflight has her own kits, Alderkit, Sparkit, Dandelionkit, and Juniperkit. Sadly Dandelionkit, and Juniperkit die. Hollyleaf kills Ashfur and tells the whole gathering about Squirrelflight not being her real mother, after ALL that she has done for her😭 Brambleclaw is very angry with her now.

Later on in the series Hollyleaf dies defending her clanmate in a battle and a new group of cats move in right next to the Clans. the Sisters. a group of she-cats. One of the cats, Moonlight (I think…) is expecting kits. Now at this same time SkyClan was looking for new territory so they wanted to explore this area. Squirrelflight goes with Leafstar, only to be taken captive by them. They eventually escape with the help of their Clans, but now the Clans are angry. The Sisters only took them captive so they wouldn’t go tell everyone about how they lived there, they were treating them- not abusing them.

Brambleclaw is really angry at Squirrelflight and so they don’t have the best relationship. But Squirrelflight keeps going back to them with Leafpool to help Moonlight with her kits. A few days later the Clans have a date when they want to attack. This puts Squirrelflight and Leafpool in a bad position. The Clans come and they are about to attack as Moonlight is giving birth! Talk about bad timing 😆!

Leafpool and Squirrelflight turn and are ready to fight for the Sisters. Just then as Moonlight is heading up to a cave with her just newborn kits a ShadowClan warrior sees them and charges. Squirrelflight and Leafpool charge in there, trying to get the newborn kits. Just as they get them out, a big rock falls on them, knocking them out.

In StarClan they have a choice if they want to go back so Leafpool choses to stay and Squirrelflight choses to go back. From there Bramblestar forgives her and then they live happily… until his body gets taken by dead Ashfur… but that is for a different article! I LOVE Squirrelflight and how she is so devoted to help any cats in need!
