Stormfur and his mentor are two of my favourite characters, and characters I believe have stood the test of time and are unforgettable to fans who have read the original arc.
In this post, I’m going to go through the warrior code (the big bits anyway), and break down exactly why I believe Stormfur to be the ideal warrior.

1.) Defend your Clan, even with your life.
Back as an apprentice, Stormfur took part in the battle against BloodClan in the Darkest Hour. Weakened from his stay as a prisoner, and having experienced the trauma of watching his mentor be slain in front of him, Stormfur would easily have been forgiven for running away from the battle and for staying as far away from it as possible. But instead, he not only fought, but with the aid of other apprentices fought and slew the Deputy of BloodClan (Bone) and avenged Whitestorm.

Additionally, Stormfur was willing to give his life to save the tribe and his sister when fighting Sharptooth. Though Feathertail was the hero, Stormfur’s willingness to give his life for others should not be ignored. The moment in which this aspect of the code is defined perfectly, is during his stay as a prisoner of TigerClan. When Tigerstar and Leopardstar order Stonefur to kill both Stormpaw and Featherpaw, and Stormpaw against overwhelming odds protected his clanmate and sister and was willing to fight to his death to protect them. This moment gave me goosebumps as I read it for the first time, and it truly sums up this part of the code.

2.) Elders, queens, sick or injured cats and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors.
During the journey to Sun-Drown place in the New Prophecy Arc, Tawnypelt suffers a rat bite, which inhibits her movement and prevents her from hunting for herself. If I recall correctly, its Stormfur that brings her food and insists that she eats before he hunts for himself. No more to say on this, he did what the code dictates to the T.

3.) An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles
The only cat Stormfur has ever killed was Bone, alongside Featherpaw, Ashpaw, Bramblepaw
