Why I think Mothwing could be the next RiverClan leader
Hello everyone! I didn’t write another article in a long time. So this article is about why I think Mothwing could be the next RiverClan leader.
I think I should first explain who is Mothwing for the people that don’t know her. But for the people that know her, you can skip this part if you like. So Mothwing is the RiverClan medicine cat, which is basically healer. They share with StarClan. But Mothwing is different. She doesn’t have a connection with StarClan. But she’s still a medicine cat. Okay, now I’m getting off track. So currently, she is the medicine cat of RiverClan and her apprentice is Frostpaw, and RiverClan currently doesn’t have a leader. So off with the actual part if the article!
Okay, question: why Mothwing?
We all know that Mothwing’s a medicine cat right? And Curlfeather said to look beyond obvious choices. What’s not an obvious choice? Either a rank that dosen’t approve of becoming a leader, in this case, they don’t have to be deputy, just a warrior that has just become a warrior, a cat that has not fought in a battle, an apprentice, is a queen that already has kits, actually, leaders can have kits, but that’s distracting so queens are not going to be listed here. And Mothwing’s a medicine cat. So that means she isn’t an obvious choice. Probably the third most not obvious because the second most not obvious is an apprentice, and the least obvious is a kit. But kits can’t become leaders. So for me, Mothwing seems like the most possible at the moment, considering that she took the job as “leader” when they found Reedwhisker or what was his name again? I think it was Reedwhisker or something. Whatever. We’ll just call him Reedwhisker . When he was found dead, Frostpaw went looking for a sign from StarClan, and she found a white curled feather in front of the Moonpool, when she went. Not a coincidence. So Curlfeather it is for the new leader! She went to the Moonpool to get her nine lives, but on WindClan territory, dogs killed her, leaving RiverClan leaderless. But then, Mothwing stepped up to the “leader” job until Frostpaw found a new leader. That’s why I think it’s Mothwing. Mothwing did an awesome job at being “leader” too. And she was a warrior before she was a medicine cat.

Interesting opinion, and great article! I think it is possible for Mothwing to arise as at least a temporary leader, but will eventually go back to her medicine cat duties, if the scenario is possible at all.
WHAT. Mothwing cannot be leader. The curled feathers were faked I think, and the Clan needs a healer! But still, great article! A very good theory, I must say, it made me rethink what Mothwing was in her Clan. Also his name IS Reedwhisker.
Actually there’s Willowshine, so she could take the role!

Great article, but I think she is not fit for the role. She doesn’t speak with StarClan and I feel like she isn’t that type of cat to boss around the whole Clan and bring them into battle.

Great article! To be honest with you, if this really did happen, I don’t think anything would stop Mothwing, now that Frostpaw is a warrior apprentice (sorry not sorry for the spoiler uwu ), except the fact that the Clan wouldn’t have a medicine cat and Mothwing would again have the challenge of training an apprentice without believing in StarClan, or Frostpaw would have to become a medicine cat apprentice again and finish her training under Mothwing and become the Clan’s only medicine cat while Mothwing became leader, and it’s gonna take some REALLY good convincing to get Frostpaw away from being with Splashtail.
Mothwing definitely has some leader abilities, but if Starclan can’t reach her dreams and send her prophecies, then she wouldn’t be able to warn her Clan of danger often enough. So I vote… no. Great article, though!
True, she won’t then receive her nine lives but she dId connect to them ONce when she presented Willowpaw/shine to StarClan

Great article! My theory is that Mothwing is the one behind the RiverClan murders for revenge purposses, but I don’t think she wants to be leader.
I know this is really late, but Reedwhisker IS the name of the deputy.
Just wanted to clarify <3
