Hello everyone! Today is the first day of hustings. Applications for Medicine Cat will be open until July 4th at 23:59 UTC (click here to convert to your local time) – if you would like to run, the form is here!
Today, Medicine Cat candidates Solarflare and Tinyfrost will be answering your questions. These candidates will use the comment space below to put their campaign, while other members of BlogClan can ask their best questions: for example, why do you want this position? What are some good qualities you have, and what are your flaws? What would you want to add to BlogClan? What changes do you hope to make?

I like helping people! I really enjoy greeting new people on the introductions page, and I like talking to people on the positive page and giving shoutouts that’ll make them smile. I mean, obviously it’d just be really cool to be medicine cat, you know, but I also want people to see me and be like “ohhh, that’s the person who helps!” Or “oh, that’s the medicine cat, she’s always greeting people on the introduction page!” I want people to look up to me, and be happy when I’m around, and love talking to me. It’s a lot to ask, but I really want to do this, and at least try; I think it’s a great opportunity and I’d like to participate in this for the experience. Thanks, for considering me.

Ever since I joined the blog, it has been a place I could go to when I was feeling down, feeling lonely or just felt like chatting, and I love the community that has been created here and i’ve met so many kind, friendly and amazing people. I love that the blog a place where we can all go and be ourselves. I’m a shy and reserved person at heart, but the blog has taught me to come out of my shell. If I were to become a medicine cat, I hope that I could contribute to keeping the blog great by always being helpful, kind and a force of positivity. I believe I could be a good fit for medicine cat as I always try my best to be positive and kind to everybody on the blog, because everyone here is amazing! I am also fairly active, and as a medicine cat I would try to be moreso. I know every candidate here is going to be fantastic, but I would be honoured if you would vote for me.

1. What's your biggest goal as medicine cat?
2. What is something that you hope to add to BlogClan?
1. My biggest goal as a medicine cat would be to make sure everyone feels accepted and included in the Blogclan community! That’s pretty close to the description of the medicine cat, I know, but I know what it feels like to not feel like ‘part of the group’ and I want to make sure nobody feels that way.
2. I think that the blog is great already and i’d mostly focus on upholding that, but if possible i’d like to add more fun contests, and maybe start a rotation of my own that everyone can enjoy 🙂
1. What’s your biggest goal as medicine cat? To make people feel good. I want to give shoutouts all the time and compliment people and make them feel super comfortable on the blog; it’s not cool to be left out and I want to change that.
2. What is something that you hope to add to BlogClan? I’d like to keep up morale and make everyone happy, but I’d also like an Appreciation Page, maybe? It’s similar to the Positivity Page, but you go solely to shout out others and it’d get a lot of people who normally don’t visit the Positivity Page involved.

1. I’m super indecisive, and my indecision often leaves me frozen (figuratively, or literally) which can sometimes put me off doing things entirely.
2. I think what’s most appealing about being a medicine cat is the chance to uplift everyone in the community!
3. I’ve been on the blog since April 2022, so 1 year and 3 months!
1. What do you think is your biggest flaw? Overthinking, definitely. I constantly overthink things and then worry about them and I have to talk myself down a lot.
2. What is most appealing about the medicine cat position to you? Having people look up to me and trust me, and value me in the community, and being able to help everyone easier with such a rank.
3. How long have you been on the blog? I started in fifth, but I didn’t have an account, I just never commented and watched from behind the scenes. In sixth, I got an account, named Flamefire, and sometime around last year I scrapped that account and got this one. You can search up Flamefire and see my old articles.

Hi Solarflare! Are there any other reasons you want to be medicinecat other than being recognized?
Yeah, totally! I want to make everyone feel included and comfortable talking to each other and I want to uphold the blog’s feeling of warm love. I mostly just want to keep the community as open and positive as it is right now, but not too much so that it’s stifling — I want a nice balance where people are content and can say what they mean, but not in a way that would hurt someone’s feelings.

1. Similar to my answer on an earlier question, i hope to make everyone on the blog feel heard and included, and just keep the blog a wonderful place where we can be ourselves!
2. I hope that the first impression new members get from me is that I’m friendly and approachable, and that I’m always a person that they can talk to if they wish!
3. Again similar to another answer, there’s not much i would change about the blog because it’s already great, but if i could i would like to add more fun things for Blogclanners to participate in such as contests, and probably start my own rotation for people to play in!
4. Yarrow is used to cure poisoning and sometimes bellyache by making cats vomit! 😀

3. Are there any changes you want to help create on the Blog if you gain the medicine cat position? I’d like to add an Appreciation Page, where the sole purpose is for people to make shoutouts to each other.
4. What does yarrow cure? Depends on how it’s used. If you let a cat eat it, they’ll barf up, for example, deathberries. If you make it into a poultice, it can extract poison from wounds.
