Stormfur, Brambleclaw, Feathertail and Tawnypelt – The underrated yet adorable foster siblings relationship part 1 by Skypaw

Skypaw shares moments from the books between some little-known foster siblings.

Hi, everyone! Skye here! I’m 90% sure you don’t know about this, but…Stormfur, Brambleclaw/star, Feathertail and Tawnypelt are foster siblings! I’m not sure if you remember, but…Yeah, remember back in TPB, Forest of Secrets? Who was the queen that nursed Graystripe and Silverstream’s kits in ThunderClan? Oh, yes, Goldenflower. Tawnykit and Bramblekit’s mother.
Anyway, the series gets much more enjoyable when you know the barely known family relations, like the foster siblings I’m talking about. Today, I will be analyzing some interactions of them in the The New Prophecy arc. Why is this part one? BECAUSE THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY INTERACTIONS.
Anyway, let’s get started!

Brambleclaw caught a glimpse of something gray moving among the bushes, and a heartbeat later Feathertail and Stormfur stepped into the clearing. They glanced around warily, but as soon as Feathertail spotted the other cats she raced across the clearing toward them.

This is really important because it’s the first interaction they have in this book. I really like the fact that Feathertail was wary, then spotted her foster siblings (and Squirrelpaw, but-) and raced toward them. I find it pretty cute.
“
“What can we do?” Tawnypelt asked. She flicked her tail toward Squirrelpaw. “Maybe she’s right. Why would StarClan choose us and not our leaders?”
“I don’t know, but I think they have chosen us”, Feathertail meowed gently.

Feathertail is soothing her sister! That’s sweet. (Just a spoiler: she soothes her siblings a lot during the book)
“
“I know, but…” Feathertail hesitated and then went on. “I just feel it’s wrong to talk about it.”
Brambleclaw knew Stormfur and Tawnypelt were right(…). At the same time he shared Feathertail’s instinct to keep silent.
“I’m not sure”, he meowed. “Suppose our leaders forbade us to meet again? We could end up between obeying them or obeying StarClan.” Aware of the uneasy glances from the others, he went on earnestly; “We don’t know enough to tell them. Suppose we wait until the next Gathering, at least. We might have other signs by then that will explain it all to us.”
Feathertail agreed at once, obviously relieved, and after a pause Stormfur gave a small, reluctant nod.
“But only until the next Gathering”, Tawnypelt meowed.

I don’t have many comments, just that it’s the four of them and only them talking (Crowpaw didn’t join them and Stormfur wasn’t even chosen). Also, I like the way they are backing each other up, and how relieved Feathertail gets when Brambleclaw agrees with her.
“
“It must mean something that we were both chosen– brother and sister”, he murmured.
“Maybe”, Tawnypelt’s green eyes were unconvinced.
“
I just wanted to remark that they did notice that, so maybe that’s why Feathertail was there as well?
“
Suddenly fresh RiverClan scent wafted into his nostrils; he dived into a clump of bracken and peered out between the fronds. A moment later he murmured thanks to StarClan as Feathertail and Stormfur– the two cats he wanted to see–appeared farther along the riverbank.
(…) “Hi”, he mewed.
“Great StarClan!” Stormfur looked him up and down. “Have you been for a swim?”
“I fell off the stepping-stones. Feathertail, can I have a word with you?”
“Of course. Are you sure you’re alright?”
“Yes, I’m fine.(…)”

I find it so sweet she asks him “are you sure you’re alright?”. It’s typical sister stuff, and I’m glad it’s included in the books. (Though Stormfur’s line is ALSO typical sibling stuff- just in another way xD)
“
“Okay.” Brambleclaw blinked his gratitude. Somehow, the prophecy seemed less weight when he was sharing it with friends.

Awww. That’s sweet. The prophecy seems to weigh less when he shares it with Feathertail and Stormfur.
“
“What’s the matter?” He hissed as Feathetail crawled back into the shelter of the branches. “Did you talk to him?”
“It’s okay.” Feathertail pushed her muzzle into his side.

Honestly, that’s a very cute physical affection Feathertail demonstrates. She’s the most loving out of the four siblings, and her relationship with each one of them is unique and adorable. They’re all so sweet, and I hope I’ve convinced you of that!
