Why Bramblestar should’ve not been made deputy by Frogpaw

Frogpaw argues why Firestar should not have made Brambleclaw deputy.

Hello! It’s Gryffinkit! Again……Let’s just say I get bored? Ok? Today I have yet A N O T H E R article! It’s about why I don’t think Brambleclaw should’ve been deputy! I value your opinion! First, I would like to warn you of a spoiler warning! If you’re on TPB (The Prophecies Begin), TNP (The New Prophecy) or TPoT (The Power of Three), don’t read this! Now! To start!
My first reason why is because he wasn’t even the right cat! (I believe) Leafpool stated she’d seen thorn barriers. But then she said bramble claws? What? But what she really saw were thorn claws! Thornclaw! He was the cat that was supposed to be the deputy! And there’s many reasons why!
He was in the dream obviously.

He mentored an apprentice! Brambleclaw hadn’t! The warrior code says that deputies must have mentored an apprentice before becoming deputy. Sure, he was about to get an apprentice, but he has to of mentored they must have already mentored! Or else they haven’t had experience at all!

He’s always on patrols. Poor Thornclaw has been doing nothing but patrols. If he’s always on patrol, doing work, while Brambleclaw’s being all mad because Squirrelflight deserves better, Thornclaw obviously deserves the position more! I think you’d rather like the name Thornstar other than Bramblestar.

Thornclaw had no connections to evil cats or cats outside his clan. Thornclaw was through and through loyal. No one could tell him he wasn’t a loyal cat.

So, I think Thornclaw deserves to be deputy more, but I’ve also come up with reasons Brambleclaw doesn’t :

He was a jerk to Squirrelflight. Ok, it’s one thing if you are mean to a cat in the clan, (which is still not deputy-worthy) but he was mean to the leader’s daughter! And Firestar never knew! Squirrelflight was telling him to stop meeting with Hawkfrost and he keeps doing it! And then puts Squirrelflight in dangerous positions! Bramblestar needs to accept when he’s lost a battle. And then, once he finds out Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, and Lionblaze are Leafpool’s kits, he is mean to her again! You may argue that he didn’t understand their bond, but he told Squirrelflight she should trust him with Hawkfrost since they had a bond too. He should understand!
He put his OWN leader in danger! He listened to Hawkfrost and took his leader to his death! And never mentioned it to his daughter Squirrelflight! I am mad! He tells her they have a “bond” and then litterally takes one of Firestar’s nine lives by listening to his evil brother!
He’s got that unforgiving evil blood. Ok, I’m sorry for judging a cat by his family. But, I felt at first I shouldn’t judge him. But then he looks at his father as a role model. Huh??? A cat that killed multiple cats to become leader looks like a role model to you? Bramblestar! What were you thinking? I’ve got a quote here:

Bramblestar- “The trouble is that everyone only saw evil in Tigerstar. They forgot what a bold and brilliant warrior he was.”
Lionblaze’s POV- Lionpaw pricked his ears. Was Brambleclaw defending Tigerstar?

And then later he says:

“But we all have our strengths and weaknesses.”

*takes a deep breath*( I’m dying inside)

I’m sorry boi, but you can’t possibly say “it’s just a weakness”. My tiger boi literally tried to kill my boi Firestar even though that wouldn’t help him become leader, you just, you just can’t defend that. I haven’t read Tigerclaw’s fury, but how he feels doesn’t make up for his actions. Just because you wanted to impress your kits, doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want without being known as evil.
