Why Mapleshade was Treated Harshly by Everyone… is it Deeper than her Half-Clan Ship? by Briarpaw

Briarpaw wonders what the real reason is behind Mapleshade’s treatment at the paws of the cats around her.

So the other day, I was talking about some HollyxCinder fan art I’d made with this older girl at my school, who we’ll call Mistyrose. And then, that somehow got us to talking about her favourite character, Mapleshade. And I got a theory about her, and she agreed.
So, here it is!

Also, before I start this, please not I am NOT in ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM protecting Appledusk.
I DO NOT condone cheating, it is very wrong, and it is also against my religion.
Has anyone ever wondered why Mapleshade never mentioned anything about her parents?
No cat ever mentioned anything at all about Mapleshade’s parents, even when Frecklewish asked her why she didn’t name any of her kits after Birchface. Wouldn’t she also ask about Mapleshade’s parents, since they aren’t named in the book?
But Frecklewish didn’t.
I’m thinking that Frecklewish didn’t mention Mapleshade’s parents, why no cat mentioned Mapleshade’s parents, was because she’s not Clanborn.
I think that Mapleshade’s parents were rouges, and perhaps after having Mapleshade, something happened, causing one parent to die immidietly. Then, the other parent, who was also very weak and knew they were going to die as well, took Mapleshade to the most inclusive Clan that they had heard about: ThunderClan. ThunderClan is known for taking rouges and kittypets in, and it’s against the Warrior Code to turn down a kit in pain or in danger, which Mapleshade would have been. Mapleshade’s second parent then would have died, leaving her at the mercy of the cats of ThunderClan. I think that her parents probably named her Maple, but the Clan cats re-named her Maplekit, as to not make her question anything. I think that ThunderClan never told anything to Maplekit about her parents, and she was fostered by Frecklewish & Birchface’s mother, which is how Mapleshade got so close with Frecklewish, even before Birchface’s death. Maplepaw would probably have been made an apprentice, and at that time, she would be smart enough and capable to realize: she didn’t know anything about her parents. So maybe Maplepaw would start asking questions, but everyone just shut her down and kept her silent by punishing her in some way, perhaps making it so that she couldn’t go to Gatherings for a few moons. So, Maplepaw would get bored of being trapped and not able to go see other Clans, and she would sneak out one Gathering night. Which is where she would meet a young RiverClan apprentice named Applepaw. You see where this is going, don’t you? So, Maplepaw and Applepaw really hit it off, and decide to sneak out to meet each other. Maplepaw then becomes a Warrior named Mapleshade, and Applepaw becomes Appledusk. Mapleshade and Appledusk fall in love and become secret mates. Eventually, Appledusk realizes what he’s done wrong, and wants to cut ties with Mapleshade.
***ENTERING SPOILER ZONE, PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!***
He’s about to, when Mapleshade tells him she’s expecting his kits. Now that there’s kits added into the mix, he feels like he can’t break things off with her. So instead, Appledusk goes behind Mapleshade’s back and becomes mates with Reedshine.
Now, skip forward to when Mapleshade is caught.
Why were Oakstar and Frecklewish extra mad about it?
They could have kept her in the Clan and told her to be honest with some punishment.
The other Clan cats didn’t seem as mad, besides Ravenwing.
Well, it’s because Mapleshade was a rouge.
And Oakstar uses the logic of “once a rouge, always a rouge, you codebreaker.”
And that’s why he kicks her out, also because she lied about being mates with his dead son.
If it had been any other cat, perhaps Oakstar wouldn’t have done that, like how Appledusk was allowed to stay in RiverClan.
But that’s just a theory!
