StarClan is the worst Clan! by Rosefern

Rosefern argues why StarClan isn’t so great after all.

Heyo, Kitties! It’s me again, Rosefern and I’m discussing StarClan—the worst Clan, in my oppinion. I have three reasons for believing this and Ima explain each one in detail:
Reason number one: unfair decisions wether a cat is to join them or to go to the Dark Forest.
That was really badly worded. And it may be obvious to some of you that I’m thinking of Juniperclaw, and not so obvious, Mudclaw. Let’s see…Mudclaw caused the death of at least a few cats, didn’t atone, and got into StarClan, because Tallstar said that he thought he was doing what was right for his Clan. Juniperclaw, ALMOST killed ONE cat because he thought he was doing what was right for his Clan (sound familiar?), was exiled and then saved a kit and a pregnant queen gosh that’s atonement!!! And he gets sent to the DF anyway. My main theory: StarClan picks favorites—Tallstar trusted Mudclaw with his life pretty much he just didn’t think he’d make a good leader. So of course if it was his choice he’d let Mudclaw into StarClan, Juniperclaw on the other hand didn’t seem to be very trusted given how much the other ShadowClan cats who joined the Kin and died had to wander before getting into StarClan, so ofcourse StarClan would find reasons to assume the worst from him.
And about Ashfur, Leafpool and Squilf and also the thing about Gray Wing in A Light In The Mist, Gray Wing said that Ashfur was let into StarClan because they’d thought he’d atoned. LITERALLY HOW???!!!! Just because he simply loved too much? In that exact same paragraph practically he said theres no point in trying to atone after your dead the point is following the Warrior Code when you’re alive. Those things, like, totally contridict one another. Also Squilf and Leafpool were put on trial and nearly sent to the DF for what?—A little less than Ashfur’s loving too much? Not to mention Bluestar and Yellowfang the main cats from their trial had both had forbidden love.
OK that’s my rant. Wowie I had a lot of energy to release!
Reason number two: all this destiny and the future stuff.
I don’t like this at all, another major flaw. The Great Hunger in Goosefeather’s Curse is a prime example. Goosefeather received a vision about the Great Hunger and tried to prevent it from happening — it didn’t work—all attempts were thwarted. Honestly you would’ve thought StarClan was just trying to rub it in Goosefeather’s face he couldn’t change it, to teach him a lesson. Literally! Like, you can’t change the past you can’t change the future…so what CAN you change? You can’t even change YOURSELF it seems because your DESTINY says you’ll become a murderer. And what’s the point of visions, anyway? To scare people…err…cats? To prepare them for…what exactly? How are they even gonna prepare the only thing they can prepare for is a bunch of cats dying beyond their control because it’s “their time to die”?
Also, the line is blurry between what’s destiny and what’s not, especially after the Cinderpelt/Cinderheart catastrophe. Perhaps more StarClan picks favorites if Cinderpelt gets to live again because of a broken leg, forcing her to become a med-cat, what about Briarlight, who broke her SPINE and got PARALYZED and couldn’t even become a full med-cat???!!!! *Scornful* Was that her destiny??? Literally how??? That makes zero sense!!!!! I don’t even agree with Cinderpelt’s spirit getting to live on in Cinderheart it’s very unfair to the latter cat if you ask me. Of course StarClan was like “Oh Cinderpelt needs to have a second life because her destiny was twisted”. Didn’t even think about poor Cinderheart.
So, my interpretation of “destiny” is what StarClan, or any other spirit cats want to happen, if that means they care more about Mudclaw than Juniperclaw, Cinderpelt more than Briarlight (Or Cinderheart for that matter LOL) that’s fine by them they just wanna look good and wise and awesome. And sometimes they are, but not in the ways I just talked about.
Reason number three: Not giving help to RiverClan or SkyClan sooner.
StarClan for one let the other four Clans kick SkyClan out, and didn’t help ontil like seasons later when SkyClan was long since destroyed. Also they didn’t help RiverClan in ASC, (Random sidenote: these days we’re getting way too many cats with no connection to StarClan) and left them with, yes, A Starless Clan, which I believe is what the book series is named for LOL. But anyways, this is just about StarClan being lazy. Check out this quote:
“Hard times come to every Clan in every season. The warrior code doesn’t offer the promise of an easy life. There will be much debate and fighting—” Yellowfang, The Fourth Apprentice, page 64.
Sometimes this is true, but well StarClan taking it too far. It’s time for them to start recognizing when a Clan actually needs help, like RiverClan is right now and SkyClan was back in the forest, they only then realized they did something wrong when a whole Clan practically went extinct and (my oppinion) had to do something in order to hold up their reputation. I think based on the blurb of Thunder that Riverstar is gonna help Frostpaw, and that’s all good and well, but still this is only when they know they have to for a Clan not to go extinct. What I want from this in the books:
I want a StarClan rebellion or something, maybe even in ASC it seems like a good series to do this. I mentioned this in a earlier article, that one of the many reasons I want Cinderheart as leader is because she of all cats would understand the trauma StarClan’s bad decisions can inflict on someone. I don’t want war against StarClan we all saw how THAT worked out, with Bluestar, but I want someone, or multiple someones, to realize StarClan is severely flawed and stand up to them.
I hope you enjoyed my article! Feel free to post your own oppinions in the comments.
