Onestar Undid what Tallstar Did by Wisteriacrow

Wisteriacrow takes a look at Onestar’s actions during his tenure as leader.

Hey! Wisteriacrow in da house! Today I’ll be analyzing why Onestar basically undid Tallstar’s work!

Onestar destroyed Windclan by undoing all that Tallstar did. His leadership went downhill the moment he betrayed Firestar. Added bonus with the whole Darktail introduction. Glad he’s dead although Harestar isn’t better.

Why he shouldn’t have betrayed Firestar.
In an effort to prove his leadership, Onestar becomes bitter and distant with ThunderClan. This makes it worse for Windclan as Onestar leads Windclan into battle. Battle causes wounds which aren’t great. He accuses Firestar of watching others suffer and waiting for them to beg for help as if he is a StarClan cat. This just makes the battle worse as he leads his clan into war. Then Riverclan fought with Windclan, meaning Shadowclan had to help Thunderclan. This just causes more wounds which doesn’t help anyone despite the season! Here’s a selection from the article ‘Analyzing Onestar’s and Firestar’s Relationship’ by Mistwish.

“He was driven to believe that his clan was weak, and wanted to prove that to be wrong, basically destroying his friendship with Firestar. I think Firestar had something to do with it too. Think about it. Firestar had always acted like ThunderClan was superior to the other clans, even if he didn’t realize it. He always tried to help everyone, making the other clans feel like he thought his clan was strongest out of the four. So Onestar was probably fed up. But that doesn’t give reason for war and trying to wipe out another clan.”

He didn’t deserve Whitetail.
According to Warriors Wiki,

“Whitetail gained a reputation for being clever, patient, and understanding.”

Onestar wasn’t this at all after he became a warrior, which is one thing.
When Onestar first started being mates with Whitetail he was still with the kitty-pet Smoke, so technically he was cheating and tricking two different she-cats. After breaking up with Smoke he still kept her and his kit, Darkkit…. Yes he had kits with a she-cat he was breaking up with… so he kept his kit and mate a secret. But then dun dun dun! Darkkit, now Darktail confronts and takes over Shadowclan! He kills, tortures, and banishes tons of cats, Poor Needletail. And all this because Onestar rejected him as a kit!

3. Onestar did the same thing Tallstar accused Mudclaw of doing

Onestar began to antagonize ThunderClan for no reason for the most part, picking fights and saying hurtful things to Firestar that could’ve started battles…and he did start battles with them. Tallstar thought Mudclaw would hate on ThunderClan for no reason and would start petty fights, yet it turned out that Onestar was the cat who did that. Onestar refused to keep the peace. He was hypocritical in Winds Of Change when he told Mudclaw off for what he said about ThunderClan because he literally said worse things about them in later books. He sneers at Firestar for being helpful in the same way Tallstar was scared Mudclaw would do. He had poor communication with them in times of need and even refused to help the other Clans one time too many.

In conclusion Onestar wasn’t a good leader, although I’m kind of glad he’s gone… Harestar is definitely not much better!
