Investigating Silverstream x Graystripe by Sunheart

Sunheart takes a closer look at Silverstream and Graystripe’s relationship.

Hello, Blogclan! In this article I thought I would do an investigation on one of the most debated-over Relationships! *Drum roll* Silverstream and Graystripe!

Now, the thing that really starts arguments between bloggers is whether or not GrayxSilver was necessary. Well, after a bit of research, it WAS necessary. If there was no Silverstream in Graystripe’s life, there would be no Feathertail and Stormfur. Without Feathertail, the Tribe of Rushing water would have been wiped out by Sharptooth, and with no Tribe, the Clans would lose a very important ally and place to stay when they traveled to their new home. Speaking of a new home, without Feathertail and Stormfur, there would probably be no ‘new home’ for the clans by the lake, since they won’t have the right selection of cats to lead them there. Also, without Stormpaw and Featherpaw’s trial, Mistyfoot probably would’ve been killed right on the spot! Without Mistyfoot there would be no Mistystar, which would have led to HAWKSTAR. Yeah, no thanks! And to go right back to the beginning of their relationship, Graystripe probably would have drowned if it weren’t for Silverstream coming to his rescue. Then, with Graystripe dead, there would be no Blossomfall, Briarlight, Bumblestripe, Feathertail & Stormfur, (I’ve already mentioned how disastrous everything would be without those two,) and don’t get me started on grandchildren! Those of which would be Stemleaf, Shellfur, Plumstone, Eaglewing, Pine, Feather, Lark, and Breeze. And now, to the GREAT-Grandchildren. We have Bristlekit, Stemkit, and Graykit. So yeah. All thanks to Silverstream.

So we know that their relationship was necessary, but was it mature to go against the Warrior code? According to cat year charts, they were around 19 and 21 when they developed a relationship. I’d say they were about 20 and 22 when they had kits. As a point of reference, Sandstorm and Firestar were around 25 when they became mates, and around 26 when they had kits. I’d say 25 and up is a good time to find a warrior mate. So technically Graystripe and Silverstream were a little bit young for a full-fledged forbidden relationship. If they were in the same clan it would be totally fine, but it was a bit of a stretch to break the warrior code for it’s sake. In all, however, it benefited the Warriors series A LOT!
