Tigerheartstar: A Cat With A Lack Of Common Sense by Hollykit

Hollykit takes a look at the second Tigerstar’s actions.

Hey, everyone! Hollykit here with another article (I might as well be Hollypaw when this releases :P). Today, I’ll be talking about my second-least favorite character, Tigerheartstar. He can be severely annoying and unreasonable, and he could contend with the title “the most unreasonable character/leader” with Onestar. I’m about to explain why!

If you didn’t know, I’ve made an article talking about why Dovewing is my least favorite character. She does things for herself in dangerous situations (like when she literally tries to regain her powers in the tunnels WHILE THUNDERCLAN IS RECOVERING FROM A FLOOD). Apparently, this quality makes Tigerheartstar and Dovewing a perfect match, because Tigerheartstar has done a selfish thing during a time of crisis (when he left his Clan as deputy while ShadowClan is suffering/recovering from Darktail’s reign). ShadowClan was at its lowest point, and it almost was lost under Darktail’s period of tyranny. And Tigerheartstar was the deputy at the time. Rowanstar was weak, and it was clear he needed his deputy to support him. Tigerheartstar, being as supportive as ever, leaves with Dovewing to go on a journey. Long story short, Tigerheartstar abandoned his Clan and kin when they needed him most.

Moving on to A Starless Clan. Tigerheartstar does many wrong things in this arc. I’ll try to list/remember them all. So, first of all, Rowankit, his son, gets severely sick. It’s clear that more catmint for Rowankit are required. Tigerheartstar send patrols to the four other Clans to ask for catmint. When he goes to RiverClan and asks Mothwing for some herbs. When Mothwing politely says she doesn’t have any, Tigerheartstar throws a tantrum, thinking that RiverClan doesn’t want to give him herbs to save his son. I’ve seen many examples of this in real life with people I know, and it infuriates me. So imagine how I felt when I read Tigerheartstar throwing a hissy fit.

He also takes over RiverClan. He says he’s just acting as a temporary leader, and not taking over, but I disagree. He forcefully takes over RiverClan. When RiverClan refuses, a battle goes on between them, and Tigerheartstar doesn’t even try to stop them.
