Pantherprowl takes a look at WindClan’s purpose in the series.
Now I’m pantherprowl hi, :3 and I have spent FOREVER working on this so pls don’t yell at me in the comments this is my opinion Windclan fans so sorry. Now in my opinion we don’t need Windclan in the series. They only exist. Books about Windclan are not engaging and are in my opinion not worth reading. They fight hunt and cause problems between the clans and the clans are already at each other’s throats so not helping Windclan. They waste greystripe and fireheart/stars’ time trying to find them. Four seasons Four trees, Four clans. Take away Windclan, leafbare, and Windclan’s tree so we have three seasons three trees and three clans. The only thing Windclan does is fight and hunt. They are pretty DRAMATIC *mudfur* and is where villains are born, mudfur, dark tail, and more. They only cause problems and waste my time reading about them in the books. So I think that Windclan needs to hightail it out of here and leave. They cause problems and make the clans more agitated at each other. They give us villains and are DRAMATIC. *mudfur* and are unnecessary in the climax of the books. Windclan’s territory is practically useless and they have so much prey that they waste and grow fat on while other clans such as Riverclan and Thunderclan, struggle to catch prey and are skin and bones. Riverclan gave them water to drink when theirs was dry, they also hunted the Riverclan prey that Riverclan needed to survive on because of the poisoned river and how does Windclan repay them? They DON’T. They just used up VALUABLE prey and water to Riverclan, they grow fat while Riverclan starves. They are absolutely disgusting and unnecessary to the books’ climax. They are USELESS utterly ridiculous too. Put no/wc if you understand and if it gets published. Also I HATE mudfur and darktail and wish they NEVER existed in the first place. If you agree put no/md (md=mudfur) and/or no/dt (dt=darktail) but only if you agree that they shouldn’t exist for all of their trouble caused by them. You don’t have to. I will try to post more articles pls remember these take a long time for me to create so sorry this one took so long. – pantherprowl I hope you enjoyed reading this article if it gets posted so yeah. :3
I don’t really agree. First of all, water isn’t really valuable to RiverClan, since they live around rivers. Second, Mudfur is in RiverClan. Third, WindClan endures the worst cold of all and they have the least variety of prey during even Green-leaf. Fourth, had WindClan really grown fat, would their descriptions all be lithe, lean, small, or things like that? No. WindClan is necessary to the plot, not USELESS and DISGUSTING. Have you read DotC? The whole plot is supported by WindClan. But you made some really good points!
Yeah windclan lives the hardest life of all the clans (excluding skyclan) and windclan was the first clan.
Yeah very very true
oh yeah i think they mean mudclaw who was the deputy before onestar.
I commend you for an article well-written! WindClan has been and always will be my favorite Clan of the series, though. Some of my happiest memories of this series are there, specifically when Tallpaw is being trained to run fast and he’s pushing himself because he’s so bad at it, and then picturing him there day after day, and knowing that he’d go on to be the fastest warrior in all the Clans. It’s poetic sniffle sniffle
Interesting!
also by Mudfur do you mean Mudclaw? cuz Mudur was th riverclan med cat
WindClan isn’t useless, it’s just that the Erins don’t want to make a WindClan protagonist. WindClan is actually my 3rd favourite clan, after SkyClan and ShadowClan, because they’re so underappreciated. also, it’s Mudclaw, not Mudfur. Mudfur’s RiverClan
I think you might mean Mudclaw, not Mudfur, because that was RiverClan’s last medicine cat in the forest territories?
You meant to say Mudclaw ._.
This was a great article! 🙂 I’d have to disagree however! Windclan has their tunneling / moor running culture which is wholly unique to them! I always felt that that was pretty cool of them!
Conflicts *within* clans also aren’t something we see often beyond the general “medicine cat/warrior” arguments that get made in every book so Windclan has another point towards their breaking of the mold.
Not only that, but their exile in the first set of books was such a stand-out plot point! It hasn’t happened since, and we got our first good look at what was beyond White Hart Woods / Chelford during the journey that Fire and Gray took to go find them.
Yes, we get the Tribe, and the Lake Territory later on, and there’s plenty of travelling involved there but that first journey to return Windclan to their rightful place in the Forest has always stuck out to me.
Anyway, I think Windclan is totally awesome! 🙂
Great article! But I disagree. I do think Windclan needs more attention. It was one of the 4 original Clans. 4 trees. 4 seasons. You know what I think we should get rid of? SkyClan! SkyClan wasn’t meant to exist it was just a plot device. Popped in out of no where because the Erins needed story ideas. And then they start dumping all the attention on this new Clan, instead of the original Clan they were neglecting 🙁 That’s my oppinion, though.
I agree! I mean, the cats in SkyClan are fine but the clan itself was unneeded for the books
Agreed
That is pretty valid, though SkyClan is probably my second favorite Clan just because of their amazing and interesting history, and how they worked so hard to build themselves up again. I love reading about Leafstar and their whole culture, too, I know the Erins probably used them because they were out of ideas but I still really like them. I think they still belong in the books, and the Erins could still make WindClan share some of the spotlight with all the Clans even with SkyClan.
True 🙂
Nice article! While I don’t agree that WindClan doesn’t deserve a spot in the Warriors series I do understand what you mean. But to be honest, we would get a way better view of WindClan if we are ever given a ‘WindClan Arc’ as all the other arcs have other focus characters from other clans. And yes, there are some bad cats from WindClan, but there are way more bad cats in all the other clans like ThunderClan has Tigerstar I, Mapleshade and Ashfur etc.
Hi Panther!
I was intrigued by your article, but I have to say I disagree with your points. WindClan isn’t useless; I think you might’ve forgotten to point out that RiverClan was willing to leave the other clans to die before the Great Journey, and that they were more than happy to hunt on WindClan’s territory and dishonor their legacy when they’d gotten chased off by a nasty leader called Brokenstar.
I’m not trying to be harsh, but I just feel like RiverClan has also made a lot of mistakes that need to be pointed out. Also, it’s Mudclaw, not Mudfur. 🙂
I. Seriously. Disagree, No offence, but even WindClan is useful. Like, what you said about WindClan having the most prey is completely. Wrong. How many times has Tallstar admitted that there isn’t enough prey in WindClan? Even during Tallstar’s reign only. Since when did WindClan ever grow fat? Nah. Furthermore, the moor is completely open and vulnerable to the elements. And during leaf-bare/winter, it’s not like they have a great variety of prey either. In TNP, so many WindClan cats died because they couldn’t eat their main source of food! WindClan is essential to the plot, and even if you raised some good points and I know this is your opinion, I still disagree.
Don’t take it too seriously because this is just my opinion. Cool article anyways!
(In case you didn’t know, Mudfur was RiverClan.)
great article! (but personally i disagree because crowfeather’s trial was chefs kiss(just my biased humble opinion))
Great article with great points! Unfortunately I can’t agree. I might be a little bit biased, but WindClan is better than everyone thinks and is honestly a bit underrated. They starved (not fat and lazy, lithe and agile!) They survived! They proved that they are awesome. Also, no other clan can catch a clean rabbit. WindClan is def vital to the story! WindClan is the clan which likes peace, and I think without them, the story is incomplete.
I know you said ‘don’t yell at me in the comments’ and I hope I’m not! I think you proved some very fair points, *and this was def worth reading, but sorry, I’m biased, and WindClan deserves better*
