Comparing songs to the Warriors world–Christmas edition!! by Flamepaw

Flamepaw relates characters and scenarios from the Warriors books to Christmas songs.

Hi hi everybody!!! It’s your resident Hamilton addict Alexander Flamilton (Flamepaw) back again with another article! This time, I’ll be matching up Christmas songs and Warriors characters/scenes/relationships/etc., and I’m really excited because Christmas is my very favorite time of the year! (And I’m hoping this comes out in December-ish–I’m writing this in early October! 😀) After all, Buddy the elf did once say that “Christmas is the greatest day in the whole wide world”, and I can’t say he’s wrong! 😉

First of all, I’ll start with Last Christmas, which is one of my favorite Christmas songs!
Personally, I feel like this song fits Ashfur and Squilf really well ( last Christmas, I gave you my heart, but the very next day, you gave it away )! Ashfur is saying how his lover “gave away his heart”, which makes a lot of sense, seeing as Ashfur never took another romantic partner (unless you ship Ash x Hawk) and he resorted to villainy in both trapping and threatening his ex and her “kits” in a fire and later possessing his said ex’s husband from the grave which is obviously lovely stuff haha :DD
So here’s my revised lyrics (it’s almost exactly the same if not the exact same):

What do you think? Personally, I like it, but I would’ve liked it if I had done any scenario because I love Christmas and Christmas music, haha. 😛

Next up is another one of my favorites that I feel isn’t as common, Cold December Night by Michael Bublé!

I feel like this would really suit Firestar singing to Sandstorm because it’s narrated by a guy asking his love to be with him, and I feel like that’s kind of how it went with Firey–Sandstorm liked him too but didn’t want to ask him because of Spotted so he asked her (Fire x Sand melts my heart ❤️).

The next song I picked is Merry Xmas (War is Over) by John Lennon and Yoko Ono!
This song gives me post-Great Battle (OotS) vibes, and I feel like Ivypool would be the singer! I also feel like some of the lyrics also fit with her dealing with Dovewing leaving to go to ShadowClan with Tigerheart, too! I’ve always really liked this idea so I’m excited to see what happens haha! 😛

I really like the sound of that! What do you guys think? 😀
The next song I picked is Santa Tell Me, and I personally quite like that song!
I feel like this song really fits Cinderpelt. She’s saying she wants to find a love who won’t move on within the next year and says that she’s avoiding all love until he says something to her, basically, and I feel like that “he” would be Firestar. (Shocker, I know 😛)

Moving on to our next song, which is Mistletoe, by Justin Bieber!

The narrator is saying that he should be hanging out with his friends or partaking in normal holiday decorations, but he’d rather be spending time with the person he loves. Personally, I feel like this really suits Cloudtail, because instead of doing normal warrior duties, he tries helping Brightheart as much as possible.
Honestly, I don’t think the lyrics need to be tweaked at all, so I’m not going to post the lyrics, but I recommend you listen to the song because it’s a really beautiful song! ❤️

The second-to-last song I’m doing will make all you Swifties happy, it’s Christmas Tree Farm by none other than Taylor! *pauses as Silvie and Swifties cheer maniacally*
The narrator (Taylor) is saying she’s having a really busy and stressful life and that in her fantasy she’d be with the person she loves at a Christmas tree farm where everyone is carefree and happy. In a way, I feel like this really fits Ivypool as though she was singing to Bristlefrost! (“You would be there, too.”) I also feel like the first verses where she talks about being busy and her life filled with static really fits Ivypool because (spoilers for Thunder!!!) in the excerpt released for Thunder, Ivypool is named as ThunderClan’s new deputy so long as Squilf does get accepted as the new leader, and it’s common knowledge in the Warriors fandom that the job of a Clan’s deputy can be very stressful at times.

The last song I’m going to do is I Don’t Know What Christmas Is, But Christmastime is Here, from the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special! In my personal opinion, I love this song and I think it’s basically the most fabulous Christmas song ever written, but that’s just me probably. 😛
I honestly don’t think that any of the lyrics need to be changed, but I totally imagine this as Firestar explaining to ThunderClan about this mysterious holiday his Twolegs celebrated–and made him partake in as well, hehe. That honestly sounds beautiful. ✨
