Hello, BlogClan! I’m excited to be writing this post today and tell you all that I’m bringing back the BlogClan Contests! 😀
Back when I was a ‘paw (in 2019 – that’s not that long ago I swear!) I remember the monthly contests that Rainie would run – there would be art contests, writing contests, caption contests and more! I remember being so excited when on the first of the month, the winners of the past month’s contests would be revealed and new contests would begin. I hope that the contests might be something you will look forward to as well!
HOW THIS WILL WORK
Every month, (or as often as I can – there are some months this year where I will be too busy, so my apologies in advance) I will create a post revealing the winners of the previous contests. I will also give some positive feedback for every entry in a writing or art contest, as every entry is awesome and has lots of great things to say about it. 😀 The winners can then claim their prizes in the comments below – the prizes may vary from contest to contest. Then, a new set of contests will be opened, which BlogClanners can enter up until the deadline published. It’s as simple as that!
THE CONTESTS
Now all the explaining is done, we can get onto the exciting part: the contests themselves!!
This edition of the contests, there will be a poetry contest, a caption contest, and an art contest!
A FEW RULES:
- One entry per contest per person. (you may enter as many of the contests as you would like, but only enter each contest once, please. If you enter multiple times for one contest, I will only count your first submission.)
- Entries must be submitted before the deadline to be judged! (I’ll try my best to remove the form when the deadline has passed)
- Entries must be submitted through the form. (this removes any risk of copying etc. as no one can see anyone else’s entry)
- The content of your entries must still be in line with the BlogClan rules and be BlogClan appropriate.
POETRY CONTEST
For this contest, you will need to write a haiku based on an aspect of Clan life from the Warriors books. This can be any aspect you choose and you can be as creative as you like.
A haiku is a Japanese form of poetry where the poem consists of three lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables, and the third line has 5 syllables.
An example haiku I will write about snow (since it’s winter in the northern hemisphere) is:
The flakes fall gently
A soft blanket over fields
Where a robin chirps
Yes, this means that you are very tight on words, and you will need to think carefully about what to include and how to capture the aspect of the Clans’ life you have chosen in few words. As well, you will need make sure that your lines fit the syllable pattern of a haiku. (listed above)
Hopefully you will enjoy the challenge of creating your haiku, as well as be pleased with the result – they don’t take massively long to write and it’s amazing what vibrant imagery you can conjure with so little words.
The deadline for this contest is 09:00 am UTC+1 (Blog time) on March 1st 2024. Good luck and have fun! 😀
CAPTION CONTEST
For this contest, you will need to come up with a funny caption for the picture below!
Your caption may be as long or short as you’d like, and I would absolutely encourage being creative for this! 🙂
Of course, Blog rules still apply so make sure that your caption is Blog appropriate ( 😛 ) and simply don’t write anything in your caption that you wouldn’t post in a comment on the Blog.
The deadline for this contest is 09:00 am UTC+1 (Blog time) on March 1st 2024. Good luck and have fun! 😀
ART CONTEST
For this contest, you will need to create an artwork of either some of your favourite Warriors characters or some of your OCs enjoying a snow day. Your artwork can be any medium, as long as you can upload a file of it or submit a photo of it.
You can also tell me a little about who you have chosen to include and about your artwork in general when you submit it. 🙂
The deadline for this contest is 09:00 am UTC+1 (Blog time) on March 1st 2024. Good luck and have fun! 😀
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRIES
Please submit your entries via the form below!
The contests are now closed! Look out for the results post coming soon. 🙂
TROUBLESHOOTING:
My file won’t upload! -> it exceeds the maximum file limit for our site! Please shrink the file or photo size and then reupload. On a laptop, if you open the image you should have the option to ‘resize image’ (on my windows laptop this is when you right click with your mouse over the image). On a tablet or phone, you can screenshot your image and then crop the screenshot.
I don’t want my entry to get cut off! -> if you are entering a written contest, then I would highly recommend writing your entry somewhere else (e.g. a google doc) and then copy and pasting the contents into the form so that you still have a copy of it yourself in case it gets cut off.
And that’s all! I hope you enjoyed this post and are interested in entering some of the contests! If you have any questions, then write them in the comments below and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can! 🙂
Have a great day! <3
Update: I have fully judged one contest and am half way through judging the other two. The post looks very long so far – it is already an 8 minute read 😅
Hopefully I can get it out soon!
Awesome, take your time <3
Argh! I forgot to submit my artwork 🙁
Aww no! If you want, I can still put it in the post, and write something about it?
Yayyy TYSM! So excited to read it😀👽🍉🍨
Hi just wondering when these will be judged?
Thanks!
It’s so awesome that the contests are back!! I’ve always wanted them to come back 🙂 I hope I’m able to participate in the next one! 🙂
