Curlfeather literally does not understand the concept of right and wrong. To her, actions have no morality to them; there is no good or evil, or right and wrong in her eyes.
Curlfeather does have a moral compass. Her fatal flaw was that she was an extremist. However, I truly believe that Curlfeather’s intentions were noble whatever selfish side there is to her in the present.

If you want spoilers, the names of Nightheart’s and Sunbeam’s kits are confirmed on the official warriors website in the Changing Skies: Elders’ Quest chapters 😛
was really looking forward to having a third Emberdawn (Sunbeam suggested Emberkit for one of their kits’ names) but unfortunately it seems that shall only be a dream, as we have the first 3 chapters of TEQ literally a week after Star came out 😛

I wish I could say the last Warriors book I was going to read before not reading Changing Skies was amazing. But we can’t always get what we wish for 🙁 I really didn’t like it it was really basic except I liked the insult fishlicker and Mistpool’s name, but otherwise it was basic and I know I won’t regret skipping out on Changing Skies.
What happens in the book, if someone could give me a little rundown of events, please!

Since all Dark Forest’s cats are evil, why don’t they kill each other? Curlfeather & Splashtail are both in the Dark Forest so will they kill one another since they do hate each other? Also, the same with Mapleshade and Frecklewish as why Mapleshade didn’t kill Frecklewish in the Dark Forest?
kate is stepping away from the site ^^ of course since i’m not an author, i don’t know the answer, but maybe the dark forest gives cats new perspectives, and whether for the better or worse, put old battles behind them? like if mapleshade is plotting to wreak havoc on appledusk’s bloodline, she probably doesn’t have time to find frecklewish in the vast expanse of dark forest and try to kill her. Or maybe in her mind it just seems like a meaningless venture since the dark forest is meant to contain eternal suffering, so frecklewish isn’t having a great time already.

I adored this book – and the arc in general. The writers seem to be paying a lot more attention to cat relationships (Nightheart has foster siblings! He REMEMBERS he has foster siblings! At some point in an earlier book, said foster siblings gather around to tell their new sister-in-law embarassing kithood stories about him! I loved it), and to the messages the books give (after Fernpaw/Dustpelt and other messed up warrior/apprentice ships, we got Frostpaw’s relationship with Splashtail actually have a negative/dangerous outcome, and we got the scene when Nightheart tells her it wasn’t her fault – it’s just a HUGE step froward), which makes them all the more enjoyable. Also, the ending Sunbeam and Berryheart got… Was so bittersweet and well-written in my opinion. The way Sunbeam keeps thinking about the damage Berryheart did to her during her vigil, and then the line “What we want is not always what we get.” The Sunbeam/Berryheart storyline is gonna stick with me for a WHILE, and I’m glad in the end we get her not wanting to name a kit after Berryheart and saying “And I’d rather forget about the past. My future is more important to me.” Also, by now I’m so onboard with NightSun! Their relationship is so sweet and healthy and honestly refreshing in a Warriors book. Also, he worries about her nonstop when she’s not around and it’s adorable.
Frostpaw and Curlfeather’s last conversation and her realizing her mom is never going to see what she did wrong is…Also heartbreaking. I think ASC handled troubled family relations so well. We get her basically recognizing Curlfeather’s love was always conditional, and a few pages later we get “But now she was hovering over Frostpaw like a queen over her kit,” regarding Mothwing which implies Frostpaw/dawn might actually get the love she needs in life, without having to die and meet her dad.
Also I laughed out loud when I saw the names of Nightheart’s kits. Goldenkit, a golden tabby, and Shinykit, a black kit (who I’m guessing is shiny-furred). Dude is NOT repeating past mistakes xD
Frostdawn and Whistlebreeze are lovely names, and I hope they remain as friends (are we getting a new Mothwing and Leafpool set? I’m all for it)
