CloudPaw shares their thoughts on forbidden relationships.
So, me, CloudPaw/Song, have finally finished HALF of YellowFang’s Secret, and I must say- Seriously, how unfair to YellowFang StarClan was! Yes, btw, there will be spoilers for YellowFang’s Secret and The Broken Code ARC, as well as ASC River here- so if you haven’t read one of those books, or perhaps all of them, then you have been warned. Anyways, for everybody who’s still here- I presume you are all caught up- good, let’s begin.
So, like I said, I made this because of YellowFang’s Secret, aka a repeat of the “Secret” that she was BrokenStar’s mother. I must say, I feel bad for her- having to deal with others pain. I mean, does she even know when the pain is hers or not? Well, she does- sort of. According to page 306, atleast, “YellowFang tried to block out the sensation, wondering which of the queens around her could be expecting kits. But the wriggling went on, even though YellowFang held her breath with the effort to concentrate on her own stomach. Which meant that these weren’t the feelings belonging to another cat. These were truly inside her belly, kicking and squirming and growing…” Wow, uh- that’s a lot to take in, YellowFang, but- well. Anyways, she wants these kits, but she doesn’t want to anger StarClan either. She full on tries to hide the fact she’s pregnant, and basically lies about who BrokenKit’s mother is to every cat except RaggedPelt, the father, just so she can continue her duties as normal, hoping that StarClan won’t be angry with her for breaking the code! seriously! Moth Flight, the original creator of that part of the code, apparently states that when she had been pregnant with her kits, she felt some sort of sadness or whatever for not being there for them, not watching them being raised, and she put that code in place to “prevent more tragedy for other cats in the future.” Miss mam, I don’t know who’s tragedy your trying to prevent, but your little code made WAY more tragedy than it prevented! In my opinion, medicine cats should be able to choose if they want to give birth or not, like normal warriors. So what if they have a special connection to StarClan?! Most of them didn’t choose to become a Medicine Cat, unlike YellowFang, but SageWhisker basically annoyed her way much, which is the reason she choose that path, so SageWhisker wouldn’t be so buggy about her powers. Yeah right, more like a curse! Anyways, like I said, they should change that part of the code. Moth Flight, you can’t prevent tragedy, there is no way for that- no matter what, tragedy will happen. Sure, the medicine cat mothers won’t get to care for their kits as they grow, but hey, that’s better than not being able to care for their kits as they grow, and holding the burden to not have them in the first place! Sure, YellowFang and LeafPool shouldn’t have made a fling with RaggedPelt or CrowFeather in the first place, but still! For some reason, the Erins decided to focus more on “half-clan” relationships, which are also banned, mouse-brainly enough. However, Medicine cats not allowed to give birth? Just- why? Think about this a bit. You deny Medicine cats to give birth, which means they aren’t allowed to bear warriors, which means less defense, which means more likelihood of the clan dying off. Oh, and the Half-Clan relationships not being allowed is ridiculous because, you know, in-breeding? Anyways, I have nothing more to rant about, other than that StarClan Is pretty dumb. Yeah, bye from CloudPaw!
Great article! First?
I was so confused for a minute, until I realized, “Oh, yeah, THAT one- I forgot about it :P”
I guess I got a article on the first day of March then…
(I think I’m forgetting all my articles, help :P)
Great article, although I personally don’t really agree. They’re overused and they cause just too much trouble in the ways I’ve seen them
Yeah, they are overused, but think about this: if the code was changed, it would cause way less problems!
Great article! I feel like the Med cat code does more harm than good.
I really like this article! I don’t no how many times i’ve thought “boy, starclan is pretty dumb” too 😅 😂
nice article
I recently read Moth Flights Vision, and I feel so bad for Acorn Fur! She and Red Claw are so cute!
