Hey, Blogclanners! This is your host, Chao, here to present to you, “Giving Warrior Cats and Main Events Theme Songs, Part One!”
1. Firestar
Centuries – Fall Out Boy
The reason Firestar’s theme song would be Centuries is obvious when you read the lyrics. The verses that especially related to Firestar were:
“Some legends are told, some turn to dust or to gold / But you will remember me / You will remember me for centuries / And just one mistake is all it will take / We’ll go down in history…”
To me, “And just one mistake is all it will take”, would relate to Firestar’s accidental trespassing to Thunderclan territory, which then led to his apprenticeship as a warrior cat. Let me know what other song you think Firestar’s theme song would be.
2. Thunderstar
Thunder – Imagine Dragons
The name of the song should explain this choice, but the lyrics are just as convincing, such as the opening verses of the song below:
“Just a young gun with a quick fuse / I was uptight, wanna let loose / I was dreaming of bigger things and / Wanna leave my old life behind / Not a “Yes, sir”, not a follower / Fit the box, fit the mold / Have a seat in the foyer, take a number / I was lightning before the thunder”
“Just a young gun with a quick fuse” could refer to Thunder’s youth, as he was sometimes quite rebellious in his own way and wanted to walk his own path. The following verses after the opening line also match with Thunder’s hotheadedness and his transition from trying to fit in and then becoming his own “thunder”.
3. “Blood will spill blood, and the lake will run red…”
Blood // Water – grandson
When I listened to this song, I felt as if grandson had read the second arc of the Warriors series and had written a song about it. Obviously not the case, as his songs are usually anti-government or borderline anti-governemnt, but just read the lyrics of this ballad. Imagine Brambleclaw singing this–the intro–to his father.
“Look me in my eyes / Tell me everything’s not fine / Oh, the people ain’t happy / And the river has run dry”
“The river has run dry”? Any bells ringing?
Now read the chorus:
“We’ll never get free, lamb to the slaughter / What you got’ do when there’s blood in the water? / The price of your greed is your son and your daughter / What you got’ do when there’s blood in the water?”
“blood in the water”, anyone? “The price of your green is your son and your daughter” would refer to Tigerstar’s children.
Now just read a line from the bridge:
“When the last tree’s fallen, the animal can’t hide”
Doesn’t this just remind you of how the humans (two-legs) bulldozed the forest?
4. Scourge’s Childhood
Boy in the Bubble – Alec Benjamin
The pop song really relates to Scourge’s (Tiny) hard life as the runt of the litter. The song is a story about a boy who didn’t want trouble, but is always bullied by somebody who is troubled himself at his home by a not so fatherly father. The song goes on to describe a fight between the two, and it is eerily dark and detailed as it does so. I wouldn’t want to spoil the song for you, but here’s the outro:
“Punch my face / Do it ‘cause I like the pain / Every time you curse my name / I know you want the satisfaction / It’s not gonna happen / Knock me out / Kick me when I’m on the ground / It’s only gonna let you down / Come the lightning and the thunder / You’re the one who’ll suffer”
Doesn’t that just remind you of Scourge’s vicious beating from Tigerstar as a ‘paw, and then how Scourge kills him in the end with an unspeakable and incomparable viscousness. *eyebrow raise*
5. The Dark Forest
Welcome to the Jungle – Guns N’ Roses
Shouldn’t the title simply explain the choice? I wouldn’t waste time including the lyrics. Don’t listen to it if you don’t like odd, hard-rock songs with strangely ‘sung’ verses. I do like hard-rock, but I regretted listening to it.
:/
Well, I’ve got many, many more songs to share, but I would like to conclude with these five songs. A part episode two is in the progress, and if I avoid procrastinating, you will be hopefully reading it soon. Thank you for reading my second article, and I hope you enjoyed it! Please kindly leave constructive criticism in the comments.
Thanks again, and I hope you have a great rest of your week!
