Underrated warrior cats by Mufflepaw

Mufflepaw shines the spotlight on some underrated characters.

Hello blogclanners, it’s mufflepaw/berry! This is my first article, so it may not be the best, sorry! I am going to be listing some warrior cats characters that I believe are underrated and sharing why.

Since warrior cats has so many characters, (over a thousand according to the warriors website) a lot of amazing ones do not get the recognition they deserve, or they become background characters when they had lots of potential. Let’s begin!

(spoiler alert for TPB, TNP, Po3, OoTS and AVoS)

#5 Spottedleaf
Spottedleaf was born to Swiftbreeze and Adderfang alongside Willowpelt and Redtail. She was thunderclan’s medicine cat under Bluestars reign.
I agree with many people that her relationship with Fireheart/star was wrong and disgusting, but overall Spottedleaf was a sweet, beautiful and caring cat. I have seen people describe her as a Mary-Sue but I believe she was perfect for her role in the series! Her first mention was:
“I think he was heading towards Spottedleaf’s den.” Graypaw tipped his head towards the fern-enclosed corner Longtail had disappeared into. “She’s our medicine cat. Not bad looking either. Younger and a lot prettier than most.”
See? She was called beautiful twice in 36 words! Plus, she shared prophecies and gave great advice to many cats.

#4 Tawnypelt
I don’t need to explain much for this. Tawnypelt has always been a loyal, brave shadowclan warrior. My favourite scene including her is in the new prophecy when tigerstar brings her to the dark forest with brambleclaw and Hawkfrost, and she judges her brothers for training with their seriously evil dad. Also, in a vision of shadows, she was very noble and courageous when she stayed with Rowanstar and Tigerheart instead of joining Darktail’s kin. She has served her clan in so many different ways, including having the most apprentices (5, joint with Rosepetal)

#3 Honeyfern
Honeyfern is so sweet! When she was killed by that snake I nearly cried- the fact that her relationship with Berrynose was over before it had really began was so sad. Was she pregnant when she died? And then berrynose got together with poppyfrost, HER SISTER! (that was so wrong- I screamed when I read that bit) sorry about that little rant. But she was the sweetest, funniest most helpful cat, and I just love her to bits.

#2 ferncloud
FERNCLOUD DOES NOT DESERVE HATE! people say she had too many kits, but she in fact did not have the most kits in the series. (Jake had 8 and Snowbird of ShadowClan had 9) She had a lot of character development because she lost multiple of her kits (only three survived). People also say that she wasted her warrior training, but she fought in the great battle and she always defended the nursery. Ferncloud didn’t just bring up her own kits; she assisted countless queens and often fed Leafpool’s kits.

#1 Goldenflower
Goldenflower is the character that I think deserves a super edition the most. She went through so much, but she barely gets any recognition and she just dies without anyone saying a word! So many awful things happen to her; first her sibling Mistlekit dies at a young age, and her father Smallear and mate Patchpelt also die. Soon after, her brother Snowkit is carried away by a hawk, her entire litter (Lynxkit and swiftpaw) die, one of her other kits leaves, and her mate turns out evil. Then in the new prophecy, she is barely even spoken too. However, she does have a very sweet relationship with longtail! Then she dies. Nobody remembers her.
