Why I think Mapleshade was (half) right by Applepaw

Applepaw shares their two cents on the Mapleshade debate.

Hello! I’m a new member of BlogClan and this is my first article, so I’m a bit nervous!
But anyway, here are my thoughts on Mapleshade –

So, I love Mapleshade, she is my favourite villain, and, honestly I understand why she did what she did. I mean, if I was in that situation, I’d be pretty mad too. BUT! That doesn’t mean what she did was right, I mean, all the cats that she killed were big jerks, but that doesn’t mean you should kill them! I would have (hopefully) had a little more self control.

Losing all your kits must of been hard, no doubt about it, and hallucinating them asking you to save them while you couldn’t must of been even harder, so, of course you would try to find a way to help! (Even if that way was going on a killing spree).

But, now we have to talk about her and Crookedstar. What she did was totally uncalled for! Like, sure, you’re still really salty about those kits dying, but you don’t have to take it out on others! And the overwhelming guilt he must of felt when he led that dog to Rainflower, like, chill out Mapleshade! Your kits died years ago! Calm the farm, girl!

About the cats she killed –

I’m sort of torn on Frecklewish, on one paw she did watch the kits drown, but on the other paw, I’d be really mad if someone said my dead brother was the father of their child, but it turned out he wasn’t.

I don’t think Ravenwing deserved it, he was just being loyal to his clan! Mapleshade broke the code, so she should be punished, but maybe exile was a step too far.

Appledusk totally deserved it, he was such a jerk! Leaving Mapleshade for Reedshine and blaming her for her kits death! I felt really satisfied when she killed him.

Even if she has done many wrong things (and possibly needs a trip to the therapist) Mapleshade is still my favourite villain, I sympathise with her, losing everyone you love would really suck, honestly. But she did not need to go that far.

Appledusk totally deserved it though.
