Hey everyone! This is Pumpkinpaw here, and this is my first article! Today I will be talking about why StarClan isn’t fair when judging who does or does not get to go.

StarClan is a place where good cats go when they die, but do all the cats there deserve it? Are there cats in the Dark Forest that should go to StarClan? In this article, I will be looking at three cats and showing why StarClan isn’t fair.

#1: Ashfur
Ashfur is a cat that is highly talked about, with what he did in TBC and how he unfairly got accepted into StarClan. Let’s look at his life and why he deserved the Dark Forest.
As a quick summary, Ashfur is a cat who almost killed Squirrelflight’s, her father, and her so called “kits” because she dumped him. He was also going to tell everyone at the Gathering Leafpool’s secret to ruin their lives. The only good things he did was when he was a smoll little apprentice in TPB and a nice person to Squilf. Now, what did StarClan do when he died? He let him join them! All because he “loved too much”.
Let’s compare him to Mapleshade. She is a cat who, like him, loved someone, got their heart broken, and then killed a bunch of cats in revenge. Basically what Ashfur did, except he failed in killing the cats. So does that mean that the only difference between going to StarClan and the Dark Forest is whether or not you succeed in your malicious plans? What about Hawkfrost? He tried to kill Firestar with Ashfur, plotted with Mudclaw to overthrow Onewhisker(star), and I’m pretty sure he tried to kill someone else, but he still went to the Dark Forest. I see no reason for Ashfur to be in StarClan other than plot purposes!

#2: Leafpool
I feel as though Leafpool’s case isn’t talked about a lot. Yes, she did go to StarClan in the end, but she almost went to the Dark Forest! She was a kind, caring medicine cat whose only crime was falling in love with Crowfeather and having kits. She then continued to pay for the rest of her life by being despised by her own kits, basically all of ThunderClan, and she stopped being a medicine cat for a while! She definitely did not deserve to go to the DF!
Let’s look at another medicine cat who had kits. After looking through all of the medicine cats in the Warriors Wiki, Yellowfang is the only other medicine cat I remember who broke the code by having kits. So, Yellowfang had kits, one of them being freaking Brokenstar, a ruthless leader who trained kits way under six moons, drove out WindClan, and caused more battles than he should have. To be fair, this was described to be her ‘punishment’ in her SE. She was a good cat, had kits and got punished for it, then went to StarClan. So why couldn’t Leafpool? They had basically the same life; good cats who had kits, got punished for it, but Leafpool was almost sent to the Dark Forest! StarClan only paid attention to the fact that she had kits, not even considering how much pain she went through! Definitely was judged unfairly.

#3: Juniperclaw
Juniperclaw is going to be the last cat I’m going to talk about in this article. I haven’t read AVoS in a while, so sorry if I get any information wrong!
Now, Juniperclaw was a cat who was mainly a background character until he ‘poisoned’ SkyClan and saved Violetshine and Shadowkit from drowning, which caused his death. I believe he also joined the Kin, but he was a young, rebellious apprentice who believed that Darktail was a better leader, I don’t blame him.
Now, he was sent to the Dark Forest because he supposedly ‘poisoned’ SkyClan, even when it was literally just one vole. A VOLE IS NOT GOING TO FEED A WHOLE CLAN! It’ll probably feed about one cat. ONE. CAT. NOT a whole Clan.
Besides, he believed he was doing it for the good of his Clan. Familiar? That’s what happened to Mudclaw in Winds of Change. He tried to overthrow Onewhisker(star), and when he went to StarClan Tallstar told him that he was there because Mudclaw believed he did it for the good of his Clan. What we see here is that even though he did something bad, he still got into StarClan because he believed it was for the good of his Clan. Doesn’t that mean that Juniperclaw should be in StarClan, because he believed he did it for the good of his Clan?
Let’s also not forget the fact that he died saving Violetshine and Shadowkit. Surely that has to mean something, right? He also tried so hard to go to StarClan. If he was truly evil and deserved to go to the DF, then he probably wouldn’t care as much.
In short, he has poisoned one vole that he thought was for the good of his Clan, saved an expecting queen and kit from drowning, which caused his death, and then tried so hard to get into StarClan, yet they only paid attention to the fact that he poisoned one vole, not even caring he thought it was for the good of his Clan.

In the end, StarClan is definitely not fair when judging cats who are allowed in or not, as they are not consistent with the way they decide where a cat goes after death. They also tend to only look at the bad side of a cat, instead of considering what a cat did overall, and they should learn that cats can change. StarClan also seems to play favorites, which is not fair at all to some!

That’s it for now! I plan on making a part two, maybe even a part three! See ya! -Pumpkinpaw
