Mousebrain shares their survey on the most favourite arcs of Warriors.
Ranking Warrior Cats Arcs Poll:
*Keep in mind some of these results are probably not entirely accurate as some people didn’t read some of the arcs, but it should give you the general consensus.*
From April 3 – April 7th, 2024 I ran a poll asking you what to rank your favorite warrior cats arcs. The poll consisted of a comparative ranking, where you need to rank all the arcs in comparison with each other, and a star ranking, where you rank the arcs with stars from 1 – 5. The arcs were from The Prophecies Begin to A Starless Clan.
So I finished mashing the numbers and here are the results! We got a lot of responses:
Based on only star ratings (1 – 5 stars):
DotC – 4.4
OotS – 4
TPB – 3.95
TBC – 3.8
ASC – 3.8
PoT – 3.47
TNP – 3.15
AVoS – 2.75
Now based solely on comparative rankings (You ranked the arcs 1 – 8, 1 being worst, 8 being best):
*Some people put these arcs in random places because they didn’t read them, results are skewed slightly. *
DoTC – 5.7
TPB – 5.65
OoTS – 5.65
PoT – 4.75
ASC – 4.55*
TBC – 3.85*
TNP – 3.8
AVoS – 2.15
Now Ill give each arc a final score:
** Final Score % = ((stars/5) * (rank/8)) * 100 **
DoTC – 62.7%
OoTs – 56.5%
TPB – 55.8%
ASC – 43.2%
PoT – 41.2%
TBC – 36.6%
TNP – 29.9%
AVoS – 14.8%
I also asked you to explain your thoughts, here are some of the best responses:
“TPB – 5/5 The most consistent in quality, I enjoyed it lots. Has an iconic cast and a good pace/plot which can vary a bit between books and i have a few issues with it but for the most part it’s great. TNP – 3/5 It has a lot of missed potential in my opinion, the first half would have been better if it focused more on the bond developed between the traveling cats and their character growth, the second half butchered Brambleclaw’s character and the drama was drawn out and not very gripping. It had a pretty good cast, though PO3 – 1/5 I really dislike PO3. There are some good moments and I do love Jayfeather and Hollyleaf in particular but the books for the most part are boring, disconnected and aimless and sometimes the cast can be infuriating. Outcast and Eclipse are the worst books in this arc, imo and i couldn’t get through my po3 reread because of them. OOTS – 3/5 It can be a hot mess sometimes, suffering from some of the same issues as PO3 with its plot but I still generally like OOTS. I like the main cast here (not Lionblaze) and their character arcs for the most part. Plus, the last hope is iconic. DOTC – 5/5 I’m a bit biased here because of my love for it and truthfully, if I was looking at it more objectively I’d probably mark it down by a star. I love the cast of DOTC, and it especially pleases me in how it gives more character to its background cats than most warrior cats arcs do. Plot-wise, the first half is really good, especially the first battle which i would say is one of the best books in the entire series, but books 4 and 5 just aren’t as good, particularly with Clear Sky not getting an actual arc to his ‘redemption’ (to be fair, he wasn’t that much better in the second half, he just wasn’t going around murdering random cats anymore) and the lack of an interesting villain, with both Slash and One eye being pretty hollow, and neither ever get much focus. I think making Star Flower the main villain of the second half would’ve been a better choice for the story. I like book 6 a bit more than the others in the second half, and the ending chapter always leaves me in tears. But yeah despite how i just prattled on about how i don’t like the second half of DOTC, it is really special to me and will always be my favorite. AVOS – 3/5 I don’t have much to say about AVOS. It was pretty good in the first half, then pretty boring in the second. I don’t have a lot of feelings about it overall. TBC – 4/5 TBC, like DOTC, is brought down a bit by its 4th and 5th books, and also its main romance with RootBristle which although it was cute occasionally, wasn’t developed very well. But I like the story, and it was a very interesting concept. I think Ashfur made a pretty good villain in this arc, and A Light in the Mist especially was amazing. ASC – 4/5 I wasn’t fully convinced on this arc with River and Sky, but Shadow and Thunder were really good and i have high hopes for how the rest of this arc plays out! I haven’t gotten around to reading Wind yet so I’ll have to see what i think about that book but depending on how the last two books play out i could see myself bumping it up to 5 stars!”
“ASC – I love Lightleap, Sunbeam, and Nightheart. A really fun arc overall with great PoVs (though Frostpaw doesn’t stick out much). DotC – The Clans being formed was so interesting to read about! And Skystar was an AMAZING antagonist. OotS – I absolutely love Ivypool and the whole story about the Dark Forest. The reason it isn’t first is because Dovewing’s chapters aren’t very interesting. The others just didn’t interest me as much. A note about TBC – it wasn’t that interesting overall, but Bristlefrost was one of my absolute favorites and she really made TBC better. 😀 Oh, and I don’t hate TPB, but I just think the authors have improved a LOT since then! :)”
I am also thinking about making this a series. Let’s call it… something like: Mousebrain Asked You or MBAY?

cool articlol mousebrain!
Nice article!! I voted for the next poll :))
i took your poll for the protangonist! some of them are askewed cause i havent havent read all the arcs
1. Dawn of the Clans
2. The prophecies begins
3.(tied) Omen of the Stars and Power of Three(mostly because of The Sight)
sooo…. I forgot what I rated them on the poll but anywho here are the ones I feel strongly about
Graystripe – He was honestly handed a lot of things that he never should have had, like being a father so young (his fault) and becoming deputy. Pretty much from the end of The Prophecies Begin, everything went downhill for him as a character. He took a boring mate, who was only ever meant to be another way to make an example of how kittypets can be in the Clans. I loved him through the first arc, but after that not so much.
Crowfeather – I love how he struggles throughout his lifetime. No happy ending, no “I finish my arc and become a background character” *ahem hem Alderheart* for him, and he is constantly struggling with various things. This is one of the reasons why I love Crowfeather, and one of the reasons he is one of the best protagonists imo. His story reflects real life in the fact that it never becomes perfect and all of your problems are magically solved.
Hollyleaf and Ivypool – I hate to lump these two together, but they are very similar in my opinion. Neither of them asked to be left out of an exclusive prophecy granting them magical powers, neither of them asked to keep huge secrets, neither of them deserve the jealousy and hate that would threaten to consume them that came with their siblings wondrous gifts. Regardless of being excluded for no good reason, both of these characters proved themselves to be girl bosses.
This is an amazing article, great job!
Nice article :>
Cool article! I voted in the next poll!
I fully expected AVoS to be at the bottom. I feel like it was just thrown together. Personally, the only thing I liked about that arc was Needletail.
I’m surprised but not at the same time with TBC’s ranking. That’s my personal favorite, but I know it’s not for others. I really liked it because of Bristlefrost’s death, along with the fact that I generally liked the characters. I liked Bristlefrost’s death because I felt like it was a really good way to conclude the series. Of course it was sad, but that’s the reason I like it. I thought the idea for the arc was pretty cool too. I could talk about this for a while, so I’ll just cut it off here.
Also, I voted on the next poll
I only put TBC near the bottom bc I wasn’t reading it yet back then
In my opinion, DoTC used to be severely underrated, and now it’s pretty overrated 😛
Please do a Part Two!!! (I will have to remember to vote… )
I’m probably late for this but I’m going to vote just for fun!
