HI! Flowerpaw/seed here with my very first BlogClan article <3 This is a top 15 list of my favorite and least favorite characters, plus a few honorable mentions! (This was inspired by Rosepaw/fern) Anyways, without further ado, letā€™s get started with my favorite characters!

15: Violet Dawn
Violet Dawn is caring, loving, and selfless! When sheā€™s carrying kits, she never needs any cat to look after her, she just handles problems herself. Sheā€™s definitely independent, capable, and doesnā€™t need any babying. She is courageous and emotionally strong, placing herself between her Clanmate and dogs even when sheā€™s expecting kits, and sheā€™s mentioned to never flinch from facing the truth. She doesnā€™t let anything crush her and keeps going, not giving up no matter what. Her inner strength is overpowering šŸ’– She is an amazing character and extremely affectionate and brave. Sheā€™s very underrated and needs more love šŸ©·

14: Petal
Petal is simply AWESOME. Petal grew up as a cat whoā€™d been through a lot and shaped by the hardships of life. Her mother was killed when she was a kit, thrusting Petal and her littermate Fox out into the world at a young age. Although the world was a hard place, especially for kits, Petal and Fox kept going, kept surviving despite everything. Through that experience, she became a jaded survivor, doing everything she could to survive the dangers of the forest. Many cats like that would have only fended for themselves. They would care a certain degree for others, but they would always care more about their survival more than others. But Petal wasnā€™t like that. She was selfless, brave, and loving, and one of the best mothers a cat could ask for.

13: Silverstream
The motherless daughter of the RiverClan leader Crookedstar, Silverstream grew up to become a stubborn, and loving warrior who could be arrogant at times. But unlike many cats during this turbulent time, Silverstream was capable of caring for those beyond her borders. She had the confidence and haughtiness that was softened by her motherā€™s compassion and devoted personality, and the bravery and loyalty from her father. From the moment she dove into the icy depths of the water and saved the ThunderClan warrior Graystripe rather than let him drown, Silverstream displayed the courage that few cats could possess in her state, weakened by the hunger drawn by leaf-bare and lack of prey.

12: Brightheart
Brightheart is amazing. She never let her wounds stop her, never let her new name stop her as she continued to go on the path of a warrior. The attack from the dog pack left her traumatized and scarred, physically and emotionally. Yet the strength of Brightheartā€™s resilience and quiet determination was enough to knock down the obstacles that came in her way, and she was able to become a warrior like sheā€™d always dreamed of. And, like the Ultimate Guide stated, ā€œShe possessed the true beauty that comes from courage, loyalty, and devotion.ā€

11: Breezepelt
Breezepelt in the first two arcs he existed was kind of annoying, but at the same time, I gotta admit, he had a hard childhood. Crowfeather neglected him and even praised Lionpaw instead of his own son, while Nightcloud coddled her son. His choices were his own decisions, and although Crowfeather and Nightcloud were partially the cause, Breezepelt should be held accountable for his own crimes. Now, I know that he didnā€™t get punished for betraying his Clan, but he was constantly jabbed with discourteous comments by his Clanmates, and although he was surrounded by cats, he seemed like a loner. Some of them even suggested that he killed his mother šŸ’” But despite that, he kept going. He was determined to prove himself to his Clanmates, and thatā€™s worthy of respect <3 He saved Heathertail, leaping into the tunnels without a second thought, even though he had trauma from the tunnels, and his mother had just supposedly ā€˜diedā€™ in the tunnels. He places himself between her and the stoats, showing how courageous he can be when defending those he cares about. He even saves his half-brother Lionblaze from stoats, even though he was already severely injured <3

10: Squirrelflight/star
Squirrelstar has made quite a journey with her personality! She began from a feisty, sometimes obnoxious apprentice to a more mature, level-headed warrior to a brave, resilient deputy, and finally, the wise, bold leader she is now. Part of why The Broken Code is my favorite arc? Because we can see Squirrelflightā€™s courage and durability, and hope in a time of darkness. Sheā€™s been through so much in her life, yet sheā€™s ready to go on, to never give up. She may fall down, but she always gets up. Thatā€™s what makes her truly a legend. I loved her from the beginning: the scrappy, argumentative daughter of Firestar and Sandstorm who has the same sense of right and wrong, and unafraid to stand up to any cat. Her relationship with Leafpool was so sweet <3 Squirrelflight sacrificed so much for her sister, but she would do it again in a heartbeat because of her love and devotion to cats she cares deeply about. Sheā€™s a complex, imperfect character, and her flaws and strengths, and her incapability to do things that she believes to be wrong, is what makes her a character thatā€™s hard to not love <3

9: Heathertail
Heathertail is plain awesome! From the moment this feisty, curious she-cat was introduced, I loved her <3 She’s brave and devoted, and although she held a grudge against Lionblaze for a while, she never let it harm other cats. Despite how much she resented him, she still let him take catmint, proving her compassion and honorability. I especially loved her in Crowfeatherā€™s Trial. She was supportive towards Breezepelt and defended him. She could have been like her Clanmates, tossing rude remarks at Breezepelt, but instead, she gave him love and help, and she definitely chose well for a mate!

8: Night
I love Night. Like Petal, she went through a lot, including many losses. She seemed unwilling to let herself get close to any cat, but her loyalty to RiverClan tied her to the group, and although it was her faith in Riverstar that led her to join the Clan at first, she grew to be true-hearted to RiverClan. Started off as a rogue, Night had the heart of a true warrior, and her unwavering steadfastness to RiverClan would set her apart from many cats who were once self-sufficient. Her personality is lovable, too: Sheā€™s efficient, practical, and devoted, and she was honorable, fierce, and brave, and her leadership of RiverClan is well-deserved.

7: Jayfeather
Yes! This grumpy, sharp-tongued tom simply had to make this list! Like many of Jayfeatherā€™s fans, his crankiness is simply lovable, and it has its reasons too. From the moment this tom was born, he had a destiny to fulfill and a life full of difficulty. Unlike many cats, Jayfeather was blind, and it got in the way of his wish to be a warrior. Jayfeather rebelled against his destiny to become a medicine cat until he realized that, after the battle, he knew that he had to follow the path that StarClan had set out for him. On top of his disadvantage of blindness, Jayfeather had to handle the lives of his Clanmates and being part of the Three, and soon, the pain of losing his sister and the distrust of those around him. Next thing he knows, heā€™s accused of attempted murder by a she-cat driven to irrationality by grief. The path Jayfeather treads is rocky, but his determination, loyalty, and bravery, not to mention his sharp tongue, is what makes him admirable in his own way, and number seven on this list.

6: Firestar
He needs more love oh my gosh <3 I donā€™t know why, but Iā€™ve always seen Firestar as a rather realistic character, particularly in his arc! He has flaws, definitely, and I could make a whole list of them LOL. Anyways, Firestar is awesome! He started off as a curious, bold kittypet wandering beyond his fence and into the unknown without fear. After he joined ThunderClan, that was just the beginning of Firestarā€™s troubles. It was a time of turbulence among the Clans, with WindClan driven out, ShadowClan a dangerous group led by a battle-hungry leader, and RiverClan determined to claim Sunningrocks. And in the midst was Firestar, a cat who had no idea of the legacy of fire already written out by StarClan. Struggling to fit in at first, Firestar found a pawhold after he became the deputy, but after Bluestarā€™s loss of trust in her Clan, it left this young tom clinging on by a whisker. When he rose to become leader, Firestar faced challenges, from TigerClan to the destruction of the forest to the Great Battle, where he died defending his Clan, showing infinite times more loyalty and courage than many Clanborn warriors.

5: Honeyfern
Wow, almost all of my top five sacrificed their lives for others! Out of those four, Honeyfern is one of them. Anyways, letā€™s first start with her life as an apprentice. Honeypaw is empathetic, understanding, and caring, shown when she tells Lionpaw about her own troubles when he failed to catch prey. She was so kind and sweet <3 Though Iā€™ll never understand her crush on Berrynose LOL šŸ˜›Continuing, Honeyfern had a bright future ahead of her. She could live happily with her mate, Berrynose, possibly be a mother, and defend her Clan for moons to come. What I like about Honeyfern is that she has a cute, warm side, but she has a fierce side too! Unfortunately, Honeyfernā€™s life was cut short when she saved Briarkit from a snake. Sheā€™d lived a life of kindness, courage, and love, but it ended with Honeyfernā€™s selflessness and bravery in choosing to give up her future so that a kit could survive <3 After her death, Berrynose moved on and became mates with Honeyfernā€™s sister, Poppyfrost, but he couldnā€™t quite bring himself to believe that she could take care of herself, and was overprotective of her. This left Poppyfrost doubting whether he truly loved her. But Honeyfern, after saving her sister from Breezepelt, reassured the anxious queen that Berrynose loved her. She even gives her acceptance, because she wants Berrynose to be happy <3 Sheā€™s really like Feathertail, able to see the loving cats underneath sharp-tongued toms. And, similarly, Honeyfern puts Berrynoseā€™s needs in front of her own. <3 Honeyfern is incredibly altruistic, compassionate, and gentle, and she takes fifth place on this list!

4: Hollyleaf
I love Hollyleaf! Sheā€™s loyal, intelligent, and a determined rule-follower. She would be that one kid who enforced rules on everyone else, that one kid that teachers would call a role model, that one kid who aced school with top marks, and graduated Harvard University when everyone else was still in elementary school. šŸ§  Sheā€™s that awesome. But Hollyleafā€™s intense devotion to the warrior code made life harder for her, too. After realizing that her parents were not her true mother and father, and that her birth had just smashed not only the warrior code, but also the medicine-cat code, to pieces, Hollyleafā€™s world turned upside down to the point where she was having a mental breakdown from fear, panic, and pain. Almost out of her mind, Hollyleaf did things that sheā€™d regret later, when sheā€™d recovered from shock.

Through Hollyleafā€™s life, sheā€™d always been ambitious, having the desire to serve her Clan in the best way she could. Her loyalty to the warrior code made ThunderClan the object of Hollyleafā€™s commitment. She was a quick thinker, able to contemplate the consequences of every move and its impact on those around her, and she was willing to do whatever it took to protect her loved ones, and due to that, she made the decision to kill Ashfur. For all her dedication to the warrior code, it was a difficult choice, one that the old Hollyleaf would never have even considered. But her life was at risk now. Ashfur had almost killed her and her littermates twice, and was willing to do everything to make Squirrelflight suffer. In my opinion, Ashfurā€™s death was self-defense. Who knew what he would do to cause more pain to Squirrelflight? Heā€™d conspired to kill Firestar. Who else would he be sacrificing just for his own grudges? By doing what she did, Hollyleaf was defending herself, and ThunderClan, the cats sheā€™d vowed to protect.

Though Hollyleaf ran away from ThunderClan, she never actually gave up on her Clanmates. Like I said before, Hollyleaf had the unwavering faithfulness to ThunderClan that bound her to it like a vine, no matter how far away she was, no matter how deep she was underground. Hollyleaf saved two apprentices from a vicious fox, risking her life to do so. She planted marigold for her Clan. All while she was away from ThunderClan, imposing self-exile on herself. She didnā€™t suffer from the remarks about her heritage her brothers had, but her punishment was just as bad, if not worse. She had to live with the guilt of what sheā€™d done, the regret now that sheā€™d realized her wrongs. Hollyleafā€™s awareness and self-discipline is just one of the amazing things about her.

Next, when she returns to ThunderClan, sheā€™s ready to face the consequences of her actions. Hollyleaf never believes that she deserves to be let off scot-free just because she left the Clan for ages. She is prepared to be punished even further. She recognizes what she did, and she isnā€™t afraid to be disciplined. Despite all the hardships sheā€™s gone through, she didnā€™t believe she deserved to be part of ThunderClan. But, even though she was in the tunnels, Hollyleaf used her intelligence to devise ways of fighting and self-defense there. She teaches these skills to ThunderClan, helping them get ready for WindClanā€™s attack. If thatā€™s not enough repayment to ThunderClan, Hollyleaf also saves Ivypool from Hawkfrost in the Great Battle, dying the way any true warrior would have wanted, in service of her Clan. šŸ’•šŸ’•šŸ’•

3: Bristlefrost
There are few cats who are brave enough to give up their own place in StarClan for the sake of others, but one of them in that certain pawful is Bristlefrost. As an apprentice, she was eager, should I say over-enthusiastic, and her bravery led her to save the young SkyClan apprentice, Rootpaw. We see more of Bristlefrostā€™s courage as we read further into The Broken Code! She risked her life as a double agent, even though sheā€™d known what could happen to her based on Bramblestar attempting to murder the ShadowClan medicine cat, Shadowsight. After the battle between all five Clans, leaving ThunderClan almost destroyed, with Squirrelflight struggling to keep the Clan together, Bristlefrost is fiercely loyal to her Clan, even though she could easily have gone down the easy path to SkyClan for the cat she loved, Rootspring. She continuously endangers her own life as she goes to the Dark Forest, and ultimately she died there, sacrificing not only herself, but her place in StarClan to save Shadowsight, and the Clans. From the fervent, keen apprentice to the determined, fearless warrior, Bristlefrost leaves behind a strong legacy, and it will live on forever in those who remember this selfless she-cat.

2: Feathertail
Feathertail is amazing. Though she lived for such a short time, this she-cat has accomplished much in her life. Sheā€™s come so far from the distrustful, self-isolated warrior who worked to push away her Clanmates, making herself seem like a loner in the midst of RiverClan. (Iā€™ve never read A Shadow in RiverClan, in fact! Iā€™ve read Mountainstormā€™s articles about her) But I mostly loved her in The New Prophecy! Feathertail is a sweet, kind she-cat, the only one on the journey who saw past Crowpawā€™s defensive, bad-tempered attitude to see the brave, loving tom underneath. She was so nice to him, and he returned her love <3 I canā€™t even list all the amazing moments between these two! In the end, Feathertail sacrificed her life for his, killing Sharptooth. FEATHERXCROW 4EVER šŸ˜»šŸ˜»šŸ˜»

Before I reveal my favorite character, Iā€™ll show yā€™all some honorable mentions!! (In no particular order)

– Sorreltail
– Nightcloud
– Lilyheart
– Pebble Heart
– Blazefire
– Spotfur
– Alderheart
– Sunbeam
– Cloudtail

1: Ivypool
I love Ivypool! Sheā€™s brave, loyal, and intelligent, willing to risk her life for her Clan. Everything she did, including killing Antpelt, was something she did for the sake of ThunderClan. In that moment of agreeing to spy in the Dark Forest, she had just endangered her life, and place in StarClan, even as an apprentice. While her sister dealt with being part of the Three, a massive responsibility, Ivypool had similarly large duties too. At night, she had to fight for her life, forced to show no sign of weakness or compassion for her opponents during training. Each sign of mercy could jeopardize her life, just as any wrong step could. Then, every morning, sheā€™d wake up injured from vicious fighting sessions in the Dark Forest, and then continue to perform her everyday work. After her arc, I still loved her! Ivypool was an amazing mentor to Twigpaw; she was understanding, kind, and empathetic, and a great mother as well. Itā€™s no wonder where Bristlefrost gets her courage, dedication, and selflessness!
