Happy 16th Birthday, BlogClan!

Hello everyone! This is Willowdawn, Koipaw/leaf, and Silverdusk. Today we will be celebrating BlogClan’s 16th birthday! If you were here last year, you might remember we celebrated its 15th Clanniversary. We will be doing it again because it is such a special place, and many people enjoyed it. Can you believe the Blog has been around for nearly 20 years?

Let us give you some brief history on this website. The first ever BlogClan post was created on August 31st, 2008 by Kate Cary, one of the authors of the Warrior Cats series. (If you want to view the first post though, you can view it here, but currently, there is no way to access the old BlogClan site because Kate has deleted it.) The site was most likely created on that date or few days before. Still, that was a long time ago! I believe most people on BlogClan were not even born at this time! At first this site was created as a website for Kate, also known as Cakestar, and her son, Hazelburrow, to share updates on Warrior Cats. Eventually, more people started joining, and they discussed this series on this platform. Overtime, it became an online hangout space where people could freely share their opinions or some fun and exciting events coming up. [

This history is what brought the community surrounding Warrior Cats together to create last year’s BlogClan birthday post. We have decided to continue this because a website existing for 16 years is very rare. Well then, enough chatter, and let’s get started!

An Interview with BlogClanners

For the first section, we asked many BlogClanners some questions. First, our fellow clanmates will be sharing some favorite memories on BlogClan.

What are some of your favorite memories on BlogClan?

“Man, this is a hard question. I have lots of great memories, it’s hard to choose just one. First joining BlogClan, the joy of seeing people liking my fanfiction, my first birthday on the blog, my first Gathering and Clanniversary, and so on. But overall my favorite memories are having fun chatting with the people I am closest to on the blog, whether that is making out of context jokes on the blog itself or chatting with them and playing Gartic Phone on Discord. Those are the moments I am most fond of.”

“My favorite Blogclan memory has got to be the time when I started to be active. When I first joined, I did not do much. It was mostly an introduction and then I stayed silent, but then after my first Clanniversary I really started to get into Blogclan after my year of reading fanfics and looking at art. After I got active I wrote my own fanfics for the first time and showed my first art piece of a cat. This memory is my favorite because it really helped me do what I do now with all of the books I write. I would not have ever realized how easy it is if not for the help of others’ fan fictions.”

“There’s way too many to count!

Back in the winter of 2019-early 2020’s I was a member of IronstrangeClan with Brambleheart (inactive now, unfortunately), Thistleclaw (inactive now), and a few others. I have fond memories of the chaos we’d get up to as we spread Iron strange appreciation. 😛 Bramb and I had a lot of common ground and bonded rather easily. She was definitely one of my first friends, one whom I recall fondly.

I used to be active on the earlier threads of this Wiki actually, with Aquila, before she was a mod, back in 2020 or maybe near the end of 2019, with a user named Falling Feather. We had some good times. 😛 One of my favorite memories was debating with Falling about Warriors villains, I believe, and joking about Dovewing running around with a hatchet or machete saying ‘writs and warrants, warrants and writs’ and ”off with her head, off with her head”. Mhm, young me, was a chaotic lil’ gremlin-

Now, for a period that was too brief, me and a user Lightningshadow aka Ningning, would chat on the anime page. She was fun conversationalist, and we got to know each other kinda well 😛 Unfortunately she left anime recently, and became another one of the inactive. I’ll always remember her though, whenever I think of anime. 

The final contender is the 2021-2022 period of the Wiki. There’s so many familiar faces that came and went, so many jokes and discussions I still remember, and so many things that changed. It was a wild time haha. But I met Falconstorm, my closest friend on the Blog, currently at least, and despite the more negative events that constantly unfolded around us, our friendship is still going strong somehow. 😛 Some of the conversations I’ve had with her are most certainly up there on my list of favorite BlogClan memories. :P”

“My favorite memory of BlogClan was definitely when I joined my first ever live BlogChat. I met so many of my friends there, and it felt like I was in the room with them, despite being stuck in a classroom full of other sweaty teenagers. We played a Blooket, (me winning by a fair amount. EAT THAT MALLOWPAW AND PAINTEDWOLF! /j). It was just an amazing event to attend, and in those 15 minutes in the chat, I put 10 new people on my mental BlogClan friends list.”

“Wow, this is a very difficult question 😛 I really loved being announced as a Helper and all the training behind it – that was so fun! The trend where Shadeleap, Skyshimmer and I had the same display names was also very fun!! The Army will forever reign over the Blog! >:D And of course, I have to give a nod to the Fanfic Era where Shadeleap, Sandbreeze, Skymist, Ripplepaw, Amberleaf and I all became blog besties and we all had active and ongoing fanfictions 😛 That’s such a nostalgic memory for me, as my friendships with them are some of my oldest ones on the Blog! I also loved the 2023 Elections – it was so nice to make it to the final round, and it was so great when the lovely Shades won! <3 Hosting ‘Name That Candy’ in the Gathering was super awesome too, and writing these types of posts with Willowdawn is great! Overall, my favorite memories on the Blog are the moments I’ve shared with all my Blog besties!” 💜

“There are so many good memories I had on BlogClan. I think one good memory was going on BlogChat talking with people. I enjoyed getting to know people better. The tavern was also a great place where I talked. On BlogClan, I remembered being announced Senior Warrior. I remembered feeling very happy.

Another memory is creating the long(est) thread with Aquila on the Viperdiner page. People are just mystified by how the thread kept going. Speaking of the Viperdiner, I remember cracking open the Emberden back in June of 2021, and I felt success. Additionally, finding the codes to those other scavenger hunts were fun too.

Writing some fanfiction with Hazypaw/frost and Dawnpaw/wind (who left the Blog) was a great time for me as well. I loved bonding and learning their writing styles. We wrote one story called “Spotstar’s Journey.” Also, I organized a BlogWide fanfiction where people would collaborate to write short stories about them doing different activities. Even though it is inactive, I think everyone had a lot of fun writing it. I also loved creating the Moderator Appreciation post and Happy Clanniversary BlogClan post. I loved the collaboration and communication happening.

There are so many other memories I have not mentioned like participating in the 2023 elections or the Gatherings. All in all, I made many memories on BlogClan, and I most loved hanging out with people on this website.”

My favourite thing about BlogClan are the people who make it what it is, and the love and support that get shared. It is amazing to see how nice people actually are and how accepting of everyone they are too. I feel like Blogclan helped me love myself just that bit more <33 and I’ve made friends who are nicer than I could ever imagine honestly.

“My favorite thing about BlogClan has absolutely GOT to be the people. Everyone on Blogclan is super welcoming and helpful. Whenever someone new shows up everyone instantly welcomes them and it’s so amazing. I’ve seen so many comments of others asking for help with art and writing with comments answering their questions with tips that are either a long list or a short one. The energy from all of the BlogFrogs is always so high and everyone knows how to make others laugh. BlogClan is a place for Warrior Cats fans to relate with each other, and also a place for those who do not like or have never read the books.”

“The best part about BlogClan is meeting people online, but not having to worry about stumbling on any haters, any cursing, or anything else that I was uncomfortable with. I usually didn’t linger online, as I was worried of stumbling into a dangerous online site, but BlogClan made me feel safe. Yes, I was quite a bit wary when I first introduced myself, but after warming up to everyone and realizing that it was a safe environment, BlogClan is now a huge part of me. When I’m introducing myself to teachers, even if I don’t mean to, I will always mention BlogClan, even if they’re confused, I always mention it.”

“One of my favorite things about BlogClan is the sense of community. People are very supportive of each other, and they look after one another like they are family. When someone asks for help or ideas, the whole community gives them a hand. Additionally, people respect each others’ opinions and ideas. The community loves each other, is very benevolent and thoughtful, and is respectful.

Another thing I appreciate about this site is the safe environment. Moderators protect us from those uncomfortable things.”

“The community, without a doubt. When I first joined I was a stressed and confused person, and the Blog lifted me up and brought me people I am proud to call my best friends today. This safe space on the Internet is unlike any other place online that I’ve ever been on or ever seen, and I am so grateful for that. The people are lovely, the things to do here – from the fun Polls to the Tavern where you can talk about anything, recent editions such as the Training Hollow – there’s never a dull moment to be found.”

“I would have to go with waffles, because the amount of times I have had pancakes this summer is everyday at camp. I’m just bored of pancakes and either way, last year I had Eggos for breakfast a lot and they were so good. Waffles have the indents that make your syrup not fall onto the plate when you just want to have the syrup. With pancakes you require more syrup so you can actually have syrup on your pancakes! So I choose Waffles over Pancakes!”

“Breakfast is a very important meal because it helps one feel productive and ready to work in the morning. Food can give energy for the day. The best food for this meal is waffles because it gives energy to the body, it looks better, and tastes better.

Waffles are a great source of energy, especially in the morning. In 100 grams of waffles, there are about 291 calories. Additionally, it provides 159 milligrams of potassium, 33 grams of carbohydrates, and 8 grams of protein. Those are some good numbers. Waffles not only provide energy, but have some good nutrition facts.

Waffles are superior because they look fancier with the boxes. Its unique shape gives it a memorable quality. The straight lines when the top mold presses on the batter satisfy many. This shape helps hold the syrup inside each hole. Overall, the waffle’s unique shape can hold sauce on top of it.

Waffles are also crispier compared with pancakes. Many people like crunchy things, and pancakes are often fluffier and thinner. Additionally, waffles that are a little dark give this delicious taste because it is a little bitter, but the sweetness is still dominant. While waffles are not as fluffy, they still have a better taste in general.

Waffles are a food that has a good source of nutrients, is very unique in shape, and texture and taste is better compared with a pancake. So whenever you need a snack, waffles are the way.”

Not only do our current moderators watch the main site, but they also do their best to make sure the BlogClan Fandom Wikia and Discord are safe for us to enjoy as well, not to mention the fun games and events they host! We also want to take a moment to thank our past and present senior warriors for their outstanding contributions to BlogClan. They have stayed on BlogClan for years, proving their dedication to this website many times over. These special people are the ones who help our younger and newer members. Whether they are active or not today, they still deserve a round of applause for making it this far to becoming one.
