[Mapleshade and her hallucinations of Larchkit, Petalkit, and Patchkit]
This is sliverthorn here with my second article. I know there are a lot of Mapleshade articles, so I decided to make my own. Here’s why Mapleshade is absolutely justified:
A lot of other cats have had cross Clan kits. Leafpool and Crowfeather,graypool’s parents, everyone from DotC. They may have gotten punished, but they certainly didn’t get EXILED.
Plus, her kits are only 2 moons . Leafpool arguably did worse and only got reduced to being a warrior. How can ThunderClan be mad to get 3 new warriors? And yes ,ok,I get it,she murdered 3 cats. But frankly, they deserved it. First, she killed ravenwing by ambushing him from the moonstone tunnel. That avenged larchkit. Out of her 3 victims, I feel like he deserves it least. But he did get Mapleshade exiled, so yeah. Next is frecklewish . He just stood there and let her kits DROWN. He literally did nothing about it. So Mapleshade tricked her into getting bitten by a snake. Absolutely fair. And it avenged petalkit . 100 percent ok. Now pachkit was avenged by the death of appledusk. Having 2 mates if one dies is fine . but getting a second mate while your first one is expecting kits? Definitely not. Also ,cut Mapleshade some slack. She was killed by an apprentice. Mapleshade also technically committed murder after death to. She caused Crookedstar, Crookedjaw then, to let rainflower drown. Now she deserves it too. Mapleshade’s still in the right. But look at how many cats she Didn’t murder . Look at how many are appledusks kin. Bluestar. Stonefur. Mosskit. Silverstream. Graystripe. Feathertail and stormfur. Mistystar( well I guess not Mistystar because as of now we don’t know how she died) technically snowfur and whitestorm. Even thisleclaw.They
Were all wonderful cats. And appledusks kin . And she didn’t kill them. They did die. Just (probably for Mistystar)not from her. Well, not from her directly. She might have caused tigerclawstar to commit some of his murders. But still.
That is why Mapleshade is absolutely justified. I’m not justifying all murder. Just this murder. Keep an eye out for “giving other book characters warrior names “

I’m sorry, but I strongly disagree. Imagine this: There is a serial killer in your village, and she has just been arrested (lifelong). You can choose if you want to help her escape or keep her in jail. She tells you her children died, her parents didn’t let her live with them anymore cuz they didn’t approve of her boyfriend, and that boyfriend dumped her. She killed her parents, her sister (who didn’t try to go to her children when they died, cuz she knew she couldn’t help), and wanted to kill her boyfriend’s new girlfriend but accidentally killed him. Now, would you free her? If not, you shouldn’t think Mapleshade is justified.
Very well said. It’s important to remember that warrior cats are just basically humans in cat bodies.
I completely disagree. Villains always have some lie they tell themselves to make the murder ok, but it will never be okay. You can’t justify murder. You just can’t. Besides, there are like a hundred things Mapleshade could’ve done to prevent her kits dying imo.

100 percent! Except it should have been Oakstar, not Ravenwing dying. But Appledusk was such a jerk and a cheat to Mapleshade, and Frecklewish broke the code! I agree with you, and I think Mapleshade and her kits could have had a great life. And then went to STARCLAN. Mapleshade was so upset, and she had a pull to do this.
Even though killing was a bit much, justice to Mapleshade! This is fine!
I defend Mapleshade, but still…the murders she committed are definitely not justified, as murders, no matter how good the murderer’s reasons are, is not okay.
