What went wrong in BrambleXsquilf by Zealpelt

Zealpelt takes a look at Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight’s relationship.

Hello, fellow blogclanners(don’t know if I spelled that right :p) but anyway my Zealo here with another article! (keep in mind this is completely my opinion) Now let’s dive into this!

So first I would like to talk about Brambleclaw/star (I will try not to scream at either of them 😅) Bramblepaw starts out as a young headstrong apprentice, but the whole thing that started his self-doubt was everyone only saw him they just as TIGERSTAR even as a kit and he hadn’t even developed his personality, and that really hurts to be judged, right! And after he got the suffix *CLAW* that just made it even weirder. You may be wondering how this has anything to do with the problems in their ship, well it does BIG time! When Bramblepaw became a warrior he was even more ambitious, that was partly because he was a headstrong, brave, young, male main character, he was kinda destined to be a leader! (And when I say that he was male am not saying that female cats can’t be leaders, there are some amazing female leaders!!! I was just stating that he was a male cat) But anyway let’s skip all the way to Sunset Squilf doubted him because she thought he would end up like Tigerstar and the reason she thought he would end up like Tigerstar was he started hanging out with his half-brother (Hawkfrost) I mean who wouldn’t want to make up with your long lost sib? He didn’t know that Hawkfrost was evil! In the end, he ends up killing his half-brother and saving FIRESTAR SQUILFS DAD!!!!!!! (Sorry I promised not to yell 🙁 that still didn’t make up for it, because they are NOT mates in Bramblestars storm until close to the end! Squilf didn’t trust him; she underestimated him and even went after another tom (ashfur) just because Brambleclaw talked to Hawkfrost. Hold on before I say anything else just try to think very deeply Brableclaw KILLED his BROTHER for his CLAN and SQUILFS DAD! Do you know how loyal that is, and still, still after that Squilf doubted him! And while he was trying to kill his brother Hawkfrost was tempting him that if he let Firestar die then Brambleclaw could become leader! Something that he had always dreamed of!

Now let’s talk about Squilf! She is a very headstrong, powerful young she-cat! In Midnight she decided on HER OWN to follow the prophecy cats to the sundrown place! This just shows that if she thinks something is right then she does it even if it may hurt others, which don’t get me wrong that is a very good thing to have it can make you loyal brave, and determined! But it can also make you self-absorbed which is a terrible thing to have in a relationship and being in a clan! Am not saying that she was self-absorbed the whole series because she was differently NOT. One problem that stuck out to me when I decided to write this was when she pretended that Leafpool’s kits were hers. She lied to Brambleclaw/star and you can never EVER lie to your spouse, you should never lie to anyone. I know they’re just cats, like if you lie you won’t go to the DF but still, it can hurt you and your soul and also everyone around you! What did she think would happen that Brambleclaw/star would exile them or something? Just when their ship had begun to work out she just lied to him like that. It really hurt him and the clan. Squilf took her sister’s kits because she loved them so much and she wanted to protect them just as much as Leafpool did (which is very sweet btw) but aging she doubted Bramblestar because she thought that he would do something bad if he were to figure out, she never gave him a chance. Maybe Bramblestar would have exiled them or had them killed but that’s not the point, the point is that his OWN MATE didn’t trust him enough just to tell him that (which is extremely sad) But does their ship have a happy ending, I really don’t know, I guess that’s just up to the readers!
