Interviewing Fallowpaw and Frostpaw about Firestar! by Fernmist

Fernmist interviews Fallowpaw and Frostpaw about their thoughts on Firestar.

Hello Blogclanners, here’s Fernmist yet with another article! Today I will be interviewing Frostpaw/stream and Fallowpaw about their opinions on Firestar! Apparently I got 2 Firestar dislikers /j, but lets see what they have to say!

me: Firestar is often referred to as an overrated character. what are your thoughts about him?

Fallowpaw: I think he’s overrated: both in the books and in the fandom.
Firestar is not smart, neglects his Clan, is impulsive and is naïve; and that’s totally ok. But what annoys me is that everybody acts like he’s god himself! Brambleclaw thinks he needs to be like Firestar and ruins his entire personality and leadership with that, because ‘Firestar is so amazing’! Graystripe is like: ‘Oh, we should name her Sparkfire because my overrated bestie needs some more attention’! Firestar is very overrated in my opinion but I don’t want to offend you if you like him ofc🙂 These are just my thoughts.

Frostpaw: Well, I honestly think that Firestar…kinda is overrated. He gets too much attention. And he broke the warrior code a couple of times. Nobody really pays attention to that, they just think he’s a “heroic cat who never broke the warrior code”, which is wrong. Firestar ALSO ditched Graystripe for his quest about SkyClan, which wasn’t really the right thing to do. And he broke Rule #3 by feeding Yellowfang, and he got to take care of Yellowfang for a moon. Other cats didn’t get off that easily.

me: both of these are true, Firestar is kind of thought of like God, and while that might be true he did break some rules.

Next question! Do you ship Firestar with Spottedleaf, Sandstom, or Cinderpelt?

Fallowpaw: Neither! I am (probably the only one on earth) a Firestar and Mistystar shipper! I just think they would be a good match because they like each other, are both peaceful leaders and Firestar also had high respect for Bluestar, who is Mistystar’s mother! It’s just a perfect ship in so many ways!

Frostpaw: I honestly ship Firestar with Cinderpelt. They had a really strong bond, even when Cinderpaw became a medicine cat apprentice. And don’t even get me started on SpottedFire. The age gap is WAY. TOO. BIG. And if he really loved Spottedleaf, why didn’t he kill himself? And as for Sandstorm, I felt that they never truly loved each other. I think they only started loving each other when Firestar saved her from falling off a gorge. Their relationship, to me, was kinda forced.

me: Hmm, interesting ship Fallowpaw. I don’t know if many people would call it a romantic ship, but I can see where you got that. Ok Frostpaw, if Firestar had killed himself, that would have been kind of… bad. But I understand the age gap (although they’re cats) and why you say Fire x Sand was kind of forced.

Last question! Do you think Firestar was a great leader, putting your likes/dislikes about him aside?

Fallowpaw: Nope! He neglected his Clan for others that didn’t want/need his help, and that’s not okay for a leader. Another way to prove that he was a bad leader, is Bramblestar trying to do the same as him, and he MESSED UP. I think leaders should always put their own Clan before others, and Firestar does the opposite of that. Also, again no offence if you think he’s a good leader🙂

Frostpaw: I think that he was a disappointing leader. He was brave and strong, the most famous of all ThunderClan, but he still neglected his clan in times of need. Like Fallowpaw said, all leaders should put their clan before others. But he had many victories and made ThunderClan the best known clan in the forest. Even though I hate Firestar, he has earned my respect.

me: Yes, Firestar did seem to put his own clan at risk sometimes by helping the others. But like Frostpaw said, hi did make Thunderclan the most known, and he probably does deserve respect, whether you like him or not.
