Hollyleaf: Was her reaction sensible? by LeafyTree

LeafyTree wonders if Hollyleaf’s train of thought was rational.

I love Hollyleaf, I think she’s a really intricate and complicated character, but was her reaction to the truth sensible?
Let’s rewind. In the events of Long Shadows, takes place the iconic fire scene, where Ashfur attempts to kill the three. Squirrelflight informs Ashfur that they are not her kits, and lets them go.
All three of them are devastated, especially Hollyleaf.
In Sunrise, Jayfeather eventually finds out Leafpool is their mother, from the parsley used to stop her milk, and Yellowfang’s clarification.
Later, Yellowfang then gives Jayfeather a crow’s feather, signifying that Crowfeather is their father.
He informs his siblings and Hollyleaf acts extremely.
She tells Jayfeather and Lionblaze that she killed Ashfur so he couldn’t reveal their secret to the clans, but Hollyleaf then reveals it at the gathering anyway.
I’m not sure what she was thinking, killing Ashfur was kind of pointless, I think the Erins just wanted to stir up drama honestly.
She dramatically reveals that she is the offspring of Leafpool and Crowfeather then runs off, and threatens Leafpool with deathberries, but doesn’t follow through.
She runs back to the tunnels, and despite her brothers’ pleading, she dashes into the tunnels as it collapses, and she is presumably dead.

Hollyleaf’s actions are very irrational in my opinion, she could’ve let Ashfur live, and if he revealed the secret, she most likely never have gone in the tunnels.
She has always been a cat with crowded visions and expectations, so it sort of makes sense that her decisions led to this.
I really love Hollyleaf, and I’m pretty sure her story would’ve been kind of bland if the events of Sunrise didn’t end up like this.
But do I think her reaction was sensible? No, I don’t. I don’t think this is a good reaction. It just ended bad for everyone.
