Hi :3 It’s Holz, and for this article I’ll be defending the ship Graystripe x Mille. Let’s get started.

First I’d like to say that Millie was absolutely a flawed mother (though not a jerk, a brat, or a bad person), and brought all her kits down. I’m not trying to deny that. She too overprotective of Briarlight, making her feel like she couldn’t do anything, and completely ignored Blossomfall and Bumblestripe. But did her flaws in parenting carry over to her relationship with Graystripe? No, and that’s why I am defending Gray x Millie. First, let’s go over their backstory a little:

Graystripe met Millie when he was captured by twolegs, and he taught her to hunt and fight. When Graystripe decided to escape and find the Clans, Mille showed her loyalty and dedication to him by leaving everything she’s every known and going with him. When Graystripe is discouraged and sad when he finds out his home was destroyed, Mille cheers him up and encourages him to keep searching. They end up finding the Clans and becoming mates.

Graystripe and Millie have three kits, Briarkit, Blossomkit, and Bumblekit. When Briarpaw gets injured by a falling tree, that’s when things go a little wrong. But I can sort of understand why Millie acted the way she did. If your child got so seriously injured her legs were paralyzed, you’d probably be a little overprotective and focus on that child more! I’m definitely not trying to excuse her behavior, especially the way she acted to her other kits, just explain it a little. Millie is not a bratty jerk with no feelings, she’s a worried mother who got too overprotective of Briarlight. Yes, she’s flawed, but she’s not a bad person.

And even if she was, I just want to say the way she acted as a mother has nothing to do with Gray x Millie. She has shown her courage, bravery, loyalty, and kindness as a mate and was incredibly determined and helpful to Graystripe when he was coming back home. She has proven herself again and again, has served ThunderClan for moons and moons, and was worthy of StarClan when she joined it.

I think I’m gonna end it here 😀 hope you enjoyed, and may StarClan light your path!
