An Analysis of Sparkpelt by Mosspaw

Mosspaw takes a closer look at Sparkpelt.

Hello BlogClan! Welcome to my article! This is my first article! Today, I’ll be analyzing Sparkpelt(up until the last book of The Broken code because I haven’t read farther) and then, I’ll be providing what I think about her. Let’s dive in!

So firstly, Sparkpelt was born as Sparkkit to Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw, and she also had a brother to Alderkit. From what I could tell, she was a bright, energetic kit, who was eager to be an apprentice. She became apprenticed to Cherrysomething(I think it’s Cherryfall) as Sparkpaw. Her brother Alderpaw became a warrior apprentice with her. When Cherryfall and Molewhisker take their apprentices out, Sparkpaw bosses Alderpaw around when they are hunting. She eventually catches a shrew and I can’t remember the other piece of prey.

But then Sparkpaw had to go and tell ThunderClan all about this. ThunderClan praised her, and poor Alderpaw was left being his sister’s shadow. Kinda like an Ivypool-Dovewing situation to me. And then Alderpaw became a med cat and was told to go on some journey to SkyClan. Sparkpaw begged to come along, and Bramblestar just said yes. They go on the journey, stop Darktail and his rogues, and I’m pretty sure that’s it.

So I guess this is my opinion. I’m sorry to all of those Sparkpelt lovers out there but this is just my opinion. When Larksong dies which is heartbreaking for her, I totally understand that, but she basically just rejects her kits. To add to that she names her jet black kit who looks just like his father Flamekit which I mean whatever I don’t know why she named him that I think because of Firestar. ANYWAY… getting back to the point, she expects Flamekit to be just like his oh-so-almighty great grandfather, FIRESTAR (who I will get to in a bit). Then when she gets exiled my Bramblestar’s imposter (Ashfur) with her daughter Finchpaw she basically just disregards Flamepaw and acts like she doesn’t have a son, up until when he becomes a warrior. Fast forward to Flamepaw becoming Flameheart. up until now Sparkplet has expected him to be great and awesome and perfect just like Firestar. Then when Bramblestar names him Flameheart and he asks for a different name which yes he is speaking out a his warrior ceramony he should be greatful and all that but still. HE IS YOUR SON!! And then when he leaves to join Shadowclan (I wonder why!?) she acts like ohh what about your family, excuse what family she just disregarded Nightheart and didn’t even care about him. She was really nice and supportive of Sunbeam though and when Nightheart came back. So maybe she realized her mistakes and all but also she always acted like she was better than everyone else.
