A Pinestar Theory by Honeyjade

Honeyjade shares their theory about Pinestar.

So, we know Pinestar, right? The ThunderClan leader who left to be a kittypet? And we know Firestar, the (cough, cough…overrated) ThunderClan leader who joined from being a kittypet. I’ve found some similarities between them and will therefore propose a theory.

Okay. First similarity. Their pelts and eyes. Pinestar is a dark ginger tom cat with green eyes. Firestar is a dark ginger tom cat with green eyes.

Number 2. Firestar joined ThunderClan from being a kittypet, and Pinestar left ThunderClan to be a kittypet. Notice anything? They both have kittypet history. Basically the opposites of each other

3. Jake. Pinestar considered Jake a good friend. Meanwhile, Jake is also Firestar’s father. Did Jake see that similarity too?

4. Leadership. Firestar and Pinestar led ThunderClan in similar ways. They both tried to prevent battles. And they both made their Clan honorable.

5. Lovers. Both of them had two cats they liked. For Pinestar it was Leopardfoot and Shanty. For Firestar, it’s Spottedleaf and Sandstorm. In the end they both chose one. Firestar and Sandstorm, Pinestar and Leopardfoot. But Firestar didn’t truly love Spottedleaf, and Pinestar didn’t truly love Leopardfoot. They both had some relationship issues.

I’d also just like to throw in there that Pinestar has a crazy leadership streak. His father, Oakstar, then him, then his son Tigerstar, then Tigerstar’s son Bramblestar, and then Tigerstar’s daughter Tawnypelt’s son Tigerstar 2. And now Bramblestar’s mate Squirrelstar, who is Firestar’s daughter….hmmmm. And also, Pinestar’s kin is a bit crazy too. Frecklewish is his sister and she was one of the cats who went mad and drove Mapleshade to madness. And his brother Birchface, was killed by Appledusk, Mapleshade’s mate. Plus Birchface was also said to be the father of Mapleshade’s kits. Anddddd, he also mated with a cat in which he was about as old as her grandmother…. So his family is a bit crazy. It’s no wonder he left to escape the Clan life 😅

So here is my theory. Pinestar helped raise Firestar. Firestar’s kittypet name was Rusty. His father is Jake, who was Pinestar’s friend. So therefore Jake and the former leader, now called Pine, helped raise Rusty and his littermates together. It definitely could be possible as Jake and Pinestar were close. Maybe Pinestar passed on some of his traits to little Rusty, who took them with him to ThunderClan. Maybe Pinestar even told Rusty about the forest cats and that’s what interested him so much with the forest.
