503 Server Error
Yes, just like last time, we got the error simply because we ran over our monthly bandwidth/traffic limit. Our current plan doesn’t allow us to continue using the site once we cross the limit, so the blog goes down. Since it resets when the month rolls over, it comes back!
Now, we (that is, me and Kate) are not exactly sure what contributes to traffic, but we are looking into solutions! For now, you don’t have to worry and can continue visiting the blog as normal 🙂 We are on the case!
I’m also thinking about starting up a little mailing list that you can opt in and out of. This mailing list would only be used to send messages if the blog is down, such as explaining that the blog is down due to a monthly limit. Let me know in the comments if you think this would be helpful 🙂

Allegiances Chat Page
There’s always an ongoing search for a mentor or an apprentice, which leads to a lot of self-promoting ads being posted on the chat page. The frequency of this has started to get a tad bit spammy since people want to make sure their comment is on the current page, which quickly buries comments.
So, we are now implementing a twice-per-week limit on “looking for mentor/apprentice” comments! This will help cut down how fast a page flips over 🙂

I think that the mailing list would be a good idea and I might sign up to get updates when the blog is down if the mailing list does get set up, though I cannot use my main email address because it contains some personal information in the name and my father has access to the account so I don’t want him to see any email messages relating to Blogclan in case he assumes that I’m spending too much time on it, so I might use my other email address that I’m using for my Blogclan/Wordpress account to get updates from the mailing list.

Thank you Embix for the update on the new mentor/apprentice search limit on the Allegiances Chat Page; I currently don’t have an apprentice, but when I do start looking for one I’ll be sure to keep this rule in mind, though I’m not one to spam the same comment whenever there’s a new page flip so this new limit might help make my search easier because I don’t have to scroll through a sea of comments that I’ve already read, plus I can schedule or pre-plan my apprentice search comments by posting them on certain days each week (like Tuesdays and Thursdays for example) or between a certain number of page flips (like one between every 2-3 page flips) and stopping when I’ve posted two comments in the same week; this helps when I’m busy working or volunteering in the charity shop/thrift store during the week so I can post a comment on the two days when I’m off work and at home and check for any replies to my previous comments during my time off, and when I’m in the charity shop/thrift store I’m busy doing things so it takes my mind off of having to comment on or check Blogclan. 🙂
