Ok. It’s Ivyshimmer back with another article about warrior cat ships! Warning: contains spoilers for Ravenpaw’s farewell. In this article I’m going to be focusing on Ravenpaw x Barley. Some people say ‘That’s not real’, and that there’s ’No proof’ but that’s the thing- there is. Here is my three reasons why Raven x Barley is real. Hope you enjoy!

Reason 1: Read this excerpt from Ravenpaw’s farewell- I’ve underlined the most important parts.

Ravenpaw felt a chill creep over his pelt. “I… I’m not going to see my home again, am I?”
“No,” Silverstream admitted. “But you must not be afraid of dying somewhere else.” There was a catch in her voice. “All that matters is that you are not alone, and that you know you are loved.”
Ravenpaw felt a painful lump rise in his throat. “I’m afraid for Barley,” he whispered.
“Barley knows that you don’t want to leave him. He understands, and he will not love you less if he cannot see you.”

This is definitely proof- this text basically states that Barley loves him.

Reason 2

Vicki stated this in an interview about the books-

5. Is it true that Ravenpaw and Barley were a couple? Or was it just a ship made up by fans? Ah, my darling Ravenpaw! I love that he is still so popular, even though he left the Clan many moons ago. When I was at Pyrkon in June, a fan said that she thought Ravenpaw had the healthiest relationship of any cats in Warriors. That made me smile. It is, of course, absolutely true that Ravenpaw and Barley were a couple. I intended it right from the start, but the books were written at a different time, when it was not possible to be open and honest about this kind of thing.

She’s an author of the books- this is definitely proof.

My third reason is this

When asked by a fan “I was wondering, Ravenpaw and Barley have a very tender, almost lover-like relationship. Was this intended, or are they just close friends?”

Vicky Holmes replies:
Ravenpaw and Barley are definitely a couple
