Fallowpaw here, and today, I will be interviewing Pumpkinpaw about some of her fav and least fav things in the Warrior Cats series! Let’s start!

Fallowpaw: Okay, so, first question: What’s your favorite Clan and why?

Pumpkinpaw: Oh god that’s a hard question… Character-wise I would say ShadowClan, they have an interesting mix of good and bad characters like Yellowfang, Brokenstar, Flametail, etc. I’m also always drawn to darker people for some reason.

Fallowpaw: Yes, ShadowClan is pretty underrated in the series. I like them too, but my favorite is SkyClan! The first warrior cats book I ever read was Cloudstar’s Journey, and I feel like I have some kind of bond with them. They also have some cool cats like Leafstar, Shrewtooth, Snookthorn… I also love SkyClan’s Destiny! So, do you have a least favorite Clan?

Pumpkinpaw: I’m so sorry Fallow, but my least favorite is SkyClan. I’ve never been able to bring myself to read many SkyClan books, it always seems so boring. They just popped out of nowhere and don’t really add anything other than in AVoS (where they do nothing the entire time), and in Fire and Ice, Bluestar’s speech about four seasons and four Clans has always stuck with me. SkyClan seems like something the Erins just thought of last second as a way to make sure AVoS wasn’t boring (which did the opposite), and they could have done so much more!

Fallowpaw: I  love Skyclan, but I agree that avos is still boring, with or without them. Also, I like all Clans actually, but I dislike the Tribe. I feel like they were taken over by the Clans, and I also don’t like how they didn’t tell Brambleclaw and co (the sundrownplace cats) why they needed to stay there. And if they could handle their own problems, Feathertail wouldn’t have died! Rip Feathertail😿. Okay so, who’s your favorite cat?

Pumpkinpaw: Ivypool all the way! She’s an absolute girlboss, I love her personality and reading about her trips to the DF. She used to be this ignored, jealous apprentice that turned into the reason why cats’ lives were saved by being a spy! It was so refreshing to have a character that wasn’t part of some big prophecy or destined for anything, just a regular cat! Other than the whole spy thing of course, but Lionblaze and Jayfeather made her do that, not some prophecy made by StarClan.

Fallowpaw: Yes, Ivypool is cool, my favorite has to be Jayfeather though! I love how he’s grumpy but also wise, and his power is by far the most interesting one of the three! I also really understand him! I just overall love him!💙 So, do you have a least favorite cat?

Pumpkinpaw: We are so different! I kind of dislike Jayfeather, but my absolute least favorite is Bramblestar. I liked him before he was leader, he had to prove that he wasn’t like Tigerstar and he was one of my favorites when I was reading TNP. But once he became leader, he became different and started abusing poor Squilf! He had so much potential as leader to become the complete opposite of his father, but instead he just was kind of weak and arrogant.

Fallowpaw: Yeah, we are different! I personally think Squilf is much more annoying than Bramble, but my absolute least favorite is Needletail! In the first book, where she was still Needlepaw, I LOVED her! Her sassy personality and how she never listened to anyone were amazing! But then, she became very manipulative and she started using poor Alderheart and Violetshine! I just hate manipulative people, and that’s why I hate Needletail. Okay, let’s move on! Do you have a favorite ship?

Pumpkinpaw: I can’t stand AVoS, but I do remember being neutral about Needletail. Anyway, my favorite ship is Bristlefrost x Rootspring, I love how they kept looking after one another, and they would’ve had such a wonderful life together if it wasn’t for Ashfur!

Fallowpaw: Awwwwww, sweet! My absolute favorite ship is Ravenpaw x Violet because they are really cute in Ravenpaw’s Path, and my favorite canon ship is Dovewing x Tigerstar because they are very sweet in the fourth apprentice! I just love how cute they all are💙. Okay, least favorite ship?

Pumpkinpaw: Ravenpaw x Barley not existing* /j

For my least favorite canon ship, I would have to say Bramble x Squirrel. Their relationship is very toxic and they have fights about every moon. It was nice in TNP, but then it became boring and repetitive.

Fallowpaw: Yeah, let’s just pretend that Ravenpaw x Barley doesn’t exist! They’re just friends! RAVENPAW X VIOLET!!!!!!!!! Okay, so my least favorite ship is Ivypool x Hawkfrost. Hawkfrost is already dead when Ivypool isn’t even born, and then he manipulates her into the Dark Forest, and people start shipping them! I REALLY don’t like it! So, do you have a favorite arc?

Pumpkinpaw: I do agree that Hawk x Ivy has to be my least favorite ship, if we are including non-canon. My favorite arc has to be OoTS, I love Ivypool (as I said before), and the Dark Forest against StarClan is one of the best plots ever!

Fallowpaw: I love OOTS too!!!!!!! There are many good characters and the Dark Forest plot is amazing! I absolutely love it!!!! So, I think I can guess that your least favorite arc is AVOS, can you explain why?

Pumpkinpaw: Yep, you guessed right. I mainly hate AVoS because of how the last three books didn’t really have much going on, and I felt that I would have died of boredom. As I said before, I don’t like SkyClan, and half of AVoS is just a bunch of cats trying to figure out borders for them.

Fallowpaw: So, we might not agree about the Clans and the cats, but we totally agree about the arcs!!! AVOS is the worst, because in book 2, 3 and 4, the characters are really bad, and book 5 and 6 are just so boring! There’s no big plot going on, and I really can’t bring myself to read it often, so I’m reading it for like, months. They also completely ruined Jayfeather’s personality, and AVOS just has the vibe of a crappy fanfiction, so let’s all consider it non-canon! Okay, sorry for the long rant, what’s your favorite book?

Pumpkinpaw: Probably a super edition, like Crookedstar’s Promise. I love reading about the backstories of characters and seeing why they did the things they did, and poor Crookedstar went through so much!

Fallowpaw: I also really like the super editions, but I personally found Crookedstar’s Promise a little depressing. My favorite is probably Yellowfang’s Secret! It was really nice to read about her time in ShadowClan, and it was really never boring! I do still have a special place in my heart for Cloudstar’s Journey though, and I also love Night Whispers and Long Shadows! So, what’s your least favorite book? Is it from AVOS?😛

Pumpkinpaw: I also love Yellowfang’s Secret, and I haven’t read AVoS in forever, so I kinda forgot what happened in the books 😛 Out of the books I do remember reading, I am probably going to have to say Onestar’s Confession (even tho it is a super edition), mainly because I gave up halfway because Onestar’s perspective was so boring to read about! Also the fact that he was mostly a terrible cat throughout it.

Fallowpaw: I think I’m going for Raging Storm, since I’m reading it now, but I read Moth Flight’s Secret since I started it, and I’m currently reading Tigerheart’s Shadow, just because it is so boring and I can never bring myself to read in it! I just hope it ends soon, so I can start TBC!
