Cadvent 2024

Hi everyone! It’s so nice to be back (amidst the downtime!! Thanks for your patience, everyone). As I often say, I’m so happy that we get to spend the comfiest part of the year together! Unless you’re in the southern hemisphere, in which case, stay cool or something. 😀

Some of you may be new here and unfamiliar with Cadvent. It started out as a blog-run Advent calendar, but has grown to a broader celebration of all things snowy, cozy, and festive! Each day starting December 1 until December 24, we’ll share a post with wintery or holiday themed animal photos, and I’ll typically ask a fun discussion question. It’s a nice way to recap the year and chat with people while enjoying some cute animal photos!

The mods need your help though! Please send in all of your festive photos!! You can either find images online (though you may have to dig deep to find ones we haven’t used yet!), or you can submit your own photo, whether that’s of your pet or a piece of art you made! If you’re unsure about whether a photo might be applicable, feel free to ask. The likely answer is: if it’s related to the holidays, winter, or the end of the school semester, then most likely! The only thing we ask is that you don’t share photos with identifying details in them, just for privacy reasons.

As I said, this started as a very Christmas-oriented tradition, but in the last few years, we’ve been trying to encourage people to share anything they find meaningful about this time of year. No matter what holiday[s] you celebrate, we welcome you to celebrate with us!
