Spoilers for the fanfictions “Clans of Change” by Maplepaw/flame and “The Cursed Prophecy” by Firekit/feather. Spoilers for TBC, ASC, TPB, and TNP.

Firekit: Hello, BlogClanners! Today, me and Mapey are here with an article about our fanfiction OCs and what canon warrior cat they match with!

Maplepaw: We will be contrasting our favorite pov characters, background characters, and villains from the Clans of Change and the Cursed Prophecy!

Firekit: Let’s jump right in! We’re going to start with our favorite pov characters!

Maplepaw: The pov characters we will talk about today are Sparrowstar and Salmonsprout!

Firekit: Mapey, you can start with the Clans of Change!

Maplepaw: Okay. So here are some of Salmonsprout’s traits:
1. Cares deeply about the cats she loves
2. Is very loyal to her Clan
3. Is often outspoken in an argument
4. Doesn’t give up easily
5. Very protective

Firekit: Okay, now I’m going to lay down Sparrowstar’s traits:
1. Is very friendly to any cat that is also friendly
2. Is very fierce when protecting his Clan
3. Is very caring to those that he loves
4. Often cracks jokes to lighten tense moods
5. Is very determined and confident to prove himself
6. At times, he is stubborn and thinks he has the only right idea

Firekit: Okay, now let’s decide on some canon cats that have similarities and differences with our pov characters’ personalities!

Maplepaw: I think Sparkpelt would match Salmonsprout best. They both care for their families and feel betrayed/heartbroken when someone they care for turns them away. Sparkpelt doesn’t show her feelings with sympathy when Nightheart leaves, but she feels upset she wasn’t the best mother she could’ve been for Nightheart. However, Salmonsprout is more expressive with her feelings to show cats how she really feels.

Firekit: I think that Sparrowstar personality matches many cats’, like Stormfur and Bramblestar, but I think I’ll have to go with Cloudtail. He is very devoted to Brightheart, just like Sparrowstar is to his sister, Roachleap, and his mate, Owlstar. He is stubborn at times, like Cloudtail was when he was still a ‘paw. He is funny and friendly, like Cloudtail. His connection with Spotmuzzle is sort of like Cloudtail’s with Princess, too. But, Sparrowstar never lost faith in StarClan like Cloudtail, and, technically, Cloudtail never believed in StarClan to begin with. Sparrowstar was never close to his father, Flameflank, like Cloudtail never was with his father, Oliver. Another difference between the two is that Sparrowstar has a close bond with his littermates, though Cloudtail, being born a kittypet and grew up in the forest, was never close to his littermates, Nami, Livy, Zack, and Taylor.

Maplepaw: Okay, now it’s time to move onto our favorite non-pov character. From the Clans of Change, I have chosen Falconsplash (aka, Wafflepaw).
1. Tries to free himself from his father’s kittypet legacy
2. Easily feels betrayed
3. Really wants to have a special connection with some cat
4. Is really, really stubborn
5. Is a loyal, happy Clanmate (most of the time)

Firekit: For my favorite non-pov character, I’ve got to go with Woodscratch. Here are his traits:
1. Funny and friendly, like Sparrowwing (which is why they are friends)
2. Occasionally insecure, sensitive, and secretive
3. Very kind and loving, especially to Roachleap
4. Always makes cats laugh, even when they are feeling down
5. Never breaks the warrior code unless absolutely necessary, though still doubts his decision

Maplepaw: I think Falconsplash is most like Firestar. They are both trying to be the best warriors they can be. Unlike Firestar, though, Falconsplash doesn’t want to embrace his kittypet blood and show his Clanmates (and the other Clans) that kittypets can be warriors if they work hard. He’d much rather hide his father’s lifestyle and would rather be known as Sorrelstar’s kit rather than Oscar’s. Even though he tries to hide his kittypet blood from the ears of other Clan cats, it doesn’t mean he has to keep all of himself a secret. Like Firestar, he always wants to help a cat in need or just some cat having a bad day. Unlike Firestar, he doesn’t often help other Clans willingly and without orders, but he does for his own Clanmates.

Firekit: I think Woodscratch is most like Graystripe, funny, friendly, kind, loving, but also has an insecure side, like when he was seeing Silverstream. The one difference the two cats have is that Graystripe would break the warrior code in a heartbeat if it was for a cat that he loved, which Woodscratch would never do. Woodscratch sticks to the warrior code no matter the consequences. They both make jokes and are a joy to be around.

Maplepaw: Last but not least, it’s time for our favorite villains!

Firekit: For my villain, I’m doing Kestrelstar. Here are his traits:
1. Overly aggressive
2. Kills just for the sole purpose of killing
3. A bit crazy in the mind ever since he had greencough
4. Never sticks to the warrior code
5. At times, he is disloyal

Maplepaw: I think my favorite villain would be Seagulleye. Here are some of his traits:
1. Doesn’t agree with his Clan’s harsh way of training
2. Deeply cares about the cats he loves
3. He is very mouse-brained when he feels hurt
4. He changed in his afterlife, letting himself be okay with Salmonsprout continuing her life, even if it wasn’t with him
5. Didn’t want revenge after he died

Firekit: I think that Kestrelstar matches great with Tigerstar 1. They were both motivated by the thought of power and ruling over the Clans, they both show no mercy when they kill a cat, and they’re both overly aggressive and, at times, even disloyal to their Clans, ThunderClan for Tigerstar, and MoonClan for Kestrelstar. The one difference they have – which makes Tigerstar seem more like a villain than Kestrelstar is that Kestrelstar was ill when he did all of this, and Tigerstar…well, he was fine, healthy, and (mostly) sane, but he did this of his own free will.

Maplepaw: Honestly, this love-driven villain of mine matches almost perfectly with Ashfur. One of the main reasons is that they became villains or somewhat (not for Ashfur) “evil” because someone they loved turned them away. They both wanted revenge on that cat, but unlike Ashfur, Seagulleye didn’t try to possess cats during the afterlife. Ashfur still wanted revenge on Squirrelflight, while Seagulleye realized he was being a complete mouse-brain and regretted trying to hurt Salmonsprout and the things she loved unlike *gives a side glance to Ashfur* somebody who tried to destroy everything that Squirrelflight loved. Another difference between Ashfur and Seagulleye is that Seagulleye was close to his sister and Ashfur didn’t really show any close relationship between him and Ferncloud. He also didn’t have a really close bond with Cloudtail, either.

Thanks for reading!
Firekit and Maplepaw out!
