Giving Warrior Cats New Names by Wisteriakit

Wisteriakit gives new names to characters from the series.

Yay first article! Wisty here! We’ve seen some random names that, admittedly, don’t make sense at times. *warning, some spoilers for A New Prophecy* Like, Yellowfang- I’m sure you thought she was yellow at first. Maybe you didn’t know she was a gray cat until you read this.

So here we go, starting off with Yellowfang! Yellowfang’s description is a gray furry cat with amber eyes. I know you could say, ‘Oh her teeth were yellow!’ Well, the parents must have been thinking ahead. A kitten probably doesn’t have yellow teeth, and you couldn’t see it at the time they probably named her. So to the naming! ‘Mousefang!’ I found nothing wrong with the suffix, but mouse because of her gray color. Another name could be ‘Ashfang,’ for the same reasons.

Next up is Tawnypelt! For those of you who don’t know, Tawnypelt is a tortoiseshell she-cat with green eyes. Tawny, on the other hand, is a yellow, gold-ish color. Neither her pelt, or her eyes at the very least, fit this description. New name? Turtleclaw. Turtle for her tortoiseshell pelt, and claw for her courageousness in battle.

And Dustpelt, a dark brown tom. When you imply dust, you think gray, pale, dusty brown, but, as I stated, he’s a brown cat. I’ll name him ‘Darkstorm.’ Dark for his darker pelt, and storm to his personality.

Birchfall, brown cat. Birch, if you don’t know, is a silver-gray or white. Opportunity for a gray tabby like his mom there, but for the new naming! Oakfur, Oak for his pelt, and ‘fur’ as a nod to his mentor because I ran out of ideas.

And hopefully last if this fills the word count, Littlecloud! When you think of clouds, you’d think of white fluffy cats, wouldn’t you? Littlecloud is a brown tom with blue eyes, and from my research of a few google searches… okay one google search, there’s not a mention of fluffiness. I do want to keep in mind that though cloud doesn’t fit him, it does mention that he’s pretty small. I think he could be Mouseleap, mouse for his smallness (mice could also be brown) and leap for the hurdles he’s passed (not very creative, I know, but I’ve worked on this too long for me to care now.)
