Will Rootspring become Wrenflights mate? By RainFang

RainFang wonders if Rootspring and Wrenflight will end up together.

Hi everyone! Rainfang here :3 Today we will be seeing if Rootspring will become Wrenflights mate. This is my first article, so please correct me if I made any mistakes. 🙂

As you know, the Erins released a sneak peek of the prologue and the first three chapters of Ivypool’s heart on the Warrior cats site. We see that in the first few paragraphs in the first chapter, it’s mostly Rootspring and Ivypool talking about their grief for Bristlefrost. And in paragraph 10 (Or 9), we see Rootspring say this:

“I understand.” Rootspring’s voice was full of sympathy as he turned to gaze into Ivypool’s eyes. “There’s a SkyClan she-cat, Wrenflight, who seems to like me, but the thought of taking a mate who isn’t Bristlefrost just seems ridiculous. Somehow I can’t move on.” He let out a deep sigh. “Ivypool, will we always feel like this?”

We see that they are both still grieving, and that there’s a Skyclan she-cat that’s interested in Rootspring. Now, think about it for a moment. Do you think that Rootspring wants someone other than Bristlefrost? No. (Admit it, you cried too).

If you read a bit more you will see this. Chapter 2:
“I could be the fifth cat!” Wrenflight exclaimed brightly, casting an adoring glance at Rootspring. “The two of us would make a great team!”

No. Just no. Girl, what part did you not understand in “ONE CAT FROM EVERY CLAN”. Not 2 cats from Skyclan, and one cat from every other clan. 1 CAT FROM EACH CLAN. And I’m sorry if it sounds like I’m hating on her, but seriously. We get that she has a crush on our GRIEVING Rootspring, but Wrenflight, you know you ain’t gonna come when IVYPOOL rolls her eyes.
Read just a little bit more, and you will see Dovewing say this (Chapter 3):
“I noticed how quickly Wrenflight volunteered to join this mission.” Dovewing’s tone was teasing now. “And I saw how she looks at you. At a guess, I’d say she’s padding after you.”

Yeah…. I’m sure the whole clan knows Wrenflight got a crush on Rootspring. And just jump to the next few sentences and you’ll see this:

Ivypool could almost feel Rootspring’s embarrassment. Dovewing’s not being too tactful today, is she?
“Is she? I hadn’t noticed,” the SkyClan tom grunted.
Ivypool twitched her whiskers in amusement. Rootspring had mentioned Wrenflight’s crush to her the other day; now he was obviously trying to put Dovewing off. But she had to admit to herself that she was relieved he wasn’t interested in the young she-cat. If he ever changed his mind, she wasn’t sure if she could be happy for him, or whether she would feel that he had betrayed Bristlefrost.

We see and we know he is not interested in Wrenflight. Now onto the real reason why I wrote this article: Will Rootspring become Wrenflights mate?
Here are reasons why he should not have her as a mate:

-He is still grieving.
-He is meant to be with Bristlefrost.
-There is a possibility that Bristlefrost may come back. A slim chance, but it’s not impossible.
-He does not return her feelings.

Here are reasons why he should have her as a mate (Maybe):

-She will help him with the grief.
If I’m being honest, I really don’t know why he would have her as a mate.
