Cinderpelt could and should have been a warrior by Falconblaze

Falconblaze argues why Cinderpelt could’ve still become a warrior.

I know the treatment of disabled cats is highly debated, but I wanna talk about Cinderpelt.
She could have still been a warrior even with her weak leg (I know that’s not the right term but it’s all I can come up with), she could still hunt and fight.

In battle maybe her leg could be seen as a weak point or put her off balance but I have seen my fair share of 3 legged dogs and cats and they have adapted and can balance, get around and do anything that a regular animal could. Like how Brightheart adapted to her missing eye and even came up with some new battle moves. Cloudpelt was a kind, patient mentor and I’m sure Fireheart/star would have been too. When Cinderpelt died, she was protecting Sorreltail and her kits from a badger, which I think she did a pretty great job at despite the fact she couldn’t use her leg, she was a medicine cat (no battle training) AND it was a creature 10x bigger than her that managed to kill many other strong warriors. She still had 3 working paws to claw with and a mouth to bite with, so why could she not defend her clan?

With hunting, one of my best friends had a 3 legged cat (RIP Cookie) and she still managed to bring a bird or mouse to the door every once in a while. The simplest way to describe how to catch a mouse is locate it, crouch, creep forward without making sound, pounce, kill it and there you have a mouse! If someone can give me a valid reason why Cinderpelt couldn’t have done any of that, comment it and I will give my opinion but I think she could do all of that with ease. It may have even been easier for her if her leg was amputated (like with Berrynose’s tail) so it couldn’t hinder her in any way (not that I think it would massively anyway). Yes she probably couldn’t hunt birds and squirrels in trees or rabbits because of their speed but that’s not the only prey in the forest.

Basically, Cinderpelt should have been a warrior and even though she had a ‘bad’ leg, it wouldn’t have affected her life in any way.
