Hey y’all, it’s Misty back with her 2nd article! Today i’m going to talk about Bluestar, and why I love her, as well as why she doesn’t deserve her hate.
So, lets talk about Bluestar!
So, I actually have read Bluestar’s Prophecy, it’s the only SE/Novella that I’ve read, so I do know a lot about her. So I think that some people like her, and see her as a loyal, wise and brave ThunderClan leader (that she is/j), or they don’t like her because of how she lost her mind, and couldn’t be a good leader, and believe that she’s fragile and weak. I personally think she’s amazing. Yes, she did lose her mind, but she had reasons. She had a distant father, who she never really got to know, lost her mother, sister, gave away her kits, and watched them grow up in a different clan without knowing who their mother was, dead mate, and she outlived two (of her) deputies, and then got terribly betrayed by the third. She wasn’t fragile, or weak, she had many sad and crushing events in her life, and Tigerclaw/star’s betrayal was the cherry on top that just completely finished her. She lost her whole family (mom, dad, sis, mate, and two kits), and her deputies who were basically the closest cat’s to her. No wonder she lost her mind. She had so much tragedy in her life. Now that i’ve shown why (I think) the haters are wrong, I’m gonna show why she’s great. Leading up to her betrayal, she was a great, wise, loyal, noble, brave (the list goes on), ThunderClan leader. That’s what she was known for in ThunderClan, and by the other Clans. A great leader. Which means that until the end of her leadership, she was great. Even though she suffered so much loss, and trauma during her life, Bluestar managed to still be a great warrior, and amazing leader for all of those moons until her betrayal. Which is a long time. So even though she was a bad leader for some of the books, its important not to forget about the rest of her life, where she was an amazing leader, despite all the loss that she suffered. She was strong, fought through pain, was loyal enough to give up her kits, and still remained a great leader.
And this, my friends is why I love her. Feel free to tell my your opinions, if you agree/disagree, or anything else.

I would like to refute your “no wonder she lost her mind” argument right there. Mapleshade also lost her kits and technically her mate too (in a way) but does that mean you should defend her for going crazy. Absolutely not. She freakin’ killed 3 cats! and that’s not counting how many she caused the death of when she was in the DF. I know that’s a bit extreme, but you can’t always defend someone for doing bad things because they had reasons.

I agree with you on the Mapleshade part, but I personally don’t think “losing her mind” is really the right word for Bluestar. She had a lot of mental struggles but they didn’t make her do evil things like Mapleshade did.
I agree with you 100%. Bluestar was a tragic figure, but she redeemed herself at the end of her life and by saving Firestar from the dog, shaped the future of her clan for many years to come.

I grew up with Bluestar so… I just can’t hate her lol, and i think that, when Rusty and Greypaw meet up, if was there another leader, Rusty would never become Firepaw/heart/star, bcs, an example Thistleclaw was leader, i think Rusty would be DEATH lmao
