Mates That Are Not Talked About Part 1: Sorrelstripe and Dewnose by Dewpaw

Dewpaw takes a look at Sorrelstripe and Dewnose’s relationship.

Today, I’ll be talking about my opinions on one of the many not talked about mates: Sorrelsrtipe and Dewnose. And at the end I will tell you if they are or aren’t good enough mates to each other. Let’s start this off!

Are they related?
It takes a little thinking to do, but yes, they are related. Sorrelstripe’s father is Lionblaze, who’s grandfather in Firestar, who’s nephew is Cloudtail. Cloudtail is Dewnose’s father, so they’re pretty closely related. But nearly every couple in Warriors are related, so I can’t judge them.

Have their parents ever interacted?
So far? Not really. Brightheart and Cloudtail have never really talked to Lionblaze and Cinderheart. Both couples have never really had anything to say about Sorrelstripe and Dewnose being together. Did they approve of them being mates? In my opinion they didn’t, but we’ll never really know.

How did these two minor characters get together?
Sure, Sorrelstripe and Dewnose played a very small part in some series, filling up hunting patrols, etc. We’ve never really seen them interact. So how did this come to be? It most likely happened in between two books (which seems to happen a lot in the warriors series.), but nothing gives us much information at how this happened.

Do Sorrelstripe and Dewnose REALLY like each other?
Like I said before: We’ve never seen them interact. And once they became mates, Dewnose hardly ever visited his kits: Baykit and Myrtlekit. While they were mates (and before as well) they are never seen together. We always saw Sorrelstripe comforting Baykit, Myrtlekit, Nightkit and Finchkit……but where was Dewnose? A lot of the time we saw Dewnose with Plumstone. The two of them would be kind of mean to other cats. Like when they were arguing with Nightheart.

Does Dewnose like Plumstone?
I’m honestly going to say yes. They are seen together pretty often…usually arguing with other cats. Dewnose is never with Sorrelstripe, but with Plumstone. Plumstone and Dewnose also share some similarities in their personalities. They’re both kinda mean and stubborn. So, why aren’t they together? Sorrelstripe is really the exact opposite of Dewnose.

Two totally different personalities:
Sorrelstripe has always been an eager, quiet, friendly and caring cat…..while Dewnose is an angry, mean, lazy and stubborn cat who doesn’t really think before his actions. I think that their kit: Myrtlebloom inherited some of that from Dewnose. She could be mean to Nightheart from time to time. Bayshine was always on Nighthearts side no matter what, I think he got that from Sorrelstripe. So, the parents have different personalities, as well as the kits…..that must be hard.

What was the point of them becoming mates?
Well sure, they had Bayshine and Myrtlebloom, who have played a good part in the ASC series. But why are Sorrelstripe and Dewnose their parents? You think the Erin’s could’ve put two more known characters and let THEM be their parents. *cough, cough, Ivypool, cough, Fernsong, cough, cough* Anyway, what was the point besides having Bayshine and Myrtlebloom as characters?

Does Sorrelstripe deserve Dewnose?
No! She definitely doesn’t! She’s always helping other cats with a kind and caring way. Dewnose has never done anything for her. He’s never watched over their kits, never has he been beside Sorrelstripe, never did he really talk to his kits either. So, even Bayshine and Myrtlebloom don’t deserve him! In my opinion, he’s definitely a bad father.

Are they good mates?
No!!!!!!!!!!! Sorrelstripe has had to put up with Dewnose’s anger problems and laziness while being mates! These two aren’t the perfect match.
And yeah, they might be bad mates to each other, but they’re good characters when they’re NOT together.
