Hello! I’m silverthorn here with another article! This is a medicine cat guide. This means it will have more than just herbs. This is all my own research, but that also means it’s not fact checked. I am looking for a metor, and let’s get started!

Thorn in paw(or any other body part)
This is by far the most common ailment a cat can have. You remove the thorn, put some marigold on it, if you have some to spare add oak leaves, and secure it with cobweb.

Battle wounds
Chew horsetail, marigold, and comfrey into a pulp, then spread it in the wound. Once you’ve done that, spread cobweb all over the wound. Give the cat thyme if there’re in shock, and poppy seeds for the pain.

Giving birth
This really isn’t something you can help with much. The most you can do is give them burdock if they’re expecting, a stick to bite down on for the pain, and rosemary leaves.

Confusing vision from starclan
Basically any vision. Try saying, “Erins, a little help please?” If that doesn’t work, then pretend you’re trying and when it’s too late the answer will reveal itself. Not great timing, but it works.

Chill
If you don’t have graystripe in your clan than this is useless because graystripe is the only cat to get cold. If he is in your clan just give him feverfew and lavender.

Greencough
Catmint. But if you aren’t leafpool and don’t just fill your den with catmint treat the symptoms. Tansy for cough, feverfew for fever, and if they are sniffling, I’m sure Runningnose can help.😀

Bites
Weather from a cat, a rat, a stoat or something else, just add burdock root to the pulp of the battle wounds cure. For a rat bite, roll in wild garlic.

Silverthorn infection
Deathberry flesh. DO NOT GIVE THEM THE SEEDS.

Nettle stings

Chew dock leaves into a pulp. Spread on stings. Give the cat some to eat as well.

Stomach pain
Juniper berries. Or poppy seeds. But don’t over do the poppy seeds because they make cats sleepy.

Poison
Feed the cat yarrow. It will make them vomit, but that will draw the poison out of their stomach. Give them dandelion root for meadow saffron poisoning.

Traveling herbs
Parsley, daisy leafs, burnet and Camille for long journeys.

And that is a full-ish guide to what a medicine cat will need to know the most. I know there is more , but this is what you will use most often. Good bye!

  • This is so cool! My brother wants to be a medicine cat so I’ll definitely show him this. Idk if this is relevant, but there is a specific type of stick that is bendy and can be used as a type of string to hold a bandage or leaves in place!
