It is I, Dawnkit, formerly known as Dawnpaw/song. So we all know the story. Tigerclaw set up a trap for Bluestar, Fireheart told her to stay in camp, but Cinderpaw left anyway and had her leg twisted by a monster, Yellowfang said she couldn’t become a warrior, and she became a medicine cat instead and trained Leafpool. But what if Yellowfang was wrong? What if Cinderpelt could become a warrior? Besides, StarClan themselves had the destiny of a warrior planned out for Cinderpelt. She was cheated out of her destiny, and this is why I think Yellowfang cheated Cinderpaw out of her destiny.
Yellowfang
So, here’s my theory. Yellowfang was getting old, and she knew this. She figured she needed an apprentice, but nobody would volunteer. She decided she would keep going solo as a medicine cat. Suddenly, young Cinderpaw got hit by a monster, and she saved her life and enjoyed Cinderpaw’s company. Still, she realized Cinderpaw would struggle as a warrior, knew she needed an apprentice, and knew she got along with Cinderpaw and made up the excuse that Cinderpaw couldn’t become a warrior. This wasn’t true! Cinderpaw still had potential! Just because a cat has a disability doesn’t mean they can’t become a warrior!
The fire
So, let’s just believe Cinderpaw is still a warrior apprentice. With only one medicine cat, ThunderClan wouldn’t have allowed Yellowfang to go with Fireheart into the camp in the first place, so Yellowfang is still there. A long time later, she begins training Leafpaw, and eventually, Yellowfang dies. Leafpaw goes on to be the full medicine cat. Or, Yellowfang does go into the fire anyway, oh, no Cinderpaw to save Littlecloud and Whitethroat! (Smacks face and groans) Does Cinderpaw know herbs from being in Yellowfang’s den for a while and save them anyway?
Other cats
Cinderpaw/pelt was cheated! What about Deadfoot, the deputy of WindClan? He has a twisted front paw, he’s still a warrior and even went on to be deputy! What about Briarlight? Her situation was way worse than Cinderpelt’s, and she’s technically considered a warrior! (Sure she can’t patrol and hunt and stuff but she still got a warrior name) But hey, you may be going, Deadfoot’s front leg was what’s wrong, Cinderpaw had her back leg damaged, but consider this! JaGgEd PeAk.

you made some fair points! however, i dont think that cinderpelt would have enjoyed being pitied and coddeled during her specialized warrior training and I think she would have been held back from battles which (if I remember correctly) was something she was quite enthusiastic about

Honestly, yes I side with Cinderpelt. Just because you have MINOR injury you cant be a warrior.That’s ridiculous.Same goes to Jayfeather. I think Leafpool just said he cant be a warrior because she wanted at least one of her kits under her watchful eye. Jayfeather could’ve been a warrior somehow!

Also Jagged Peak had a broken leg as well didn’t he? That’s why he’s mad at Cinderpelt in the photo LOL
i agree.cinderpelt became medicine cat by error.she misinterpreted starclan’s vision about tiger and fire………also that caused her to be bitter to leafpool later in life….a mistake on yellowfang and starclan’s part
Good points! I do believe Cinderpelt could and should have been a warrior so I blame Yellowfang for this one.
Great article! The Fire section of the article made less sense near the end of that part but I thought the end of the whole article was funny with the JaGgEd PeAk
Also Brightheart (I’m low-key obsessed with her, don’t ask) got through an injury, I know it didn’t affect her in the same way but still. Also this is a cool theory but
A) I like yellowfang too much to want this to be true and
B) StarClan probably would’ve sent a sign or a warning to Fireheart/bluestar/yellowfang to tell them it was not meant to be!

Great article! I completely agree that Cinderpelt could have become a warrior. I’m not sure that Yellowfang intentionally cheated on Cinderpelt, but she definitely played a factor in Cinderpelt becoming a medicine cat.

Interesting! Yeah, Cinderpelt deserved to be warrior…… But what about Sorreltail and her kits? Who would’ve saved them? Yellow fang would probably be dead and Leafpool wouldn’t be back from being with Crowfeather on time….
