The internet is a storm of URLs, wi-fi and strings of dangerous code, whirling and thundering. Out in the wilderness you can only survive so long unaided, but in here, behind the mellow yellow windows, a safe and comforting place awaits. This place is a respite from the internet; the fire crackles invitingly and alluring rainbow-coloured drinks are poured into glasses. Exciting chatter fills the rooms from tables bustling with friends, eating from trays of warm, rustic carum bread and hearty stews. Gentle music comes from the band in the background.

Come in, chat away, have a great time! The old location may have been overrun by the Codekind, but this new building has three-meter thick walls, three floors and turret bedrooms to rest in at the top! We’ve returned, free from the battles of the secret pages! A safe micro-community of equality and no judgement. Hang up your HTML-reflective suit at the door and settle in with a drink and a meal.
Notice Board: Free candy in the bowl on the counter! What types of candy are there? Yes.
“At this point, there are two groups- the crazy people who wanna destroy this supposed sanctuary because they need some chaos in this place to stay satisfied with themselves,” Shadow said quietly. “And the people who are getting traumatized for life by the other group or are just flat-out annoyed, have nowhere else to go, and just want some hecking peace,”
She paused. “Ha, like that’s gonna happen”
yes, she just said that entire sentence to herself.
and people were still staring at her for almost destroying the entire Hazelpage with a yeet.
“The latter group is what the rooms upstairs are for,” Emberdawn said quietly.
She started to say, “would be a shame if… someone were to destroy it >:)” but she was in enough trouble already.
instead she started reading manga under the table.
“It would be a shame, yes, and it would also be a shame for me to ban you from the Hazel Page!” Emberdawn said with a smile on her face, but completely serious.
Shadow fell over and dropped her book.
EMBIX COULD READ MINDS.
oh shoot oh shoot oh SHOOT she needed to hide before she found out anything-
Emberdawn raised an eyebrow from across the room. “Are you okay, Shadow?” She asked innocently.
Oh shoot, she was screwed. “N-nothing,” she mumbled and stuck her face into her book, trying her best to be as interested in it as possible.
Fawny left her room and leaped down the stairs into the lobby. She walked over to Emby with a big smile. “Thanks for getting me a room, I feel much better after taking a nap,” Fawny said gratefully. She noticed that Emberdawn had been kind of quiet lately. “Uh, Emby you seem a little stressed out yourself. Would you like some help?” offered Fawny, glancing at all the destruction around her.
(I would prefer to be referred to as Embix since there’s another member on the blog who goes by Emby 😛 Could get veeeeeeeeery confusing)
“Hm? Nah, it’s just chaos. A bit more than usual, but it’s nothing we can’t handle.”
“Cool, sorry. I always forget whether your nickname is Embix or Emby 😛 “
(Embix, I’ve never gone by Emby ever 😛 )
“oof”
“I may be in the first group at the moment??? Just maybe??????” Says Peb, grimacing.
But when was the Hazelpage ever not chaos?? 😛“Eh it depends on my mood.” She shrugs, then perks up. “I actually feel like hot chocolate with mini marshmallows right now… anyone know where I can get that?”
Shadow muttered to herself, “was I really that loud? Peb’s across the room…”
“Yeah!” said Peb, hearing that too.
“Well dangit, either you have superhearing or I’m just loud,” she said, not bothering to lower her voice this time. “Most likely the second option, I’m loud when trying to get my point across and have something really firing me up enough to be loud, but otherwise people say I’m too quiet.”
Then she yelled, “Don’t any of you dare say nobody cares about that random bit of information!”
I mayyyyy have superhearing 😛
Flamecloud glances up at the sky. It’s late, and she’s going to have to stay somewhere. She sees a random cat, and walks up to him. Agh, social interaction, she thinks to herself.
“Hey,” she mews, “are there any hotels around here?” The tom glances uneasily over his shoulder, at the building that Flamecloud had just escaped from.
“If you want a place to stay, you’re going to have to check out the hazel. It’s the only place nearby.” with that, he rushed off.
Flamecloud let out a sigh. The sounds had died down, but still…. Flamecloud reared up onto her hind legs, grabbing a garbage lid in her teeth. Holding it protectively over the back of her head, she crept towards the door. Slowly, she nudged to door open. Nothing seemed to flying through the air at the moment. Still hiding behind the garbage lid, she snuck over to the cat behind the counter, who looked like she was mostly sane and hopefully wouldn’t attack her.
“Um,” Flamecloud mewed, stepping over a piece of mushed cake, and trying not to make eye contact with any of the less sane looking cats,”Could I get a room for tonight?”
Emberdawn waved Flamecloud over to the counter. “It’ll be 20 pixels or roughly $2 USD per night,” she answered.
Flamecloud pulls a blue wallet out of her ear.
“Here you go,” she says, holding out a crisp five dollar bill.
“Two nights, then?”
“Yep”
She handed Flamecloud a dollar for change and a room key. “Have a nice stay!”
“Hey Flamecloud!” calls Peb kindly, waving from her cozy seat at the fire in a leather recliner chair, under a wool blanket.
Flamecloud waves back, beginning to realize that the cats here probably actually won’t kill her.
hey flamecloud willow came up to her
“Hello fellow earthling,” replied Flamecloud.
waant some cake willowsays handing her one
“Sure,” Flamecloud mews, taking the cake and consuming it. “Thanks,” she adds, her face resembling a chipmunk with acorns in it’s mouth.
I won’t kill you 😉
“That’s good,” said Flamecloud. “I don’t want to die today.”
Don’t trust me >:]
lets go lesbians here we go lesbians
“Think it’s time I pay my room again?” Peb says. She holds out a 20 dollar bill for Embix at the counter.
Emberdawn takes the bill. “This’ll cover about 10 or so nights in addition to the 2 you still have left on your original payment, so there’s that!” She told Pebble cheerfully.
“Oh cool!” replies Peb.
Sweets enters. A blast of wind whistles into the building. Leaves with colors of flames twirl in the air. Sweets ignored the mess of her hair and walks to order.
“Three pumpkin pies, and a four tier pumpkin spice cake with French vanilla frosting, how much?”
“And a room for three nights?”
“$2 USD per night, so $6.”
“Dang that’s cheap” Fawny exclaimed. “You must get all the money from the drinks and food” she guessed.
“Yep, and to be fair for our boarders, since most of you are not over 18 and don’t have access to a lot of money.”
wow someone relateable
Emberdawn ran her finger down the menu, checking the prices. “Roughly $130, $20 each for the three pies and $70 for the custom cake.”
*Slaps a massive chunk of cash *
“Keep the change.”
Peb catches the leaves and puts them color coded in her scrapbook, crimson fading to yellow. She runs around and collects the ones she missed.
Peb gets up from her chair, moving her fire-warmed blanket aside, and goes up to the counter. “May I have some hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and loads of whipped cream and a spoon, please?” she asks.
Emberdawn nodded and grabbed a mug. After a few, short minutes, she passed it over to Pebble. “Enjoy!”
“Thanks!”
WHERE YOU GOING FLAMECLOUD shouted willow
“Come back!”, screeched Eagie, joining Willow.
Oops, I shouldn’t scream at my mentor, should I?, thought Eagie.
oh, well, I did it anyway, she thought to herself, she wasn’t a very well behaved apprentice anyway.
Flamecloud appears behind Eaglepaw, holding the lid of a trash can protectively over her head.
“Yeah, I’m back”, she whispers, glancing nervously over her back” I just got a little frightened by all the yeeting.”
oof sorry did not mean to scare you
“Its okay” says Flamecloud, peering out from underneath the trash can lid.
“Ok”, Eagie mewed in the most reassuring voice she could manage. “Hey, it’s gonna be ok.”, she said noticing Flamecloud’s trash can lid.
“If you say so,” says Flamecloud uneasily, slowly lowering her trashcan lid, and glancing around the room with suspicious green eyes.
IM SURE AM A GREAT ROLE MODEL willow told everybody
“Yes, of course” Flamecloud says, nodding agreeably.
but i yeeted cakes remember lol
“Well,” Flamecloud said, trying to be agreeable (as her hufflepuff nature demands her to be) and truthful at the same time, “Maybe not the greatest role model then.” Flamecloud pauses, wondering how she is having several different conversations with Willow at the same time.
“I’M AN EVEN BETTER ROLE MODEL YEET” Shadow screamed.
Flamecloud pears cautiously around her trash can lid, preparing to block any yeeted food that might come her way.
“Chill, I wasn’t really going to yeet… I mean I wish I could but I’m already in enough trouble already, so you can expect some peace from me for a bit”
“Phew,” Flamecloud murmured, setting the trash can lid down beside her.
UH
YEAH
hey um person how much do i pay to stay the next moon here?
Emberdawn quickly did the math. “Roughly $60 USD, give or take a few dollars depending on how long a month is.”
ok….willlow gave him money
“I’m female,” Emberdawn said sheepishly. She gave Willow a room key and pointed at the stairs. “Go up the stairs and find the room number that’s listed on your key, and that’s your room!”
oof sorry
I just bunk in the lobby room

I’d rather cookies but SuREEEeeeeee
pssst are we people or cats here?….
I’m not sure 🙂
well when i joined we were people but then i went inactive and forgot this place existed and suddenly we’re both soooo idk
Ima cat, but you can be either! Up to you 😀
Peb sat my the fire in the chair under the blanket, as blissfully cozy as can be. She sipped her hot chocolate, lapping up the whipped cream sleepily.
Blossomkit finished her coffee, then turned to the fire and warmed up. After a while, she got up and went to the counter. “Can I help with anything to earn some money to stay the night? I only have 10 US dollars.” She asked the cat, Embix, behind the counter. “Oh, I almost forgot to pay you for the coffee! Silly me!” She pawed 3 US dollars out of her wallet and slapped them on the counter. “Keep the change.” She added.
“10 USD will cover 5 nights!” Emberdawn replied. “Otherwise, you can work in the Tavern here for the duration of your stay, but not behind the counter.” She tapped her fingers on the counter. “Only permanent staff are allowed back here.”
“oh good! Can I get a room for two nights? Then I’ll come down and serve drinks, food, stop chaos, stuff like that to to pay for more nights.” She smiled, then sat on a stool. She pawed 4 US dollars out of her wallet and exclaimed “dang, I only have 3 US dollars left.”
Emberdawn nodded, took the money and gave her a room key in exchange. “We’ve got enough people to serve, it’s mostly stopping the chaos that we need help with.”
“Thanks! I’ll try to stop chaos!” 🙂
“hA like that’s even possible to stop, good luck trying” Shadow said unhelpfully.
Peb fell asleep, dreaming of yeeting pastries.
Shadow took a pastry that she totally didn’t steal from Embix and shoved it in Peb’s hand, waiting for her to yeet.
willow watched this with a smirk on her face
Peb suddenly woke up. She shook herself out in the chair, then spotted the pastry in her paw with bewilderment. She saw Shadow, who seemed to be waiting for something, and Willow snickering further away.
Deciding against saying anything, Peb just grinned. “Thanks for the treat!” With that she stuffed her face with the pastry.
aww man willow giggled
Peb held back a smile.
Shadow muttered “dangit”
(Sounds like a lovely dream)
