Need some help with school? You’ve come to the right place!
Welcome to the Training Hollow, where you can get help from or help others with their academics! If you can’t quite understand something you learned in school or you’re stuck on a particular question, ask away for help on this page! There’s just one pretty important rule to follow on this page:
NO ACADEMIC FRAUD!
Academic fraud means cheating on your quizzes, tests, labs, and assignments by using answer keys or by purely copying another person’s work (aka plagiarism). Please do all of your work by yourself! Even if someone gives you the step-by-step solution, do it again yourself so you can understand how the solution was reached or why something specific was done in a specific step.
To those wishing to help others, try to focus more on helping the BlogClanner reach the answer themselves 🙂 Teach them the methods or reasoning that’ll lead to the solution. Just giving them the answer might not teach them how to do similar questions in the future!
As the old saying goes,

Found out in math last week that imaginary numbers (ex. square root of -17) exist in this world so…
What’s the point of them if they’re just imaginary???
To torture children into learning pointless imaginary square roots so that it can take up all the space in their heads and then blame them later when they don’t remember other stuff :)/j
😂😂😂
They’re important in physics and engineering. Don’t ask me how or why—not my field.
Math is pointless anyway so nothing new going on there- /jI agreenO iT IS vERy iMpOrtanT it’s nOt likE We cArRy a caLCUlatoR in oUR pOckeTs everyWherE we gOwHaT aBoUt OuR pHoNe’S? tHeY cAn AnSwEr aNyThing!

Nooo I love math
you’ll learn about them more in advanced algebra and maybe trig, essentially imaginary numbers allow things like square roots of negatives to exist which can be useful in solving certain equations. you also use them in pre-calc and calc ab, where imaginary numbers (i especially aka square root of -1) are used to determine things like finding polar form with the modulus and argument. They’re also super useful when working with complex numbers, ie finding roots of complex numbers using de moivre’s theorem, plotting in the cartesian and complex planes, finding trigonometric forms, etc.
tldr; imaginary numbers are basically useless until you start hitting calc-level concepts
Pretty sure it’ll be helpful later on if you decide to go into most of the theoretical fields 😀
just helpful for physics and engineering, idk why they are need but yes
First, while studying imaginary and complex numbers, you can solve equations that do not have real numbers as solutions. A simple example is that when the discriminant of a quadratic equation has a negative value, the quadratic equation’s solution is a complex number. In addition, we study and learn imaginary and complex numbers because they can be used in various fields such as applied mathematics, physics, and engineering and can contribute to development.
My dad tried to explain them to me back in sixth grade 😀
That day was one of the many where I died mentally
HI GUYS I MUST KNOW: HOW DO I GET A PROFILE PICTURE!?!? I WANT ONE SO BAD ASDFGHGFGHGFGHJG
hEllO hAlo. So basically on the top right corner there’s a pic of a stick figure and then u click on it and it says “register” or smth like that. It’ll tell you to put your email address etc and then finally it’ll lead you to a page where you can edit your pfp and your display name (and it’ll stay permanently until you decide to change it)
if you have an account, click the top right corner and scroll to part where it says profile picture. then upload the photo you want and save it.
Hi Halo(approved nickname?)!
To get a profile picture, you click the person icon, then ‘edit profile’. Next, you scroll down till you see two images! You click the button ‘delete image’, then ‘upload image’ , and upload the imagine you want to use!
This question would be better for maybe the Blogteam den, as the training hollow is used for school-related things!
I sound like a robot lolAre you ChatGPT in disguise—
Nah, then she would’ve made a lot more mistakes :PP Fr tho, chatgpt can’t even count :PP
Mildly embarrassing question but any advice on not breaking wrists while attempting to jump when doing quads? 😭😅
This morning I tried and I hurt my wrist and honestly idrc if I get hurt but how will I explain THAT to my parents?…..
Tell them u fell off ur bed or smthn that what i do also HELLO FELLOW THERIAN/QUADROBIST FINALLYYYY
YAY HIII I THINK IM A THERIAN HEHE
practice on soft grass or on the bed. If you’re doing walks, probably do it on a carpet or on grass, and if you’re doing jumps maybe try on your bed if it’s not a bunk bed?
Thanks for the advice! I recently sold my bunk bed as we are moving so the floor mattress should be good 😛
hehe. HI!?
Hi RebelWisper!! It’s nice to meet you 😀
This is the Training Hollow (mainly for help with school or anything you want to learn), so if you want to meet more people, you could check out the blogclan Tavern 😀
any advice on memorizing spellings of words and/or their associated meaning? i’m trying to get past the regional bee this year and could use some tips lol
“sound out” the words. my pre-k teacher taught us reading by not memorizing “sight” words, but by sounding out each word. like this:
wednesday becomes, quite literally, wed-nes-day
beautiful becomes be-aw-ti-ful, because au makes the aw sound. but ig this depends on where you live lol so take this with a grain of salt
this helps me remember spelling because i’m pronouncing it using the spelling instead of its real pronunciation.
as for memorizing the meanings:
-generic, but use flash cards. it does wonders sometimes lol
-say the word, then the meaning over and over again. basically until it’s engraved into your brain. so then when you say the word, you’ll just naturally associate the meaning with it
-use said words. put them in a story, an essay, even just an email to a teacher. using words helps a lot
if you have any questions, feel free to ask (ik i didn’t expain it really well; it sounded better in my head 😛 )! gl on the regional and i hope this helps! 🙂
I’d suggest breaking up the words into smaller words that you can easily memorize, or just break them apart at the syllables (ex., Herculean, Her-cu-lean). The syllables in general are a really great help, so maybe look up some tips on those (like how if a multi-syllable word has a double letter (iMMediate, aLLies), a syllable break will go in between the two letters (iM-Med-ia-te, aL-Lies). another one is the vowel pairs (ai, ea, ou, etc.) which usually aren’t separated and all have unique noise combinations and etc.,)
Another really minor tip is just comparing words to words you’ve already memorized (Argonautica, nautical; Herakles, Heraklion, Hermes + Aphrodite, Hermaphroditus)
Hope this helps, and good luck with the spelling bee!!!!! 😀
Howdy! I’m practicing long division since i’m very bad at it, so does anyone have any equations? Nothing with fractions, negative numbers, or answers! Greatly appreciated
ヽ(✿゚▽゚)ノ
hi!! i remember long division was tough for me when i was learning it 😛 i don’t want to endorse ai for all uses, but sometimes it is really helpful for giving you practice problems (as well as solutions and explanations if you want them):
1. 1,764 \ 12
2. 3,528 \ 24
3. 5,630 \ 47
4. 8,409 \ 37
5. 9,624 \ 36
6. 7,209 \ 27
7. 4,812 \ 18
8. 10,836 \ 54
9. 6,751 \ 29
10. 3,216 \ 16
Thanks! I’ll definitely be using these to help me study! 😀
My dear mother taught me a mnemonic device. Dad Mom Sister Brother Dog. Divide, multiply, subtract, bring down. It’s the order of operations in long division.
I’ll do an easier one. 3/36. Don’t look at the whole number, just look at the one in front. 3 goes into 3 1 time.
…1
3/36
-3=
0. then you bring down the six, because that’s what you’re dividing next.
…1
3/
36-3=
06
how many times does 3 go into 6? 2 times.
…12
3/
36-3=
06
-6
=0.
Basically, long division separates bigger numbers into hundreds, tens, and ones. You do each step like they’re all ones, and then at the end you’re left with the answer. In this case, 12
Try this now:
1. 5/65
2. 13/182
3. 4/112
How do you study for Spanish?
Like, I honestly can’t be bothered, but I’m failing so uh
HELP TvT
perhaps flashcards? put the words into quizlet and you can study with the activities. i find it very useful
Uhhh… well, you could just
cheat by using Google translateI mean, I’m in beginner spanish so uh- yeah this was not helpful (because I’ve never had to study for it-)
Maybe do what you do for other classes? Like I know rojo is red because it starts with ‘r’ but other than that…
What I find that helps is that a lot of the words are similar or the same, they have a proper name for that but I’m too lazy to remember what it is, so that helps a lot.
Also like- quizlets/booklets and things like that can help.
i think you’re talking about cognates 😛 /lh
i read this and immediately thought of kotlc
same I was so confused
oh yeah lol i forgot that existed in kotlc
SPANISH OR VANISH
Maybe start Duolingo? It can help get you ahead so you know loads of stuff, you don’t even have to do it committedly, (that’s not a word oh well) U can just do it every now and then as a refresher. Also you could associate Spanish words with words in english?
iT’s eIThEr sPaNIsH oR vANiSh–
i’m learning french at school, and i’d study a lot with flashcards of key words i had to know, but also spending a lot of time revising grammar. idk if spanish also has some wild grammar rules like french does, but i find that teachers often care the most about you having natural grammar structures, so i’d focus on that ^^
omg i agree our grammar rules are crazy
plss the french teacher was trying to explain the conditional to us and she was like ‘oh it’s less of a tense, and more of a mood’ like pls what
w h a t thats not what it is at all its more of an if
ohh ok i think i mixed it up with something else in my head bc i think i was slacking off during that class that explains why i was so confused haha
Oh yeah this thing costs four-twenty-nineteen cents…
literally
id like to buy a brand new tv for one thousand three hundred four-twenty-seventeen bucks pls
omg fr
Well, I would for sure recommend flash cards, bc that’s what I always use for Latin and Greek, and they’re really useful! You could also use StudyGo, I use that for French sometimes and it’s handy too!
Duolingo and using flashcards definitely help!! idk if you use it for school, but using Quizlet helps a lot :DD
can somebody explain titration in chemistry? I don’t get too much in chemistry and this is one of those things
It’s a way to determine the concentration of a chemical. Basically you mix the chemical with a reagent and an indicator, and as the chemical and the reagent react, the indicator changes color. Once the chemical and the reagent are balanced, the indicator reaches a certain color. Then you can calculate, from how much reagent you added, how concentrated the original chemical is.
They are not actually imaginary
Please remember to reply ^^
can someone please explain binary numbers to me in detail? ty 🙂
Binary numbers are base 2, as opposed to our normal decimal system which is base 10. In binary there are only two digits, 0 and 1. This is used internally in computers, because 0 and 1 can be represented by the two states of a switch, off and on.
In our decimal system, the places in a number represent powers of 10, the first four places from right to left represent ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands. In binary, the places represent powers of two, and the first four places from right to left are ones, twos, fours, and eights.
Here are the numbers from 1 to ten in decimal and the equivalent in binary:
0 0
1 1
2 10
3 11
4 100
5 101
6 110
7 111
8 1000
9 1001
10 1010
11 1011
12 1100
13 1101
14 1110
15 1111
I hope this was helpful.
thank you so much, this helps a lot!
Okay okay so the reproductive system of angiosperms is cool and all, but how do gymnosperms do it? I really need a non-ChatGPT explanation lol
gymnosperms rely on the wind to reproduce. a male would create some pollen that the wind blows to a female, which then uses that to fertilize the egg.
Hello! I just joined our new school band, and I got alto saxophone! I’m super excited, but, um, I can’t play it 😅😛
Does anyone have any tips? My main problems are the positioning (argh why so hard??? >:( ), getting a good sound, and making sure that the pitches aren’t an octave higher than they should be 😛
I’ve been playing piano and guitar for a while (8 and 3 years respectively) so I’m very familiar with music! It’s just that it seems like I’m suited for strings haha. Thanks! 😀
not an alto sax player so idk how to play, but for your mouth piece positioning, don’t put it like a clarinet mouth piece. like DON’T move it so that the top part (assuming the part where you place the reed is the bottom) is touching the the back of the teeth of the top jaw. like that’s really bad posture. so i would suggest move the sax up (not your head, your sax up) so that you are positioning your mouth with mouth piece correctly. i hope this description made sense and helped. it is really hard to explain it without someone in real life showing it, so i suggest you can ask your band teacher, having a sax tutor to help, or look at some youtube videos
Thanks Willow! Thankfully, I don’t have much problem with the posture, but this still helped for future reference! My next band meeting is on Monday, so I’ll be sure to check with my teacher. Thank you again!
The thing about playing the note an octave too high is due to the combination of embouchure (the shape of your mouth, where and how hard you press your lips on the reed) and your breath pressure. These factors have to be coordinated to control the pitch. Also, be sure you have the right kind of reed for a beginner. Reeds come in strengths numbered 1–5. Ask your teacher about this.
HI!!! does anyone wanna be my Mentor??😃
This would be better suited for the Allegiances Chat Page ^^ /nm
please ask this on the allegiances chat page!
fits the allegiance chat page better but good luck!
this would be better suited for the allegiances chat page! but good luck! ^^
also I absolutely LOVE your pfp lolll😭😭😭
