• Short story contest ✍️📝
Hello! I’m going to be using this secret page for a short story contest. So for this contest, I would like you to take the death of your favorite character, and rewrite it so it ends with them surviving. If your favorite character is still alive, you can write about any other character that died. Make it as happy as you can! Here are the rules/things to know:
-You can write as much or as little as you like, though I would prefer if it was more then 300 words. 🙂
-There will be first, second, and third place. The prize is secret, but there will be a prize.🤐 🏆 -You can only write one story. -This contest will only last 1 week. Next Sunday, March 21, is the last day you can enter, but I’m flexible, so if you still really want to enter, or need time, I will stretch the deadline.
-This is the most important rule of them all…..have fun!!! And good luck! I can’t wait to read all your wonderful stories! 🙂 🐈 🍀
✨May StarClan light your path!✨

Yellowfang’s destiny~

Yellowfang coughed as smoke filled into the medicine den. She couldn’t die! Not now! I won’t die! She launched herself out of the den and into the fiery forest around her. She leaped up and over a burning log, singeing some of her leg fur off. She winced in pain as it burned her skin, but she continued on.
She was about to reach the entrance when she saw the elder lying on the ground. His breath was shallow, but he was alive! She Hauled him up onto her back and leaped out of the camp. She ran through the burning gorse tunnel, but made it through. Firestar was in the distance running towards Riverclan with the kit swinging in his jaws.
She raced after him, determined not to give up. There were burning trees all around her, but she pushed onward.
Craaaack! A tree had split and was falling right into their path! If it fell all the way down, they wouldn’t be able to escape! Not today! She thought fiercely. Yellowfang ran and plummeted under the falling log! The elder on her back was starting to weigh her down, but she pushed through. Anger surged through her. I can’t. No, I won’t leave Cinderpelt yet. “For Cinderpelt!” She yowled angrily.
She saw sunningrocks now! She pushed forward, not quitting. Another bolt of lightning hit a tree! She ran for her life. It was now or never! The tree was falling a lot faster than the other one! She pelted away, but not fast enough. Her tail got caught under the burning tree! “I don’t have time for this!” She shouted furiously. She reached down and bit the part of her tail stuck under the tree, off.
Wincing with pain, she pelted even faster. Finally she got to sunning rocks! She swam swiftly across the river, as if there wasn’t even an elder on her back. She reached the other side, the water slightly red from her bleeding tail, and gasped breathlessly. She rolled the elder off of her back now that he was safe, and ran to the camp. She stepped courageously into the camp, and everyone parted into two sides letting her walk through.
Fireheart’s jaw dropped and Cinderpelt ran over to her dear friend and mentor. She licked her ear, and cleaned her tail up. She guided Yellowfang to the medicine den, but Yellowfang stopped.
She turned to Cinderpelt. “Mousebrain, why are you taking care of me right now, when there is an elder near the river by sunningrocks?” Yellowfang mewed affectionately harsh.
Murmurs of surprise rippled through both of the clans. Fireheart walked up to Yellowfang. “You saved him?”
Yellowfang nodded and Fireheart ran over to him. Yellowfang then continued on her way to the medicine den to get the rest she deserves.

• I love this prompt! Here’s my entry!

Mapleshade’s Forgiveness
Pain ripped through her body like fire as the apprentice’s teeth found her throat.
No! NO! My kits… Is he dead? Is the traitor dead?
Her bloodshot eyes snapped open. At her paws lay a dusky brown tom, his green eyes glazed. Appledusk was dead. Reedshine would have to raise her kits alone, would have to know the grief of losing that which you love the most- finally. Chest heaving, Mapleshade burst into raucous laughter, blood pouring from her throat like a crimson waterfall. She turned her back on the bloody scene, dragging herself away from the RiverClan cats who grieved before the body of a traitor.
She clawed herself forward, pawstep by grueling pawstep, until a voice broke into her hazy thoughts.
“You!” cried the voice. “Do you remember me? I’m Myler- we… er, met once before.” Mapleshade felt his nose press against her flank, but her body wouldn’t let her pull away. “You’re hurt bad,” mewed the small tom. “Poor thing. Here, let’s get you inside.” There was a rustling beside her as the loner began to dab at her fur with a scrap of damp moss. Mapleshade half-opened one eye and saw blood pouring from her throat, pooling beneath her in a great scarlet lake.
“There’s so much,” Myler mewed shakily. His dabbing of the moss became more frantic. “Did a Clan cat do this to you?”
Mapleshade closed her eyes, nodding weakly. The little tom sighed. “You should have left while you had the chance.” Mapleshade twitched slightly, curling her lip.
Leave? How could I leave? I swore to avenge the deaths of my kits, and that’s what I did. I wish that I could take Reedshine’s kits from her. He lives on through them- my vengeance will never truly be fulfilled.
Myler curled up beside her, flinching slightly as he pressed against her bloodied form. “I’ll stay with you,” he promised. “You’re safe.”
Mapleshade shivered. She wanted to push him away, to snap at him, but his warmth engulfed her.
“Thank you,” she whispered. Myler buried himself in her thick pelt, and she felt his heartbeat.

Thump. Tha-thump. Tha-thump. Tha-thump.

She smiled slightly. He was so small- he reminded her of Patchkit. He was just how old her kits would’ve been by now, too, at around apprentice age. For a moment, she forgot herself.

~*~

Opening her eyes, she stared around- was she in the ThunderClan nursery? Yes, yes, that was what this was. And there were Petalkit, Patchkit, and Larchkit curled up at her side, dozing. She glanced up as a pale brown tom brushed into the nursery, green eyes glittering.
“My love,” she purred, reaching up to nuzzle Appledusk’s cheek. He pulled backward, shaking his head.
“No, Mapleshade. You have to remember.”
Her mind spun, the memory of the river flashing through her mind. Darkstar’s cold expression as she cast the grieving tortoiseshell away. Appledusk’s lack of protest.
“You… You called us… A mistake,” she whispered, voice shaking with fury and sorrow. He lowered his head.
“Was it not? Our kits died, Mapleshade- none of this ever would have happened had we not made the choices that we did. Birchface’s death condemned me in the eyes of ThunderClan- we were never meant to last.” His voice broke slightly, and he sighed. Mapleshade’s body shook violently, but she didn’t lunge. Instead, she felt something fall into place in her mind. Something that had never been there in the first place. Something that had damned her to the fate that she was now facing.
“I never meant for them to drown! This is my fault- all my fault!” Her mew rose in pitch, and she let out a kit-like wail of agony. Appledusk shifted his starry paws.
“Yes, it was,” he murmured, leaning forward to touch his nose to her forehead. A surge of energy flooded her senses, rendering her immobile. “Now that you’ve accepted that… I think you deserve a second chance.” Mapleshade looked up at him, eyes filled with tears- half joyful, half agonized.
“Thank you,” she whispered. “Tell our babies that I miss them, so much… And that… And that I’m sorry.” Appledusk stepped back with a soft smile as she began to fade from view, her pelt glowing with the light of a thousand stars.

~*~

“Maple? Maple! Hey, are you alright?”
With a gasp, Mapleshade opened her eyes, chest heaving. She stared around in bewilderment, her eyes falling on a small black-and-white face.
Myler, she remembered. He took me to safety. He… trusted me.
“Did you call me… Maple?” She rasped, tilting her head. Myler nodded, yellow-green eyes glittering with worry.
“I thought I heard you say your name was Maple-something, the last time we met. I don’t know, I’m sorry- I’m just worried about you. You were making really weird noises,” he fretted, anxiously flicking his tail. Mapleshade took a deep breath, then smiled.
“Not Maple-something. Just… Just Maple,” she mewed quietly. “I think… I think I’m okay now. Have I stopped bleeding?”
“Y-yes, but you lost a lot of blood, and you just had like… a seizure or something. Are you sure you’re okay?” He blinked, leaning forward to sniff at her bloodied fur. She tensed, but held still, taking a deep breath.
“Yes. I… I just need to rest. Can I stay with you?”
“Of course you can- I mean, as long as you don’t act all mean like you did before.” He stepped back and looked at her warily. She sighed.
“It’ll take me… It’ll take me a while to get used to trusting you, but I won’t hurt you, okay?” She lifted her head, wincing as she felt the air hit her wound. Myler stepped forward with a gasp, but she shook her head.
“It’s alright,” she rasped. “Will you… Will you lay next to me again?” She rested her head on her paws, flicking her tail. Tentatively, he nodded, curling up beside her. She let out a long breath, eyes closing.
“Thank you, Myler. For everything.”
“Of course, Maple- I’m just glad you let me help you.”
With that, Mapleshade let herself doze off, burying her muzzle into her paws with a smile. As she drifted off to sleep, Myler’s heartbeat filled her head.

Thump. Tha-thump. Tha-thump. Tha-thump.

She had a chance to forgive herself. She had a chance to raise this cat like she wanted to raise her own kits. She had a family- a small one- and she was finally, finally happy.

• I’m glad she survived but her kits death were not her fault!

• This is great! I love the emotion, and the cat you chose for your story! 🤩🤩🤩

• I’m planning to enter! I wrote half of my story today, and I’m planning to finish and post it tomorrow (Sunday). 🙂
I love the prompt! 😀 I’m having a lot of fun with my story!

•   Honeyfern felt the rays of sunlight warm her flank as she leaned against Berrynose, watching Millie’s kits play near the nursery.
“We’ll have kits like that one day,” Berrynose’s soft voice sounded close to her ear.
Honeyfern’s heart warmed. “I’d like that,” she purred, blinking up at him.
A sudden movement in the shadows behind the nursery made Honeyfern’s ears prick up abruptly.
The purr died in her throat as a long, dark shape emerged.
Snake! And it was coming up right behind Briarkit!
Her heart pounding and the fur bristling along her spine, Honeyfern didn’t stop to thing. She had to save the kit.
She leaped down from the rock and pushed the small brown kit out of the way of the snake’s fangs.
A sudden bolt of pain flashed through her shoulder as the snake sunk its hooked fangs into her skin.
Honeyfern sprang backwards, her head whirling.
“Help!” she screeched. Dizzy and terrified, she collapsed on her side, panting.
Her shocked Clanmates gathered around, and Honeyfern took comfort in their presence.
“Help me!” a yowl escaped Honeyfern’s throat. The pain, which intensified every heartbeat, became unbearable, and a burning sensation flooded Honeyfern’s body, “My blood is on fire!” In a futile attempt to shake off the pain the she-cat twisted and rolled around, but the movement only made it hurt more. “Help me, please! It hurts so much!”
The smell of herbs reached Honeyfern’s nose, and there was a flicker of hope inside her.
“Stand back and give me some room!” Honeyfern heard Leafpool’s mew.
“I’m not leaving!” Berrynose’s snarl answered her, and Honeyfern felt comforted knowing her mate was by her side.
Her shoulder stung as Leafpool rubbed bitter-smelling herbs into the wound. Honeyfern winced.
“Try not to move,” Leafpool murmured, and Honeyfern held her breath, desperately forcing herself not to flinch away from the stinging sensation.
Although her thoughts were foggy, Honeyfern suddenly remembered about Briarkit. Was she okay? Did Honeyfern manage to save her? Or was she too late…?
Had the snake bitten Briarkit, too? The dreadful thought stabbed Honeyfern’s heart just like the sharp fangs.
She tried lifting her head to look around for the kit, but she was too weak and collapsed back onto the stone with a thump.
        Her heart pounded.
“I love you,” Honeyfern wanted to mew -to Berrynose, to her family, to Briarkit, to all her Clanmates- but all that came out of her jaw was a rasping sound, then a sigh.
        Everything went dark.

“I’m proud of you, Honeyfern,” Honeyfern recognized the voice of Rainwhisker- her uncle who had died when Honeyfern was still an apprentice.
“Am I dead?” Honeyfern wanted to yowl, “Did you come to take me to StarClan?”
All Rainwhisker said to that was, “I have come to tell you that you have been brave.”
His mew echoed through the darkness.
“Is Briarkit okay?” Honeyfern forced the words out this time, anxiously preparing herself for the StarClan Warrior’s reply, but just at that moment, her eyes flickered open.

Squinting at the dim rays of sunlight which penetrated through the bracken walls, Honeyfern looked around groggily.
Everything was sore, but to her relief the burning pain had gone away. A large leaf was wrapped around her shoulder.
A strong scent of herbs filled the air, and Leafpool was seated next to the nest that Honeyfern was laying in. Honeyfern realized she was in the medicine den.
She let out a weak purr as her eyes fell on her loved ones who gathered around in the den, their expressions filled with loving concern.
“Hi, Honeyfern,” a small voice squeaked behind her.
Honeyfern turned her head to see Briarkit. The brown kit was standing by the nest, holding a pink flower in her jaws.
Relief washed over Honeyfern like rain after a drought. Briarkit! She was alive and well! Honeyfern hadn’t failed to save her after all!
“Thank you for saving my life,” Briarkit mewed sweetly, dropping the flower at Honeyfern’s paws.
Honeyfern gave her a nuzzle, still barely able to grasp the thought that she knew Briarkit was okay and everything was fine now.
“My love,” Berrynose rested his muzzle on Honeyfern’s forehead.
Honeyfern looked up at her mate, to see that his eyes overflowed with worry.
“I’ll be okay,” she murmured, blinking at him lovingly.
And- with Berrynose’s loving presense surrounding her in warmth, with Briarkit alive and safe, with her parents gazing at her with relief and pride, and with her sisters chattering away about the fun they’ll all have together when Honeyfern recovers- she knew it in her own heart. She would be okay.
Honeyfern glanced once more at the beloved cats around her and realized she already was.
Her shoulder throbbed, but she didn’t mind. She had no regrets- Briarkit was safe and that was what mattered. She realized she would go through all that pain again in a heartbeat for the little kit.
As she thought about the kits her and Berrynose would someday have, about the games she would play with her friends and sisters once she was strong enough, and about how she planned on asking Firestar if she could mentor Briarkit, Honeyfern’s pain faded away and she drifted into a peaceful sleep.

• I was torn between Gray Wing and Mapleshade, but Gray Wing would be more interesting.
Slate looked at Gray Wing, tears in her eyes. They’ll grow up without a father. Suddenly, Gray Wing looked up at her, suprised. “Well, I’m not dead,” he laughed, “but at least the Clans have names.” Slate looked at him, confused. “You’re laughing? You were just about to die!” Silver Stripe, Black Ear, and White Tail smiled, and Gray Wing licked them. “Let him have room,” Slate scolded her kits. Clear Sky and Thunder looked astonished. “You’re… not even sick anymore?” Clear Sky asked. Thunder whacked his father with his tail, making Clear Sky realize how dumb that question was. “Didn’t I say he needs space?” she told the two cats. “I love you,” she whispered to Gray Wing, and led her kits out of the cave.
• I decided to do a story where Willowbreeze, Willowkit, and Minnowkit live. Here it is!

Crookedstar’s Promise (the happy version)

“Congratulations, Crookedstar,” Brambleberry mewed cheerfully. “You have three daughters.”
Crookedstar’s breath caught in his throat and joy burst through him. “How is Willowbreeze? How are the kits? Can I see them?” The questions poured from him like water flowed in the river.
Brambleberry purred. “Willowbreeze is doing wonderful. She had a cough a few sunrises ago, but I caught it early, and she is perfectly healthy now. And your daughters are going to make strong RiverClan warriors one day, no doubt. But you better get in there before Willowbreeze claws your ears off.” Amusement twinkled in her eyes. “She wants to name them, and she’s getting impatient.”
Crookedstar hurried into the nursery, his heart swelling with love and happiness at the sight of his mate and daughters. “Oh, Willowbreeze,” he gasped. “They’re beautiful.”
Willowbreeze looked up, her amber eyes shining. “They’re ours,” she whispered. She was beaming. Even though she must have been exhausted, she was radiant with life. “What should we name them?”
Crookedstar sat down beside his mate. “They need good names,” he meowed. “Names worthy of RiverClan warriors.”
Willowbreeze nodded. “Yes,” she agreed. “Only the best for our kits.”
Crookedstar gazed at his three daughters. One was a smoky-black kit. She squirmed before settling against her mother. “How about Willowkit for that one?” he suggested. “She’s strong and beautiful, just like her mother.”
Willowbreeze smiled. “Fine. For the dark gray she-kit, I like Minnowkit.”
Crookedstar touched his muzzle to hers. “Minnowkit is a wonderful name.” He glanced at the last kit, a silver tabby. “What about Silverkit for the last one?”
Willowbreeze blinked at him, emotion brimming in her beautiful eyes. “I love it. Willowkit, Minnowkit, and Silverkit. Our family.”
Crookedstar felt tears sting his eyes. He had lost so much over his life. His mother abandoned him as a kit, he had watched as life slowly drained from his father, he saw his brother go through the pain of falling in love with a ThunderClan cat… but through it all, Willowbreeze had stood by him. She was the one constant in his life, the one cat who would never leave him. Now, he finally had a family of his own. I promise I will never leave you, he thought as he gazed at them. I will never abandon you like my mother did. I will never leave you behind like my father did. And I will never betray you like my brother did. I will always love you, all of you. That is my promise to you.

• I was actually crying with happiness at the end, even though it’s so short. You’re an amazing writer, JuJu!

• My entry!
Leafpool’s death remade, now she survives!! 😀

Her heart beat so quickly she thought it would burst.
But she didn’t stop, and ran back and forth, grabbing the beloved kits who had a whole life ahead of them.
Ahead, she could hear her sister, Squirrelflight, calling for her. “Leafpool! Leafpool!”
Squirrelflight’s cry grew louder, but Leafpool couldn’t stop. The cave was falling. And if she went out now, the kits would die a stony, brutal death.
“I can’t find it!” A wail rose from Leafpool as she struggled to find the last kit. She desperately looked around, but she saw nothing and instead darkness. As every heartbeat went by, her desperation grew by a mile, and Leafpool frantically dug her claws into the ground.
Finally, a mewl sounded in the distance. Without even thinking, Leafpool picked up the kit and stood to her paws, but she was one heartbeat too late.
A thunderous roar sounded above her as the cave gave in and began falling. In a heartbeat, Leafpool thrust the kits outside to where they would be safe and loved. But as she stood to run out of the cave herself, to safety, she looked up to find a piece of stone falling on her – closer, closer, and closer, until it finally hit.
With a screech of agony, Leafpool gave into the pain and fell into endless darkness.

***

Leafpool opened her eyes and was met with the sunny, endless blue skies. Birds chirped ahead, and she blinked. Next to her was her sister, Squirrelflight, still curled into a ball, asleep.
“W-where am I? Where is the rest of my Clan?”
A flame-colored tom with emerald eyes emerged from behind her, and with a jolt Leafpool realized who it was. A lump of emotion filled her and she fought to keep back tears. “Father.”
He nodded. “You were hit, Leafpool. And Squirrelflight.”
Squirrelflight slowly opened her eyes and got to her paws as well, equally confused. “Are we going to die?”
Leafpool shook her head frantically. “We can’t!” She turned to her father. “Do something, Firestar!”
Firestar looked up at the bright sky. “It’s up to you.”

****

It was over. The trial.
Leafpool and her sister would be granted a spot in StarClan, forever.
Leafpool turned and faced her sister’s green eyes. “Will we stay. . . or will we go?”
“We can’t stay,” Squirrelflight declared. “I have a role as a deputy! My kits! I can’t leave everyone behind.” Her mew lowered as she faced Leafpool sadly. “What about you?”
There was only one answer to that question. “As long as I have you, I’ll be happy.”
The two, tails twined, faced the shimmering StarClan cats. “Whatever happens, we’re staying together.”
Firestar stepped out and nodded. “That is for you to decide, and your bodies.”
Taking a deep breath, Leafpool closed her eyes, emotion glistening in every ounce of her body, and allowed darkness to take over her once more.
She saw herself, young and strong, next to her sister. “I can call you Squirrelface if you want.”
Leafpool felt herself being carried again by another memory. She found Squirrelflight’s eyes staring earnestly at her. “We’ll stay together, forever,” her sister mewed, as an apprentice.
Darkness took over her, but Leafpool’s heart was finally bright. “We’re meant to be together. Whatever happens. Even the stars won’t keep us apart.”
Pain took over her head, but she refused to go with it. “We’ll be together! Keep us together! I will never let go!!!”
Then there was silence.
Silence.
Only the soft sound of a drizzle.
Then silence once more.
And when Leafpool finally opened her eyes, she was in the medicine den, with Squirrelflight next to her. As always, and as it would always be.
Her sister’s flanks rose and fell with each breath, and Leafpool’s heart filled with love.
They’d be together now.
Forever.

-I’d like it to be cannon. You can draw a ship that didn’t happen, like Lionblaze and Heathertail, or Feathertail and Crowfeather, but please stick to love that happened in the books! 📚📚📚
-The contest will last for two weeks. It starts today, Friday March 26th, and ends on April 9th. Tell me if you need more time though, and I can extend the deadline, just like my short story contest! 😉
-There will be first, second, and third prize. The prizes might be the same, but not 100% sure! 😛 I’ll try to be creative! 🙂 🏆
-Your drawing doesn’t have to be perfect! Just have fun drawing! 😀
-And yes, the most important rule is have fun!
Good luck! 🙂 🍀❤️
